Check Your Armour, the Whole Armour of God

Let us start with this scripture.

Ephesians 6: 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

And again let us read:

Joshua 5: 13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? 14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant? 15 And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

When the Captain of the Lord’s Host comes to inspect your Whole Armour of God, what condition will he find it? What armour do you have on? Do you have the Whole armour of God, or some other armour? When the Holy Spirit comes to you to inspect your armour, will he find a place in which he is Please to Dwell? Will he find everything in order? Are your loins girt tight? Is your sword sharp; Do you know the Word of God, or do you fumble around with it?

The Message of the Hour sharpens your sword!

There is an armour of God, and there is an armour of man, an ecclesiastical, denominational, intellectual armour. There is a sword of the spirit. There is a sword of the flesh. There is the Message in Power, and there is the Message in letter only. God’s armour is powerful! It is invincible! But far too often, instead of coming with the Power of God, we come quoting the letter without Faith. And whatsoever is without Faith is SIN!

When we quote the Bible, quote the Message, and do not believe what we are quoting with all our hearts, those very words we are quoting are SIN. Unbelief!

The Seven Sons of Sceva came quoting the Prophet. They faced off against the devil in the name of Jesus who Paul preaches. How many today are coming in the name of Jesus who Branham preaches? If that is how you are coming to battle, then Satan will overcome you like he did them. In fact, he has already overcome you and you don’t know it. We need God’s whole armour.

There is no substitute.

When we compromise with the world, with religion, with traditions, with cultures, we are compromising with Satan for he indeed is the god of this world.

50 That’s what’s the matter we don’t get sealed so much; we’re too loose about things. When the Inspector goes through, to inspect your life, to see if you’re not just a little loose about things, little loose about your prayer life, little loose about that temper, little loose about that tongue, to talk about others, He’ll never seal the car. Some dirty habits, some vile things, some vulgarity mind, He can’t seal the car. But when He’s found everything in its place, the Inspector, then He seals it. Dare be anybody open that seal until that car has reached its destination to where it’s sealed for! There it is. “Touch not My anointed; do My prophets no harm. For I say unto you, it’d be better for you that a millstone was hanged at your neck, and you were drowned in the depths of the sea, than even to try to offend or shake a little on the least of these that’s been sealed.” You see what it means?
Are we compromising with the world? Do we hold to traditions, or to the Word of God? Do we hold to an intellectual message, or a Message of Power? Are we tied up in denominational cliques within the message? Check yourself! Check your armour!

1 Corinthians 2: And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Which armour are you wearing? Are you wearing the armour of God, or a religious armour? They look alike, but behave very differently. Remember, the devil cannot create, so everything he has is a perversion of something that God created. The devil has a religious armour, that look like the armour of God, because it is a perversion of the Whole Armour of God.

This is serious business. There is a way that seems right unto man, the end thereof is death.

You see, people think they are right. The devil’s armour looks so much like the Whole Armour of God, that without the Holy Spirit, without Revelation and Discernment, we will not be able to tell the difference.

People think that what they are doing, what they are saying, what they are believing is right and holy, but it is neither. They have an armour. It is shiny and beautiful. They have a shield, but not a shield of Faith, it is shield of worldly wisdom and excuses.

  • “The days of miracles are past.
  • God’s will is for me to be sick because I have enough faith to be sick and still believe.
  • Those things in the Bible were written for that day, not for today.
  • We don’t need divine healing because we have good medicine and doctors today.”
  • They will tell you that you “cannot judge them”.

They say that one a lot. And they are so blind that they actually believe they are correct.

Check everything with the Word of God, through the lens of the Message of the Hour. If the Lord God did not intend for us to use the Message as our guide to the Word, he never would have sent it, and he never would have vindicated it. If we did not need the Message, then we would not have it.

How may people got on the Ark outside of Noah’s message? The same number will be the Bride outside of the Message of Malachi 4.

They have sword, but it is not a two edged sword.

Hebrews 4: 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

A two edged sword cuts in both directions. It cuts the person receiving it, and it cuts the person giving it. It cuts coming and going. The Word of God will circumcise the flesh of the speaker and the listener. The religious sword only cuts in one direction. They will slice you to pieces yet never feel convicted themselves.

We have the helmet of salvation. There is another helmet, the helmet of religion. The helmet that if we believe that William Branham was Elijah then we are the Bride. It is denominationalism! It is idolatry!

New Flash: Satan believes that too, and still has a black eye from the last time he tangled with him.

Are your feet covered with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Not just the gospel of peace, but the preparation of it. Are you prayed up? Are you fed with the Message and the Word? Are you prepared?

1 Peter 3: 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Or do we have the preparation of gossip? Are we prepared with an answer for the reason of hope, or simply a criticism? Where are our feet rushing too, and for what purpose?

Romans 3: 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Do we have the breastplate of righteousness, or the breastplate of Self Righteousness? “Oh, I am in the message so I am somehow better”. “I go to such and such a church”. “I tithe AND pay offerings, and I send money to Jeffersonville”. “I spend my holidays going to camp meetings”.

How about “I was raised in the message, I was never in the world”. If that is your attitude, you are still in the world!

129 A little old “ruddy,” drawed over, the Bible said he was “ruddy.” That wasn’t a very fair child, “ruddy” is just a little old drawed-up sort of a fellow. And he went out there, and Saul, why, he put Saul’s armor on him, and I imagine the shield come plumb down over his feet. And he said, “Take this stuff off of me. I—I’ve…” Maybe he give him a doctor’s degree, a Ph.D. or L.L.D., or something, you know. How he said, “I don’t know nothing about that stuff, because I haven’t proved it. Let me have this, what I know what I’m doing with.” Yes, sir. He took the slingshot.

The armour of God must be proven!

We prove the armour through trials. We find the weakness in our armour, or rather in how we use it, when we fail. Ask any boxer; you learn to block by being punched in the nose over and over.

You got no trials in your life, you just ain’t ready to be proven yet. Maybe you don’t even have your armour on yet. Many times we see people with trials in their life and the first thing people do is point fingers and say that they are secret sinners. That is what they accused Job of. Are you Job, or the other three guys?

In every story in the Bible, you will find yourself there. Where do you fit in?

The Prophet said that “the devil has either got you, or he is after you”. I had more than one guy “in the message” brag to me that he never had any of the problems that I have had, that he was never out of work, no serious sicknesses etc. Well, brother, where is your trial? Where is your victory if you have never fought a battle?

Are you in a battle right now? Rejoice! Prove that armour!

David fought Goliath. David had victory. David was a man after God’s own heart. Who are you fighting today? Are you a David, or are you one of the guys cowering in the background? Everyone of us is somewhere there in that story. Which character are you? David? The cowards? Or, God forbid, maybe Goliath?

Search it out.

We will never win a Victory without a Battle.

The greater the victory, the greater the battle. You become the world heavyweight boxing champion by beat the current world heavyweight boxing champion, not be beating up a boyscout. Big victories come at the end of Big Battles.

We cannot fight a battle without the right armour, we will simply be slaughtered. If we have an ecclesiastical, denominational, intellectual armour, we will never survive a fight against the devil. In fact, if that is the armour that you have on you, you may find that you are actually fighting for, and not against the devil.

Job’s three friends had religious armour. They believed that they were right, and that Job was wrong. Job fought hard battles, one after the other. But in the end, Job had the victory, and the Lord told those other three that if Job did not pray for them, they were finished.

Notice, the three “friends” had no battles, and no victories.

So even after all his battles, after the victory, Job still had a final battle. Job had to forgive and pray for his enemies.

Job 42: 10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

The Lord turned the captivity of Job, WHEN he prayed for his friends, not before. When the battle is over, we have to forgive those who fought against us.

Mark 11: 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

That is the big one. Your armour won’t fit over bitterness and hate. When the Captain of the Host comes to inspect you, there can be nothing evil, no root of bitterness in there.

Check your armour!
