God Working in Us

The message for today is one of encouragement. It is the message of the Lord God Jehovah working in us.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

May the Lord God add his blessing to the reading of his word.

God at WorkIt is a short scripture but there is so much in it. It is God working in you, in me. We are not Christians of our own accord, it is by the grace of God. We could not do this on our own. We did not come here on our own. We cannot understand this word of God on our own. But it is God Himself working in us.

Who here has been delivered? Did you do that or did God deliver you? Who has been healed? Did you do it or did God heal you?

Everything we have is of God. He is the giver of all good gifts. God himself is working in us for two purposes: to will or desire His good pleasure, and to do His good pleasure.

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father.

Your very desire for God is not of yourself but is given to you from God. We are fleshly creatures the same as the world. We lived in sin the same as the world. We were conceived in iniquity, born in sin and come into the world speaking lies. Every one of us the same as the world.

Yet there is something different about us. When we heard the word of God we accepted and believed it. When we heard the voice of the Shepard we came and followed him. Why? What makes us different? Are we holier than they are? No. Are we more righteous than they are? No. Are we smarter than they are? No. The difference is that God is working in us. God is working in us!

John 6: 43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Have you come to the Son? We have all come to Jesus if we are Christians? We have come because God drew us. We can only come to Jesus if God draws us. We can only come to Jesus if God is working in us. Jesus Christ is the word of God. Amen? The message is the Revealed Word of God. Amen? So we can only come to the word, to believe the message of the hour if God is working on us. And to believe the message is not simply to parrot the prophet. To believe the message is to have the message, the word of God, the Bible, revealed to you by the Holy Spirit. That is God working in you.

But that does not mean that we can be slack and idle. We have a job too.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Prove the perfect will of God. Be not conformed to this world. Who runs the world? The devil. So be not conformed to the devil’s world, but be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. Be transformed into the Word of God. Present your bodies as a living sacrifice. Did you ever ask yourself what this means or what it entails? What are we sacrificing? We are sacrificing our flesh. We are crucifying our fleshly desires, our ungodly lusts, for Christ. To present ourselves as a holy sacrifice unto the Lord we must be holy, and we can only be holy if the Holy Spirit dwells in us. That, once again is God working in us. It is His holiness that makes us holy.

We also have to offer up the sacrifice of praise. Jesus said if we will deny him then he will deny us, but if we will confess him, then he will confess us. Did you ever wonder why it is so hard to open your mouth and praise God sometimes? The hardest thing for people to do is to praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, even in church. The devil, and our flesh are working against us. But God is working in us, and if we choose to think God’s thoughts, then we will overcome our flesh and the devil and be able to raise our voices and praise and worship God.

God is working in us but He requires an effort from us to. Remember the wise and the foolish virgins. God was working in both of them, they were all saved but the foolish virgins worked against God, they fought against the working of God in them. Remember we are at war and the battle is in our minds. We can hinder the working of God in us. We have to be transformed into the image of Christ by the renewing of our minds. It is in our minds, our decisions, that we accept and prove the perfect will of God.

And it involves a change in us. What we were is no good. We must be transformed, changed. We must get rid of the old things. That is the circumcision of the heart. Old ideas, old ways, old feelings, old thoughts, old manners, old lives must all perish with the old man.

Colossians 3:7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of you mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 and put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.

Put of the old man with his deeds. Our old man, the person we were, must be put off with all of our old deeds. When we are baptized we are burying that old man, with all of its sins and all of its vices in water that we may be born again renewed in Christ Jesus. And we have to put on the new man after the image of Christ. Are we the image of Christ? When the world looks at us do they see Jesus Christ, or do they see the old man? Has the world seen a change in us? Are we allowing God to work in us or are we hindering Him?

Moses fought against the Lord. Caught you off guard with that. He was not intentionally fighting God, but by His Egyptian education, by the learning he received in the flesh, he was acting contrary to what God wanted. God was working in him, but his mind was not in tune with God’s word. So he tried to do what he thought was the will of God but in fact he was working contrary to it. It took another 40 years for Moses to get in to the right condition where God could work in him unhindered.

There was a young man in Israel. He was very zealous for the Lord, a Pharisee and a devout Jew of the tribe of Benjamin. He studied under the best teacher that Israel had to offer. He knew the scriptures, the law and the prophets, better than any man in Israel. His whole life was dedicated to the living God of Israel to the point where there was nothing he would not do for God. But even though this man was a predestinated seed of God, he was hindering the working of God in him, that is until God got hold of him.

Galatians 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it.

Paul was a predestinated seed, a chosen vessel of the Lord, an apostle, a prophet and the messenger to the first church age and yet he was hindering the working of God in him. How much more do we? Our thoughts, our ideas, our works, our lives will either hinder God’s working in us or it will complement it. What are our live like? Are we hindering the working of God in us? Attitude says it all. Let’s look at two people who were given the same message. They were both children of God. One hindered the working of God and the other complemented it.

Luke 1:13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. 14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. 15 for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb. 16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. 17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. 18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years? 19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to show thee these glad tidings. 20 And behold, you shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because you believe not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

Zacharias was a man of God, and a preacher too. He was not an unbeliever. But because he could not understand Gabriel’s words, he foolishly rejected them. And because he rejected them the angel gave him a little time of trouble. The angel had to make a little adjustment in Zacharias so that he could come to terms with the message and yield to the working of God in him.

Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

So it is truly our choice. It is your choice right now. Make the right choice. Our attitude will determine how God works in us. We can either accept the Word and yield to the spirit, or we can hinder the working of the Lord by doubting what the word says to us.

Some through the fire and some through the flood, some through the water but all through the blood, some in great sorrow, but God gives a song, in the night season and all the day long. If we are called for eternal life God will have His way with us. If we hinder his working he will still accomplish that which he determines to accomplish, we will just have to suffer a little. He is not punishing us, he is chastising us. Zacharias was not punished, he was chastised. He was given a little spank by God so he would line himself up with God’s will.

It may seem a little rough or scary to think about being chastised of God but the Bible gives us direction.

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives. 7 If ye endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, wherefore all are partakers, then are ye bastards and not sons.

The devil will tell you the opposite. The devil will tell you that God has written you off, that you are being punished and God has left you. That is a lie! That is God dealing with you. That is God working in you. If we do not yield to the working of the Holy Spirit in us willingly of our own accord then God will give us a little spank to wake us up so that we will yield to him. Was Moses being punished when he got sent off into the desert to be a Sheppard for 40 years? No. That was God dealing with him. Was Zacharias being punished with his stroke or whatever it was? No. That was God dealing with him. Was Paul being punished when he was blinded on the road to Damascus? NO. That was God working through and in him. Some through the fire and some through the flood.

But it will come down to our attitude, to how we see ourselves and how we see God.

James 4:6 But he gives more grace. Wherefore he said, God resists the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil and he shall flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Is it coming together? Am I making sense to everyone? God is working in each and every one reading this blog right now. He is doing it by his word and by the incidents in our lives. He is working to transform us into the image of Jesus Christ. He is molding us like clay. He is the potter. And if the clay will not come into shape, then sometimes the potter has to bust it up and start over. But the potter doesn’t throw away the clay, he starts over from scratch with the same clay. Sometimes we get so out of God’s will that he has to bust us up and start from the bottom up. That is what he did to Moses.

Romans 6: 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lust thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Yield yourself to God. You are called for it. One way or another God will accomplish in you the things that He has determined for you. You cannot avoid it. Your name was written in the lamb’s book of life before the foundation of the world and God did not do that by mistake. You fate was determined before the universe was created. What was not determined is how you will get there. You will get there, that is for sure, but you can come the easy way or the hard way, but you will surely come.

Zacharias could have taken the easy way but he did not and it cost him 9 months of not being able to talk. He was still saved. He was still the father of God’s greatest prophet. But he had to go through some fire on his journey.

What about us? What about you? Are we going to yield to God? Eventually we will. Why not take the easy way? God will mold you into the image of Jesus Christ. He has promised to do it and one way or another He will do it. It is really up to us as to which path we take. God only spanks us when we are bad. If we have a stubborn spirit God will break that thing. If we are proud God surely will humble us. If we are Laodicean and lukewarm God will surely set us on fire.

Sin. Sin is unbelief. Unbelief is the only sin. Lying, stealing etc. are attributes of sin. We do them because we do not believe in the first place. Unbelief is sin. Let not sin, unbelief, reign in you mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lust thereof. The old man again. Yielding again. You have two spirits talking to you right now. Which are you going to yield too. The Bible tells us to yield to Christ and not to the lusts of our flesh because the lusts of the flesh work unrighteousness. If we yield ourselves to sin we will reap the wages of unrighteousness. If we yield ourselves to the lusts of the flesh or the things of the world we are hindering the working of God in us. God will warn us, and warn us, and speak to us, and preach to us, and finally he will chastise us. He has given us a way to walk and one way or another we will walk with him.

What is our walk? It is our service to the Lord and our service to the world.

Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in knowledge of God;

Our service unto God is our lives. God is working in us, transforming us into the image of His son through his word, and working in us to both desire and to do His will in our lives. If we walk according to the spirit, then we will be pleasing to God, serving God and serving men in a godly fashion.

2 Corinthians 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to bed the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in table of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

We are written epistles. We are the word of God in flesh today. We are supposed to be. The Bible says that we are supposed to be. Are we? Are people surprised when you tell them you are a Christian? Is it because your life does not match your testimony? Are we pleasing to the Lord?

We have the message of the hour. We have been sent a prophet of God, vindicated by signs, wonders and miracles, who brought out the hidden mysteries of the Bible, restored the lost doctrine from the Bible, and restored the faith of the children to that of the original Pentecostal fathers. We have, for the first time in history, the first time since time began, the whole Bible revealed. Every single word written in this book is now open to us. We have the greatest light that has ever shone on earth today. We have more light than Noah, more than Moses, more than Paul, for the mysteries were sealed up unto this hour.

We have the greatest truth the world has ever known. We have the pillar of fire, not just in a picture on our mantels, but right here amongst us working the same miracles that he has always worked. God is working in us, in our hearts, in our souls, changing us, teaching us, transforming us into his image. Our job is to live that life, to yield to the Holy Spirit and to resist the devil. Our job is to be the Bible to others, to show Jesus Christ in our lives. Our job is to crucify our old man with the desires thereof and to live a new life in Christ Jesus.

You cannot have it both ways. You cannot mix God with the world.

Matthew 9:16 No man puts a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottle: else the bottles break, and the wine runs out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

They did not have glass bottles in those days, they had wine skins. And new wine is still fermenting. It is full of life and bubbling up with life. You put new wine in an old dried up wine skin and the pressure from the bubbles will burst that old skin.

We cannot take a patch of God’s righteousness and patch the holes in the filthy rags of our righteousness. We must do as Elisha and cast off our robes, cast off our self-righteousness and wrap ourselves in the robes of God’s righteousness. We must be justified and sanctified before we can ever be filled with the Holy Spirit and there is no way to put the Holy Spirit into an old dead carnal denominational religion.

You try putting the Holy Spirit into a dead formal denomination and it will bubble up with life and bust its way out. The upper room could not contain the 120 once the Holy Spirit indwelled them and neither will a denomination contain a Christian once God fills them today. The only difference today between a Pentecostal and a catholic is the street address. We must be born again of water and of spirit, and that new birth will set us free from all traditions and dogmas and creeds.

And if we cannot put the Holy Spirit into a religion, how much less can we put it into the world. You cannot patch up an unholy worldly heart with a Holy Spirit. It won’t stick. It is full of power and it will rend the worldly heart in two. You cannot put the Holy Spirit into an old dried up heart. It will bubble up and bust you wide open.

We need a new heart and a new spirit, then God will give us the Holy Spirit. We have to cleanse ourselves, or rather let the Lord God cleanse us, from the things of the world and the things of the flesh and the things of religion. We have to yield to the working of God in us. We have to stop resisting him. He will have his way in the end.

Look at Jonah the prophet. He steadfastly resisted the will of God. God told him to go one way and he went the other, and God sent him a spanking in the form of a storm and a big fish. If Jonah had not resisted the working of God in him then he would have foregone that whole nightmare. And look at Nineveh. When the word of the Lord came to them they accepted it immediately and suffered nothing. They were on the verge of being condemned and destroyed off the face of the earth but when the heard the message of the hour they immediately repented and received it and yielded themselves to it.

Sodom was sent a similar warning but they scoffed at the message. They refused to yield to the word of God and were destroyed of fire.

We hear the message of our hour. This generation is on the verge of destruction by fire. This generation will be like Sodom but worse for Jesus said if Sodom had seen the signs and wonders they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes and be standing today. This generation will not yield to the word of God, to the message of the hour and will most certainly be cleansed by fire.

But God is working in us. God is giving us his word. His spirit is molding us, sculpting us, transforming us into his image. All He requires of us is to yield to him and to resist the devil. All he requires of us is to choose. He is doing the work.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

We are His workmanship. It is God that is working in us. It is God that is changing us. It is God that forgave our sins. It is God that delivered us from bondage. It is God that healed our diseases. It is God that is transforming us and it is God that ordained us to walk in his word before the foundation of the World. And let us leave you with this last word. A word upon which you can meditate for the rest of you time on earth. A promise of God that will not pass away, will not fail and will not change.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Paul says to be confident. Be confident in his promise. Be confident in his workmanship. Has he begun a work in you? He won’t stop until he comes back for you. Be confident in that fact. Yield yourself to him, he is working in you right now. He will be working in you tomorrow. He will be working a good work in you till the rapture comes to take you home. Be confident. It isn’t us working. It is God working in us. We cannot fail for it is not us doing the work it is God himself. God is doing it and he never fails. Be confident in God.

Rejoice oh Christian and shout for God is working a good work in you. The most holy Lord God Jehovah, creator of heaven and earth, is perfecting you with his word. Yield to God and be quick to answer him. Receive of his word and of his spirit. Receive his word, believe his word and obey his word. Cry out to him day and night. Praise his name for it is God himself that is working in you. And He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world. What victory we have in Jesus.

He will not fail.

As a Man Thinks in His Heart, So is He

(Think on these things)

Think on These Things
Think on These Things

Today we are inundated with ideas and theologies and philosophies trying to teach us how to think and behave. But we have been given the master theology from God himself. I believe, as do all Christians, that the Bible is the perfect, unfailing, inspired word of God. It does not contain all information or all history but contains the essential elements for life. There is nothing needed that has been left out, and nothing added that is not essential. That is why the Bible tells us never to add to it, and never to take away from it. We need the Bible, as it was written, in its entirety. It contains all that we need to live and find salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the user manual for life.

And on that note I would like to take an admonishment from the Bible for a text out of the book of Philippians.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

And may God add a blessing to the reading of His word.

Notice Paul’s admonishment to us. He is telling us to consciously control our thoughts. Not only is he telling us to control them but giving us a very specific direction in which to think. And if the Bible tells us that we are to think on these things, then by default are we not also supposed to avoid thinking the opposite as well?

Look what he tells us to think on; true things, honest things, just things, pure things, lovely things, things of a good report, things of virtue and praise. He is telling us to think only on good things and to not think about bad things. This is what we are told to think on. And everything God tells us if for a reason and for our own good.

Now we have to ask ourselves some questions. Why? Why does Paul tell us to get control of our thoughts and why is it so important what we think on? Why is it essential to think only on good things? Why is it bad to think on the things that are maybe not so good? What will happen if we do not think on good things? Asking the right questions is the key to learning.

He is telling us to control our thoughts. We have to look a little deeper, to see where our thoughts actually come from, what they are, what they do, and how they manifest themselves in our lives. We have all heard of “positive thinking” and the “power of positive thinking”. We have heard of the placebo effect with medicines, how someone’s belief in the medicine will affect the outcome of taking the medicine. We have all heard how Olympic athletes will “visualize” themselves performing their sports perfectly. Everything physical has a spiritual counterpart. It is like the negative and positive of a picture.

So where do our thoughts come from? Did you ever stop to ask that question? It will surprise some. Science will disagree completely with me here but I believe what the Bible says above all.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Did Paul say they were the thoughts and intents of the mind? He said they come from the heart. That is where your thoughts come from. They come from your heart, from inside. What dwells in your heart? A spirit dwells in each and every human being. Your thoughts, my thoughts, come from the spirit or spirits that dwell inside us. Now this is not spiritualism. This is not voodoo, this is perfectly scriptural. I know it seems strange to most, having never ventured into these waters, but if you bear with me, I will show you by the grace of God through the Holy Scriptures that it is perfectly so.

For some I would say it is starting to make a little sense now. The thoughts in our heads come from our hearts. Every thought has its origins in the spiritual realm before it ever enters the intellectual realm. We wrestle with them in our minds but they come from our hearts, from spirits. And when we hear the Word of God, it will expose our spirits by discerning our thoughts, which come out of our hearts. When we hear the word of God, our spirit will either reject it or accept it. That is why the John writes to try spirits with the word.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. 3 And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

John doesn’t tell us to try men, or to try preachers, but to try the spirits that are in the men. In the fourth verse he plainly tells us in black and white that we either have the spirit of God or the spirit of the world. Every man, woman and child on this planet is possessed of a spirit. This is a big piece of meat and not for babies. We are either born again and possessed of the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, or we are not yet regenerated and possessed by the spirit of the world, which is a devil.

So keeping this in mind, let us return to the idea of finding out where are thoughts originate and how they function.

Matthew 15:18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

It is not out of the mouth, or out of the mind that thoughts originate, but of the heart they come. Notice Jesus said they do come out of the mouth, but before they can come out of the mouth, they must first be a thought and the thoughts come from the heart.

This is a simple idea but some people have trouble grasping it. A word is a thought expressed. When you speak a word, when I speak a word, when God speaks a word, that word is the expression of a thought. The evil thoughts in the heart, go to the mind where they are considered and either rejected or embraced. And when we embrace evil thoughts they will conceive and bring forth fruit; adulteries, murders etc. And when we embrace a thought, we are embracing and give obedience to the spirit from which that thought originated. When we reject a thought we are rejecting the spirit from which it came.

2 Corinthians 10: 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty though God to the pulling down of strong holds:) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Amen? We do not war after the flesh. We are not warriors of guns and swords. Our war is not in our body, but in our minds. The greatest battle ever fought is in the human mind. It is the chosen place of battle. For there to be a war, the two parties have to settle on a place to fight that war. There must be some place where they can both come and both fight. The chosen place for spiritual warfare is in the depths of every human mind. It is the “no mans land” of the spirit realm.

God and Satan are facing off, and it is not in Armageddon, it is not in some future battle or some historic epic, it is right inside of your head right now! The greatest spiritual war ever fought is going on right inside of your mind, right at this moment! You are hearing the Word of God anointed by the spirit of God, and the devil is telling you just the opposite. The Holy Spirit is standing right there pouring Himself out to you, offering you the gift of faith with the revelation of Jesus Christ and the devil is standing right beside Him pouring out his unbelief at you. Right inside of your mind at this very moment you are going to either receive or reject the Word of God. Right inside your mind you will either receive or reject Jesus Christ. Right inside of your mind you will determine your eternal destination, based on what you think.

That is quite the revelation in itself. Do you really understand what I just said? Are you able to believe that? It is one of the most important revelations we can receive, for if we do not know our enemy, and if we do not know where the battle is being fought, then we will surely loose. Our battle is in our minds and it is the battle of faith versus unbelief. It is the battle of good versus evil. It is the battle of the Truth of God against the lies of Satan.

Why did the allies win in WWII? Did we have better guns? No. Did we have better soldiers or better training than the Germans? Not even close. We won the war simply because Germany did not know where the battle was to be fought. Think about it. We were not winning WWII, we were losing and suddenly in the end we won. We surprised them when we stormed the beaches in France.

If they had known where the battle was being fought, they would have mowed us down like grass. But we kept it from them, we hid it from their eyes, and because they did not know where the battle was going to be fought they had no resources, no plan, no strategy and no chance. And if we do not understand where our battle is being fought today the devil with his inferior tactics, and his inferior power, and his inferior weak lies will defeat us! WE HAVE TO KNOW WHERE THE BATTLE IS BEING FOUGHT SO WE CAN COME AT THE DEVIL WITH EVERYTHING GOD HAS GIVEN US! We cannot let down our guard for a moment.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

“Having done all to stand”. The devil will not let up so we must not let up either. We must do ALL. The devil has wiles. Wiles: scheming, craftiness, lying in wait. He will wait you out and when you least expect it he will attack. He knows where you are strong, he knows where you are weak. You cannot fool him, you have to stand with truth and faith. This whole world is ruled by darkness. The devil is not only the spirit of the world, but the Bible calls him the god of this evil world. He rules the politics, he rules the philosophies, he rules the religions.

14 Stand therefore having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Do you recognize it? That is our first scripture. Whatsoever is true, righteous, lovely etc. The battleground is in our minds and we have been given the weaponry and the armour to win. But if we either don’t recognize the enemy, don’t recognize the battle, or fail to use our weapons, then we will surely loose. The devil will never give up. He has an appointed end, and until that day arrives he will fight tooth and nail. Even though he lost the battle 2000 years ago on Calvary, he will fight and fuss to the very bitter end.

But we do not have to lose. We are not in darkness. We have been given the light of the hour. In this day the entire written Bible has been revealed for us. And the Bible not only tells us of God but it also tells us the devils tactics in detail. It shows us how he attacked Job. It shows us how he attacked Eve. It shows us how he attacked Jesus. It shows us every move the devil makes and how to overcome them. We have the devils playbook. We know his tricks. And not only that, but Jesus has already won the victory for us. We are fighting against a defeated enemy. We cannot lose because we have already won in Christ Jesus. When we are born again we are already victorious and sitting in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Can you imagine if you were a boxer going into a title fight against the champion and you walk into a boxing ring to find your opponent has already been beaten up and knocked out and all you have to do is stand there for the count of ten? That is the case here. Jesus beat up and knocked out the devil 2000 years ago and He told us in Ephesians that all we have to do is put on the armour, the spiritual boxing gloves and stand. That’s all, just stand. Stand on what? Stand on the word of God. Stand on God’s promises. No matter what the devil says, no matter what the physical evidence seems to say, no matter what the doctor’s diagnosis says, no matter what you pastor or church say, no matter what I say, stand upon what Jesus Christ says and you have already won the victory.

It is all in our minds. It depends on our attitudes. What we think and believe will determine the battle. And what we truly believe is what we will act on. That is another important point. It is easy to subscribe to a theology or doctrine, or to profess a belief, but it is when the rubber hits the road that you will find out what you truly believe. There is where your trials come in to play. Do you believe in divine healing of Jesus Christ? Get sick and find out. Do you believe that he is your provider? Go broke and find out. Our trials, and more importantly our actions and reactions to those trials, will show us what we truly believe.

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We saw earlier that a word is a thought expressed. So we need our thoughts to come to fruition, to be expressed. That is where they get their power. As long as God was just thinking about light, there was total darkness. But when God spoke the word, “let there be light”, then the thought of God, expressed as a word, brought forth the light in power. So to we must overcome in our minds and bring forth the expression of our thought. We believe in our hearts and then in our minds we claim that belief and manifest it in our words, and by our words, the confession of our lips, our belief brings forth salvation. Jesus said if we would confess Him before men then He would also confess us before God, but if we deny Him before men then He would deny us before God as well. Again the Bible says that all those who cry out in the name of the Lord shall be saved.

In Hebrews Paul calls Jesus the high priest of our profession. Not of our belief, but of our profession. We must not only have the thought, we must express that thought.

Luke 6: 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of things men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

It is not out of the abundance of our minds, but of our hearts that we speak. When we believe the word of God we will confess it with our lips. When we disbelieve the word of God we will also confess that with our lips.

Our thoughts both reflect, and effect, our faith. They show where our faith stands and determine whether our faith is increasing or decreasing.

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Not by hearing dogma. Not be hearing church creeds. Not by hearing philosophy. Not even by hearing testimonies. But faith comes only by hearing the word of God.

What happens when we hear the word of God? It goes into our mind. It goes into the battlefield. The words you are hearing right now are going into battle in your mind. It all depends on what you do with them. Will you receive them and accept them and believe them? Then you will increase in faith. Will you reject them, disbelieve them, deny them, argue against them? Then you will decrease in faith. There is no standing still with God. We are always thinking something so we either move forward or backward but we are always moving. The battle never stops. We win or we loose but we never get to step out of the battle. Look at what the Apostle and Prophet wrote about himself:

Romans 7: 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

Paul was constantly warring in his mind. There are two opposing forces, one of good and one of evil warring in his mind. The devil will play to your flesh, to the lusts thereof but the Holy Spirit will deal with your soul, with its needs. And when you are a Christian, the two forces will war in your mind day and night. We are soldiers of the cross. And the two forces will have two conflicting thoughts for you to deal with, one of faith in God’s word, and one of disbelief in God’s word. And we have the right and the power to decide which thoughts we will reject and which ones we will accept. God granted us free moral agency, the right to choose.

Let’s take Abraham. Abraham fought a great war of faith. His fight of faith was so great that he is called the father of faith. A great war indeed. Here was a man a hundred years old. He had been given a promise by God that he would have a child by his 90 year old, barren, wife. And here it was 25 years after he had been given the promise, getting older and weaker by the moment, and he was still fighting a war of faith for the promise had not yet been fulfilled. But what does the Bible say of him?

Romans 4: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief: but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

He staggered not through unbelief. He fought a battle in his mind. And a great battle it was. How would we fair in his shoes I wonder? A hundred years old and his wife 90, older and weaker by the day and still believing a 25 year old promise that he was going to have a child. He fought that battle every day and every night for 25 years. Do you think the devil gave him a day off? Would the devil say “oh Abraham I have been at your heels for a few years, I think I will give you a holiday and leave you in peace for a few weeks”? NEVER! Day and night, wake or sleep the devil was attacking Abraham in his mind telling him that it was impossible, that God had forgotten about him, that God didn’t want him anymore, that he went too far and was out of the will of God and lost salvation and his promise. Daily and nightly this went on. And Abraham was up to the fight. He did not back down. He had on the whole armour of God.

And when Abraham finally got his son what did God do? He sent him right back into battle. He told Abraham now that you got him, I want you to sacrifice him to me. Could we do that this morning? Abraham was up to the task for he was persuaded that the same God who gave him a son from the dead could raise his son up from the dead as well.

And Abraham was so filled with the spirit of God that not only did he overcome the devil in battle, but he also prophesied of Christ in the process. He said “God will provide a lamb for the sacrifice” and there was a ram in the bushes. Not a lamb but a ram. Abraham did not just prophesy that God would bring an animal, he prophesied that God would send Jesus, the Lamb of God for the sacrifice, the perfect sacrifice for all sin, for all men, forever.

God is the victory giver. He is the overcomer. We just have to take Him at His word the way Abraham did. We just have to fight and win our mental battle.

So how did Abraham overcome? What did he use? Abraham decided to consciously control his thoughts and to think only of the good things. Both good and evil thoughts were presented to him. He could either believe God or reject the Word of God. He decided to think only of that which was true, that which was holy, that which was righteous. He consciously rejected every doubt presented by Satan. He consciously accepted all faith presented by God.

And we should point out here that it is not logic, or intellectualizing, or how smart you are, or your education, or what church you go to, or that we have to figure things out. It is simply a matter of accepting one thought over another. Wisdom, earthly wisdom, actually gets in the way. That is the devils trick. He used it on Eve, he will use it on you. Earthly carnal wisdom is not of God.

What was Eve’s mistake? She was deceived. She had two thoughts, one from God, and one from the devil. The devil’s thoughts played to the lust of her flesh. In her mind was a battle. On the one hand God said if you eat you will die. On the other hand the devil said, you won’t really die physically, but it will be a death of your ignorance and you will be wise like God. How long did this battle rage? We are not told. But what we are told is that Eve decided to reject the Word of God and believe the devil’s lie over God. It was her decision as to which thought she was to think. She decided to think the devil’s thoughts. And that is where she actually fell.

We today have two sets of thoughts going into our mind. We too have to decide which thoughts we are going to think. And like I said earlier, when we accept the thought, we become obedient to both the thought and to the spirit from whence it came. This is a critical point.

Romans 8: 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

The mind, the thoughts of the mind determine us. To be spiritually minded is life and peace. To be spiritually minded is to have spiritual thoughts, or more precisely thoughts from the Holy Spirit. To be carnally minded is to have carnal thoughts. And the carnal thoughts are an enemy against God. Carnal thoughts disbelieve the Word of God. Carnal thoughts deny the power of God. Carnal thoughts build our pride. Carnal thoughts play to the lusts of our flesh. Carnal thoughts come from the devil. By our thoughts we decide whom we serve. If we embrace the thoughts of God we are serving God, but if we embrace the thoughts of the devil we are serving the devil.

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness: 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Whom do you obey? Notice the use of the personal pronoun, whom. He does not say what you obey, as of a thing, but whom as of a person. Unbelief leads unto death. What does it mean to obey unbelief? It is simply to believe and accept the devil’s lie. When we obey an idea we are obeying the author of that idea, and when we reject and idea we are rejecting the author of that idea as well. And the authors of all ideas are spirits.

To obey righteousness is to accept the word of God, for we are told that we “obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine” that was delivered us by the apostles. So to believe the Word of God is to obey God and to disbelieve it is to obey the devil. And we fight the battle in our minds and when we have made our decision on what to believe, we open our heart to it and it enters in. Amen? When we make our decision on what we are going to believe, we open our heart to it and both the thought and the author, the spirit, of the thought enter in.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The words that Jesus spoke are both spirit and life. When we receive them, when we decide within our minds that we are going to believe them, those words and the spirit from whence they came enter into us. It is when we decide to believe the word of God that we become servants of righteousness. It is when we reject the word of God that we become servants of unbelief, servants of sin, servants of the devil. Everyone that rejects the revealed word of God for the hour is a servant of the devil.

Now that also brings the topic of interpretation of the Word of God. We can settle that right quick.

2 Peter 1: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The first one to “interpret” the Word was the devil in Eden. We find the devil interpreting the word to Jesus after his forty day fast as well. All private interpretations are demonic. God interprets his own word by bringing it to pass. It is as it is written, and it means what it says. We do not need to interpret a single word. The Bible interprets itself, word upon word, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little there a little.

Every denomination has its own “interpretation” of the scriptures and every single one of them is wrong. The moment we try to interpret that is the moment we fall away. We interpret because we do not believe it as it is written. Or more to the point we do not believe.

The battle rages on. We hear the word of God the same as the world does but to us it is eternal life, peace and hope. The difference is that when we hear it we decide to believe it. We decide that the word of God is true. We accept what we hear, the way we hear it, and when we do it goes into our hearts. And more importantly when we accept the word of God, we also receive the Spirit of God into our hearts.

When an unbeliever hears the word of God he decides that it is not true. He either rejects it flatly, or puts his own twist on it to make it fit his fleshly lusts. That is interpretation. An “interpreted” word is a lie. When the unbeliever hears the word of God he rejects truth, rejects faith, and accepts unbelief of the word and the unbelief, along with the spirit of unbelief which is a devil, enters his heart.

Hebrews 4: 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

The unbelievers and make believers heard the very same words that the believers heard. It is the same today. The difference is that the unbelievers rejected the word and did not believe it as truth. The unbelievers prefer a lie over the truth.

When we hear the word of God, it corrects us, shows us the right way. In order to accept the truth we have to admit that we are wrong in the first place. We have to be humble and teachable to receive the truth. If we are proud and cannot admit our faults, cannot receive correction, then we have to reject the word of God. We then will gladly accept the lies of the devil because he will tell us exactly those things that our proud, carnal, lustful flesh wants to hear.

Look at Cain and Abel for an example. They both heard the same message from the same prophet, Adam. They both went to church to worship. They both had altars and brought sacrifices. But they had different thoughts. Abel’s thoughts were in line with God’s thoughts and Cain’s were not. Then even when God went to Cain to straighten him up, and God spoke to Cain lip to ear and told him the truth, Cain decided to reject God’s words and instead accept the devil’s thoughts. The devil is a murderer and his thoughts are murderous. When Cain accepted the devil’s thoughts he fulfilled the devil’s lusts by murdering his own twin brother.

Whose thoughts are we accepting? Are we accepting God’s thoughts this morning? Are you accepting the Word of God or rejecting it. If you’ve gotten this far I am thinking you are accepting it. What is in your mind right now? The battle is raging, whose thoughts are you going to accept? Who are you allowing into your heart? Are you going to accept the Holy Spirit or Satan?

Hebrews 9: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

We are not just freed from the guilt of sin but the blood of Christ will actually purge your conscience. It will utterly clean you out. It will take away the desire for dead works, for the lies of the devil and for fleshly things of this world. It will give us victory over the battle in our minds. We have overcoming power in Christ Jesus that did not exist before the crucifixion. They used to sin, and then bring sacrifices and then go back to sin. But we have the opportunity to receive Jesus himself into our hearts. We have the opportunity given to us to receive both the spirit and the mind of Jesus Christ. And it is that mind of Christ, that holy mind in us that will give us victory over our thoughts so that we can freely choose to believe the word of God.

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.

Here in Romans Paul is discussing a lot of bad things done by people. And he gives the cause as well. They did not like to retain God in their knowledge. They did not like the thoughts of God and rejected them. When they heard the word of God, they rejected that word. And because they did God gave them over to a reprobate mind. Their minds were reprobate. And because their minds, and thus their thoughts, were reprobate, they performed all the disgusting evil acts spoken of in that chapter.

If, however, we have the mind of Christ then we will think his thoughts. We will believe his words. We will overcome in the battle. And it is a promise to every Christian. And it is only for the Christian, only for the predestinated seed. It is only by the Holy Spirit that we can know these things, and only by the Holy Spirit through revelation that we can believe them. Without revelation we will never understand the things of God. And if we choose to disbelieve them, we will never get revelation.

When Jesus told the people to eat his flesh and drink his blood the apostles did not know what he meant, but they chose in their minds to believe his words regardless. Not knowing the revelation they believed the words and because they chose to believe him, they were later given the revelation that he was speaking of the Lord’s Supper.

1 Corinthians 2: 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Do I hear an AMEN?

Are we receiving this morning? Are we choosing to believe the word of God or are we passing it off as foolishness? Are we thinking God’s thoughts or the thoughts of the devil? The devil will surely in telling you his thoughts too, but which thoughts are you choosing to believe? Do you believe this word? That is God. Do you understand this word that you are hearing? That is God, for without revelation from God you would not understand a single thing I am writing. If you are not called for eternal life then you will believe that everything I am telling you is pure foolishness.

2 Thessalonians 2: 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie; 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Reject the word of God, decide not to believe it and you will believe any lie that comes your way. If we decide to believe the truth, the Word of God, and we think the thoughts of God, then God will reveal that word to us by his Holy Spirit. But if we reject it, consider it foolishness, decide not to believe it, then we will be completely blinded to it and in total darkness we will gladly receive any lie the devil feeds us.

In the Old Testament we are told of the feast of Jubilee. Every fifty years they had a celebration and one of the activities was the freeing of slaves. If you were a slave at Jubilee, when they blew the trumpet, you could go free. But if you preferred to be a slave, then your master would take you to the gate of the city and pierce your ear with an awl and you would be a slave to him for all eternity.

2000 years ago Jesus paid the price for our deliverance. Today when we hear the gospel trumpet proclaiming our freedom we can walk free from the slavery of the devil. But if we reject that trumpet then the devil will pierce our ear and we will become deaf to the truth and no matter how many times that gospel trumpet blows in our ears, we will be reject it in favour of the devil’s lies. That is the strong delusion. When we reject the word of God, the trumpet of salvation, we become deaf and blind to the word of God. We will not be able to discern right from wrong. We will look at a scripture written simply in black and white and not get it. That is why no church baptizes according to Acts 2:38 any more, they have rejected the truth and been pierced.

The religious world rejected Luther’s message and went off into a catholic apostasy. When the Lutheran’s rejected Wesley’s message they too went off into a catholic apostasy. And on up it went to where you can hardly tell the difference between a Pentecostal and a catholic today. And if we reject the message to this hour, we too shall surely fall victim. Perusia. Return ministry. Seven thunders. How many others are out there today?

Get back to the word. We have to keep our minds on the word thinking God’s thoughts with the mind of Christ.

Our thoughts determine both our words and our actions. Proverbs 23:7 tells us, that “as a man thinks in his heart so is he”. Remember where the thoughts come from and where they go to. The thoughts in our minds that we decide to think about go straight to our hearts along with the authors of those thoughts.

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Can we say this about ourselves today? I surely hope so and I trust that I can. I do believe that we all are receiving the word of God with readiness of mind, choosing to believe what God has said. And I trust that everyone reading here will search these scriptures and make sure that what I have said is indeed Bible.

So I have mentioned the thoughts of God. Let’s find out what the thoughts of God are concerning us so that we can think His thoughts. I am not talking about major doctrines right now like baptism and the godhead. We’ll hunt lions later but this morning lets hunt foxes. The little foxes spoil the vine. The daily thoughts in our heads spoil our vine and sour our fruit.

What is our daily attitude like? It is easy, maybe to be up on Sundays and Wednesday evenings, but what about all the other times? What will our thoughts be on Monday morning? Tuesday at lunch? Will we be thinking God’s thoughts? Will we be completely immersed in the things of the world? Will we have forgotten this sermon? These are questions we need to ask ourselves and answer. We need to search ourselves, to examine ourselves whether or not we are in the faith.

It all comes down to attitude. What is our attitude, towards the word of God in particular and life in general? Have you ever been around a complainer? No matter what is going on they will find something wrong with it, something to whine about. They depress you and sap the life from you. It is a spirit. That same spirit will talk to you to. That same spirit comes to all of us and points out what is wrong. He has already told you what is wrong with this blog, what is wrong with the way I am speaking, what is wrong with my suit, what is wrong with the scriptures I have used, what was wrong with the song service, what is wrong with the way the benches are placed in the church. He will find something wrong with everything and point it out to us. Now that is not to say we have to be blind to that what is contrary to the Word of God. But our attitude will make the difference. Our attitude will determine which thoughts we will embrace, and which ones we will reject.

We as Christians need to have the attitude that the Bible is our absolute and every word is true. Then we need to act on that thought. We need to claim every promise in the Bible as our own. Regardless of what the physical circumstances seem to be, we as children of God have a right and a duty to stand upon the revealed word of God. We have an inheritance in Christ Jesus and since it is by his grace and not of ourselves it does not matter how unworthy we are, we still have full right and access to it. We are not saved because we were worthy but because He IS worthy. He overcame death, hell and the grave for us and we have free access to the holiest of holies today. He is our perfect, unblemished sacrifice. We are not covered by our own dirty blood, but by the holy, perfect blood of Jesus Christ.

What are the thoughts of God towards us? What is the mind of Christ?

The Bible says that we are overcomers! The Bible says that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus! The Bible says that we are saved! The Bible says that we are healed! The Bible says that we are delivered! The Bible says that all of our sins, past, present and future are forgiven! The Bible says that we are sitting in heavenly places in Christ Jesus! The Bible says that we are the elected lady, the Bride of Jesus Christ, the predestinated children of God! The Bible says that we have eternal life! The Bible says that God will rapture us before the tribulation falls! The Bible says the dead in Christ shall raise first, incorruptible, and then we who remain will be changed in the twinkling of an eye and be caught up to meet them in the air.

The devil will tell you contrary stories. He will tell you that the signs and wonders were just for the apostles. He will tell you that we don’t need divine healing because we have medicine now. He will tell you that the days of miracles have passed.

Who are you going to listen to? Are you going to listen to the devil? NO! Rebuke him! The Bible says resist the devil and he shall flee from you. Resist the devil with the Word of God just as Jesus did in the desert. You are an overcomer! You have the victory.

When the devil tells you that you are sick, rebuke him. The Bible says that by His stripes I am healed. “Oh, but you feel sick”. I am healed! “But you have swelling and pain”. I am healed! “But the doctors have given it a name, and it’s a bad one because you can’t even pronounce it”. I am Healed. Get thee behind me satan! By His stripes I am healed.

“You have sinned and God hates you”. All my sins are in the sea of God’s forgetfulness! I am covered by the blood of the lamb! “You are serpent’s seed”. If I was serpent’s seed I would not even believe in serpent’s seed doctrine in the first place! Get thee hence Satan you are defeated, you are exposed, you are a liar and God’s truth has exposed you as a fraud.

The devil is a liar. Everything he tells you is a lie. The mere fact that he is bothering you and telling you these lies is the proof that you are a child of God. The devil never bothers those in the world, he already got them. He wants you and he comes to meet you in the battlefield of the human mind. Our defense is the word of God. Our defense is to control our thoughts, to reject the lies of the devil and to cling to and claim the promises of God.

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Do you get it? So what are we going to think about from now on?

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

And let us close with one final thought to add to this scripture.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Think on these things.

The Path of Grace

We get so wrapped up in ourselves, measuring ourselves by ourselves, judging based on comparison to how good we think we are. That is human nature. That is the flesh. We become legalistic. When someone asks “what must I do to be saved” we don’t answer their question. We tell them to stop smoking, stop lying, stop stealing etc. We tell them what not to do. But that don’t save you. What saves you is the path of grace and Jesus said “straight is the gate and narrow is the way and few there be that find it”.

Telling a drug addict to stop using will not save them, telling a drunk to stop drinking will not save them. Only Jesus Christ can save them.

The path of grace is the new birth. It, as the natural birth, comes by water, blood and spirit. The Bible says there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and there three are one and three that bear record on earth, water, blood and spirit and these three agree in one. One God, One Person, Jesus Christ. But the event of the new birth is actually three events.

Ezekiel says that God will give us a new heart, a heart of flesh to replace our heart of stone, then he will give us a new spirit, then he will give us His spirit.

When a baby is born, first the water breaks, then blood, then the life of the baby.

Israel led by Moses through the desert was baptized in the Red Sea, under the blood of the lamb at pass-over, led through the desert by the pillar of fire.

The earth was baptized in the flood, sanctified by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, and will be baptized with fire in our age where as Peter says “the very elements will melt with a fervent heat”.

So it is with us, we must be first justified, then sanctified, then filled with the Holy Spirit. That is how God does it. The Bible tells us in Acts chapter two that everyone must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and if we do, we will be filled with the Holy Spirit. So first we must be justified, and that happens when we are baptized. After we are baptized God cleans us up with the Word. We hear the word and it washes us. “Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God”. Once we are all cleaned up, then God fills us. God is Holy and thus cannot dwell in an unclean vessel. Jesus went so far to say that the world cannot receive the Holy Spirit so while there is anything of the world in us, we cannot receive the Holy Spirit. We must get sanctified first.

Liken it to a man needing a drink of water. he goes and finds a glass he wants to use. It is dirty, covered in cob webs, maybe has a cigarette butt in it and some bugs. When he chooses and picks that glass he has justified it. He has put his seal on it that it is his and he is going to use it. It just isn’t fit for use yet. That is our baptism. Jesus Christ justifies us and chooses us and calls us even though we are no where ready for use. Our heart of stone is replaced with a heart of flesh. That man takes that glass to the sink and gets some soap and water and starts to scrub. Scrubbing and washing, working on the glass, some glasses clean up quick, some take a little extra elbow grease. Slowly things in our lives get washed out. The very desire for these things that led us astray goes away. We become sanctified. We have a new spirit.

And once we are completely cleaned out. All the bugs and junk from the world is removed. All the stains of sin are washed away we are clean, we are sanctified, we are ready for use. But you cannot drink from an empty glass. So as a man would fill that glass with cold, clean, pure water to satisfy his thirst, God fills us with living water, with the Holy Spirit to quench the thirst of the world.

So stop telling people what they need to not do, and tell them what they need to do. And what they need to do is to accept Jesus Christ as their lord, as their saviour, as their healer, as their deliverer, as their god. Don’t try to lead them away from sin, just lead them to Christ and let Him do His work on them. It is God that saves so let God do his job. Your job is to be a light.

May the Lord Jesus Christ richly bless you.

Examine Yourselves, Whether You be in the Faith

So you got the message. Great, what are you doing with it?

2 Corinthians 13: 5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

I wrestled with this scripture for days. I had nothing on it. It didn’t make sense, I had no direction. I seemed that the Lord wasn’t with me. I couldn’t break through. I wondered if I had the right scripture. I wanted to erase it and start over but something kept pulling me back. I can tell you that anything I have to say today is from God because I had nothing. I had absolutely nothing to say, no thoughts, no ideas, no explanations. I had drawn a complete blank. And I searched the scriptures. I looked up the words in the dictionary. I looked for other scriptures with the same words to no avail. Day after day and getting further away and more confused and disheartened. Then in a moment, in a few seconds, the Lord God opened it up to me. He gave me a wonderful revelation on this little passage and it all made sense. I will warn everyone in advance, this is a gristly piece of meat, but I trust everyone here is weaned off the milk. Now by the grace of God I pray the Lord will take over and reveal it to you too.

So let’s break it down. There are seven interlocking phrases here. Seven is perfection. So in one line Paul has managed to interlace seven ideas. And as they are interlaced we will have to look at them in groups to see just how they relate, for they all blend to form one central theme.

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith”. Here Paul tells us to examine, to test ourselves to see whether or not we are in the faith. These are the first two ideas. So lets look at the first thought. We need to examine ourselves. The word examine here is from the Greek word peirazo, which means to test, tempt, to try to trap. The difference here between this temptation and what we normally call temptation is in the motivation; this tempting is not tempting to sin or to fall but a “test that might determine and sharpen true character”. This is an interesting take on it. It is not just to look inside and ask some questions. This is telling us to test it. To definitively answer a question. What we in engineering call a non-destructive test. Not a test to cause a failure, but a test to prove the structural worthiness. A test that will determine our TRUE character. We are told to test ourselves to see whether we be “in the faith”.

“In the faith”. This is idea number two. Before we go deeper into discussion on the test, we need to briefly discuss what we are testing for. Testing to see if we are “in the faith”. Let’s put this in more modern vernacular; say it as we most often hear it today. Examine yourselves whether you be “in the message”. Does that bring it a little closer home? Are we “in the message”? It will take a little to bring out what that really means, but first, now that we have an idea of what we are testing for, we need to go back and look at the testing itself.

So as we found out, the examination is a testing, a temptation based testing; a trial of sorts. So what kinds of trials does the Bible tell us about?

James 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience, 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

So James agrees with Paul, and tells us that the examination or trial of our faith works patience. So if we obey Paul and do this self examination it will bring patience as well. And we see that patience has a perfect work, making us perfect. And perfect means to be complete and lacking nothing. It looks like I am going off on a tangent but stick with me and you’ll see it come together shortly. So to get there, to get to perfection we must first see whether or not we are even in the faith, in the message, and to do that we must examine ourselves with trials. So what kind of trials are they talking about here?

1 Peter 1:6 wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

We are to be tried with manifold temptations and fire. That doesn’t sound like fun does it? We must examine ourselves and now according to Peter those tests or trials are not just temptations but manifold temptations. They are many temptations overlapping each other. And he also tells us that those trials are more precious than gold. Why? What makes them more precious than gold? Those trials will show us if we are indeed in the message, and they will also bring patience, which will bring us to perfection, so that we will be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

Maybe the trials don’t seem so bad when we consider the reward. Take Moses for an example.

Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.

Moses was tried. He was tried through the lusts of his flesh, tried through his weakness, through his ambition, through his pride, but he was proved by the trials. He esteemed the reproaches of Christ of more value. He had respect unto the recompense of the reward. Think about it. He was next in line to be pharaoh. He would have been the ruler of the richest, most powerful country on earth. He was being handed the ultimate worldly gift and he refused it. He examined himself and found that he indeed was in the faith. Moses was in the message, in the faith. Even the messenger must be tried this way. And that faith is what gave him the patience to wait for the recompense of reward. His trial proved his faith and gave him patients to work his perfection and he was found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ on the mount of transfiguration, he will preach to the 144,000 in Israel with Elijah after the rapture, and will be again at the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

So where do the fiery trials come from? Certainly we don’t intentionally bring them on ourselves, that would be tempting God. And the Bible goes further to say to “flee fleshly lusts that war against the soul” and warns us not to “provide an occasion to the flesh for sin”. So we are to examine ourselves with trials and temptations but not to bring those temptations upon ourselves. So where do the temptations come from and how do we use them to examine ourselves?

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed.

So the temptations are not of God. The Lord does not tempt any of us. We are tempted by our own lusts. The very desires of our physical flesh and our carnal natures are the root of our temptations. We receive manifold temptations from manifold lusts. And as Moses, when we endure the fiery trials we shall, as Peter told us earlier, be found to praise and honour at the returning of the Lord Jesus Christ, receiving a crown of life.

So our examination of ourselves is to compare how we react to these temptations with how we are supposed to react to these temptations. God gives us a choice, life or death. The devil will entice us through the lusts of our flesh, through our weakness, our ambition, our pride etc. We are instructed here to use these temptations as a testing ground to see where we stand with God. Here we come to a contention: Works vs. Faith.

Listen close. This is a cause and effect relationship. We are not saved by works. That is the absolute truth. But, if we are saved, then we will have the works. People get this completely mixed up. Some will say we are saved by grace so the works don’t count at all and if you speak of works at all to them they get very angry and accuse you of being a works preacher, a legalist, a Pharisee. The Bible does not say that at all. Let’s take James. I am going to break this scripture up and change the order of the verses to bring the point home a little deeper.

James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works and by works was faith made perfect?

Do you see it? Works do not bring salvation – but salvation brings the works. Our works will never bring us into the message, but once we are in the message, once we are in the faith, that faith will produce the works. Let me give you the rest of that scripture out of James. We have to understand this point before we can move on.

James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.

Works to not bring faith, neither will they bring you salvation. Salvation is by grace alone. It is the gift of God, paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. But how does faith come? Faith cometh by hearing the word of God. Is that Bible? So works do not lead to faith or salvation, but salvation and faith DO lead to works.

That is where people get it mixed up. They put the proverbial cart before the horse. They get their fur up and say works don’t save me I am saved by grace. AMEN! But stop using it as an excuse to try to explain away your lack of works. Instead, as James says, show me your faith and salvation by your works. If you are saved then there will be works in your life to testify of your salvation. Let’s take one more scripture on this line.

John 14: 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. 12 Verily, verily I say unto you. He that believs on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go into my Father.

Jesus sums it up pretty good there. First He tells us that the works were the testimony that he was the Messiah. The works testified of His faith. Not just the miracles, but all the works! And let’s be blunt, if you do not have the daily works, if the Holy Spirit is not manifested in you, if you are not reflecting Jesus Christ on a daily basis bearing the fruit of the spirit, you won’t have the miracles in your life either. Remember the little foxes spoil the vine. Then Jesus tells us plainly that if we have faith, then we will have works too and that our works will be the same as His.

So then we have the first part put together. We have to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith, in the message. And we are to examine ourselves by seeing what kind of works we have. Our works, especially relating to temptations, define our true character and thereby will tell us whether or not we are in the message. By our fruits they shall know us, and we shall know ourselves. Amen?

So then with this in mind, what does it mean to be “in the message”? We hear it all the time. What does it mean? Does it mean to know the quotes? Does it mean to believe that Brother Branham was a prophet? Does it mean to attend a “message church”? What does it really mean to be “in the message”? To be in the faith? There are many who fit the above description and are not actually in the message.

Here we come to the text of this little lecture. The message. WE HAVE THE MESSAGE! That is great. Isn’t that great? I think that is wonderful.

You have the message. What are you doing with it?

What are we doing with it? If I were to ask each person reading here to stand up one by one and tell us all, what they are doing with the message, what would be the response? I am not going to make each person stand and give an account for what they did with the message, Jesus, however, will do that. And it won’t be in front of a couple of dozen people, it won’t be by the anonymity of the internet, it will be in front of every human being who ever lived.

Let’s look at that text for a moment. And let’s be perfectly honest with ourselves. What are we doing with this message? Why is it important and how important is it? Jesus explains it nicely in a parable. Matthew 25. He tells us of a certain King who went away and left men in charge. And to each man he gave a sum of money to look after for him. And there were three men who received different amounts. The first two invested the money, they put it to work. The third didn’t. He was too afraid to put the money to work. And when the Lord came back he rewarded and praised the two profitable servants. They had put to work that which they received of the Lord and had returned it to him with interest earned. But to the third one, the fearful one with the lukewarm, Laodicean attitude, He had a different answer. Turn to it with me, I want everyone to see this.

Matthew 25: 24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou are an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid; and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26 His lord answered and said unto him, thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 28 Take therefore the talent from him and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29 for unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away ever that which he hath. 30 and cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

So let me ask again. What are we doing with the message? What are you doing with the revealed word of God for the hour? Are we putting it to work in our lives? Or are we hiding it? How many reading here have testified to someone in the last week? The last Month? The last Year? are you testifying of Jesus Christ, of what He has done for you, of who he is, of his promises, of his healing, of his deliverance, of his salvation. When is the last time we brought a stranger in to church with us? When is the last time we invited someone? Can you remember? Does anyone feel a little ashamed right now?

How are our lives? Do we live this message? Examine yourselves, look to your trials and temptations. Look to your daily activities. Look to your daily interactions with people. Do you have victory? What are your works like? Are you putting the message to work in your life? Are you living the message for all to see? What are people seeing in you? Are they seeing Jesus Christ? Are we written epistles read of all men? What are others reading in us? What are our works? Are they the works of the flesh or of the spirit? Are they the works of Jesus Christ? Be perfectly honest with yourself right now. It is between you and the Lord God.

We got the message. Amen! That’s great. So what are we doing with it?

There are over 1100 of the prophet’s sermons on tape. There are many thousands more by other preachers available online, all free. If you listened to one a night every night it would take you 3 years to go once through Brother Branham’s works. At one a week it would take you 20 years. How many here have listened to every tape? How many people “in the message” do you suppose have listened to every tape? Some act like they have every tape memorized. Yet their lives sometimes appear as though they have never heard even one.

Are the tapes the message? Do you have to listen to every tape? Do you have to listen to tapes at all?

What is the message anyway? What is this wonderful message that we have, that we are so proud of? The message is the revealed word of God for the hour. What is the Word of God? The Word of God is the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, if we are in the message then we must be in Jesus Christ. And if we are in Jesus, then Jesus is also in us. Is that Bible? That is the scripture that we first read. So by our works, by our temptations, by our lives, we can examine ourselves to see whether we are in Jesus Christ, or not.

What was the sign that you have the Holy Spirit? What were the 120 in the upper room told to wait for? POWER! Now is it coming together. Power. Power to do the works. Power to overcome temptations. Power to live the message every day. Power to believe the word of God, not just a carnal mental understanding but genuine faith to believe it in the face of every contrary idea or evidence. So we must examine ourselves to see if we have power to overcome our temptations, the power to live Christ-like in every situation.

If we have power to overcome our flesh, for we are tempted when we are led away and enticed of our fleshly lusts, then we are in the message. If this message, this revealed word of God, Jesus Christ himself, permeates every minute of every day of our lives then we are indeed in the message. If it is in our thoughts, if it is in our hearts, then we are in the message. If our works are the works of the message, the works of Word of God, the works of Jesus Christ, then we are indeed in the message. If we are written epistles read of all men, as Paul tells us, we are in the message. If we bear the fruits of the spirit, then we are in the message. And when we examine ourselves and find ourselves falling short we repent and God cleanses us and strengthens us and then to Him it is as though we never fell short in the first place. Is that Bible?

Lamentations 3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord.

So there are setbacks. But the Bible shows us that those who are called and chosen, even though they get occasionally knocked down, will get back up, search our ways, examine ourselves and turn again unto the Lord. The Bible says to prove our own selves. Prove. Remove all doubt. Do we have doubt? Doubt is unbelief. We have to be sure. We need to be absolutely sure of our salvation. The Bible warns us not to be double minded. Are we sure? Are we proven? Do we know ourselves? Our scripture asked that question. Do we know ourselves? How can we have confidence in our salvation unless we know ourselves? The Bible tells us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. Work it out. Prove it. Then you will have confidence in it.

If we do not examine ourselves through trials and search out our own hearts with the word then we do not know ourselves. How many times have you heard someone brag about what they would do in a certain situation; a situation they have never actually faced. They would do this, and they would do that, and they would do such grand and wonderful things. Put them in the situation and you will see what they would do. You have heard the saying. ‘kick a bucket of honey and honey comes out; kick a bucket of vinegar and vinegar comes out’. Exactly. You are proving the bucket and examining it by trials.

So too we cannot know ourselves until we see how we actually behave during trials. Do you have faith in divine healing? Get sick, really sick, sometime and see. Do you have faith for God to provide for you? Loose you job one day and you will find out. Do you have the love, faith and patience to turn the other cheek? You may think that you do. You will never really know till you take a punch. Until you go through that trial you truly have no idea what kind of a person you are or how you would react. This my brothers and sisters is a simple truth. It is the trial alone that will determine and prove your character.

Look at Peter. He was a big strong man. He thought he knew himself. He didn’t think he had any fear in him. Peter once bragged of his abilities and the wonderful things he would do in a given situation that he had never faced. And he was not lying in his mind, he fully believed what he said. What did Peter say, and think, that he was able to do? Do you remember?

St. John 13:37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake. 38 Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

Not just once but three times. The very same night that Peter bragged of his ability to pass the test, he was tried and completely failed that very test three times in a row. Peter was sure that he had what it took. He bragged about it. But when the rubber hit the road he could not perform. Peter did not know himself. He was not proved. He thought that he did, but what he knew was his own imagination. He was not measuring himself justly, by examination and the word of God, but he was measuring himself against himself. We shall see that in a bit. And it turned out that his measure was completely wrong.

Galatians 6:4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

Let every man (and woman; sisters you won’t get off easy on this) prove his own work. See it is works again. Those works prove whether we are in the message. Peter’s response to the little girl who accused him of being with Jesus proved what he was. Peter was with Jesus for three and a half years. Peter worked in the message. He even preached. Yet Peter’s works proved that he was not actually in the message, not yet at least. You see it is not belief alone. It was not enough for Peter to believe that Jesus was the Messiah in his mind and it is not enough for us to just believe the message in our minds. An intellectual understanding of the message will do you no good whatsoever. The devil believes in one God and trembles. Why does the devil tremble? Because his works are evil. And so we find it today.

All through the Bible you will see twins. Cain and Abel. Jacob and Esau. Jesus and Judas, not twins in flesh but twins in type. Moses and Balaam. Ishmael and Isaac. One of the flesh and one of the spirit. And the one of the flesh hates the one of the spirit, and persecutes him. Why?

1 John 3:12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.

Abel’s works condemned Cain. Abel was a written epistle. When Cain looked at Abel he saw the works of Jesus Christ. Abel lived the message and his very life condemned Cain. They both believed. They both worshipped. They both went to church. They both had the message of the hour. Cain had the same intellectual understanding of the Word of God as Abel did. In fact Cain may have even had a greater intellectual understanding. But what were they doing with that message? Abel examined himself and proved himself that he was in the message by his righteous works and God confirmed it by giving Abel revelation.

Cain was merely religious. And Cain was very religious. He bragged the message but did not live it. He thought he was good and faithful and righteous to the point where he spoke back to God as though he was right and God was wrong. But when it came to the test Cain failed. He was reprobate because he had not examined and proved himself. He merely measured himself by himself.

Esau had the message the same as Jacob, but Jacob lived it. Every moment of every day Jacob was consumed with getting the blessing. Esau was content to quote it. He quoted it to Jacob and laughed and said give me soup and you can have the blessing. He was more concerned with fulfilling the lusts of his flesh, hunger, than he was for living the message. He was content to go to church. He was not living it at all. Jacob was consumed by it.

So we see two types here. Two types spoken of in our scripture. Know ye not that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobate.

Reprobate: Greek adokimos, failing the test, rejected, cast away.

To be Reprobate is to be failing the test. Failing the trials. Just as Cain, failing with no desire to pass. That is why Cain failed. Did you realize that? We can only fail when we have no desire to pass. That, after all, is what the test is in the end. It is a test of our character. We cannot use the excuse that the test was too hard. The Bible warns us of that.

Hebrews 12: 4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

And more to the point.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

So if we fail the test it is only because we did not try, or want to pass. Our flesh won out. Remember we found out the examination was a test of temptation to discern our true character. And our true character is our inner most motives and desires. Cain failed because his character failed. He was reprobate from the inside out, not the outside in. Remember the works don’t cause the faith, the faith causes the works. So Cain’s works were bad because his heart was reprobate. Bad trees don’t give good fruit. If a tree is sick, the fruit will be sick also. Cain had bad fruit because he was bad down through to the roots. Jesus said men cannot gather figs from thorns. Our outside is a reflection of our insides.

Hebrews 12: 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 for ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

The Bible tells us that Esau was a profane person. Profane, godless, worldly. Sold out for a morsel of meat. Sold out his spiritual birthright for the lusts of the flesh. Sold out the message of his hour for religion and popularity. Sold out the Word for worldly riches. And he was rejected, failed, reprobate. He had the message. He knew the message. He heard it straight from the prophet of his hour, Isaac. He had an intellectual understanding of the message and memorized every word of it but he had never put it to the test in his life. He was a believer, just like Cain. But he was profane just like Cain. He was only a hearer of the message not a doer of it. What was Esau doing with the message? Nothing. He was not living it. He was not examining himself. He was not proving himself. He did not know himself. He thought that he was able to receive the blessing, and when it came time to receive the blessing he was a reprobate. Jacob on the other hand was examining himself daily. He was living the message. Everything in his life was centered on the birthright, which was the message of his hour.

The man in the parable that Jesus spoke of, Cain, Esau, Judas, they had the message. And they knew the truth. They did not live it and even what they seemed to have was taken from them. It is the living of the message that will take it from an intellectual understanding and turn it into a spiritual understanding. Not just to hear the word but to act upon it. Abraham heard the Word. It did him no good whatsoever. It didn’t do him a bit of good to hear God tell him to separate himself and travel across the continent to a land that was prepared for him. He had an intellectual understanding of it but it wasn’t until he acted upon it, till he put that message to work in his life exactly as it had been spoken, that the message became alive to him. The message was of no use, of no value to Abraham until he became a doer of the word. In fact he wasn’t even Abraham until his live completely expressed the message; he was simply Abram. He could have stayed in Ur and died an old man with no blessing, no country, no children and a wonderful intellectual understanding of the message with every word memorized. But Abraham was different. When he heard the word of God he acted upon it. That is true faith. When you have faith you will act upon the word of God!

James 1: 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholds himself, and goes his way and straightway forgets what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Here it is again. Cain was a hearer of the word. He heard it straight from the mouth of God. It didn’t do him any good. Esau was a hearer of the word. It didn’t help him one bit. They, as in the scripture, after hearing the word go away and forget what manner of men they are. How could they not know what manner of men the are? They failed to examine and prove themselves. They thought they had the message and that was enough. But it wasn’t enough. The message will not help you if you do not apply it.

But Abel and Jacob and Abraham, they heard the word and they were also doers of the word. Their works proved their faith. They examined themselves, they proved themselves, and found by their works that they were in the faith. But if we don’t stop and examine ourselves we will go away and forget what manner of man we are; we will be a hearer only. And we will be very religious, very pious, and very reprobate.

So where do we stand? There are only two places to be, in or out. We are either in the message or we are not in the message. Either Jesus Christ, the word of God is in us, or we are reprobates. Tough word isn’t it? But we have to understand this. When the door of the ark closed, it was too late, you were either living the message of Noah, or you were dead on your feet. They all heard it. Noah preached to the world for 120 years, but the world was full of reprobates.

And Jesus told us that as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the son of man. We had a vindicated prophet with the ministry of Elijah as foretold in Malachi 4:5-6 and Revelation 10:7. The world has heard the message for over 70 years now. How many are doers of the message? Look at the age we live in. We are in the Laodicean age. And it is the same in this age as in Noah’s age. The world is eating and drinking and giving in marriage, knowledge is increased, men’s hearts are continually imagining evil. The church is full of lukewarm hearers who never get enough fire in them to actually apply the message that they are so proud of.

They will tell you that they worship just like you do. They have the message. They got baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. They sing and they pray. And we cannot argue. Cain prayed. Simon the sorcerer was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Did you realize that? So what is the difference?

Proverbs 21: 27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind?

The sacrifice, the worship of a reprobate is abomination. The prayers and worship of a reprobate is something that stinks so bad it makes God physically ill. And how much more when it is brought with a reprobate mind. He said of the Laodicean church that it is such an abomination that He will spew them out of His mouth. This age is so dirty and evil that it makes the Lord God puke. How can this be? How can people sit and hear a vindicated message and not be saved through it? How do they hear it and not examine themselves with it?

2 Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, are not wise. 13 But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.

They measure themselves against themselves. They measure themselves by their imaginations, what they think they would do in a given situation. As Timothy tells us they are boasters, proud, blasphemers, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. The power. Deny the power to overcome, to live the message. The quote the message, go to church, sing and dance and shout amen at just the right time, maybe in preach, but denying that very same message with their lives.

We are supposed to measure ourselves according to the rule that God gave us, which is the Word of God. But the reprobates will measure by their own rule, as Cain did. They rely on a feeling, on a sensation, imagination and on carnal wisdom and logic. Their measuring post is wrong. How are we measuring ourselves? What is our guideline? The Word of God! That must be our absolute! We have to measure ourselves by the Word of God alone for we will be judged by the Word of God alone. That is why Paul wrote to us:

Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Till we all come into the unity, of the faith, the unity of the message. Unto the MEASURE of the stature of the fullness of Christ. That is our measuring stick; The fullness of Jesus Christ. The works that He did will we do also. We must examine ourselves and see whether our works match His works. If Jesus Christ is in us then our works will match His works, and our lives will reflect his life.

Remember the analogy the prophet gave about Beethoven. He said if I had the spirit of Beethoven I would write beautiful songs like he did. It’s the same. If we have the spirit of Jesus Christ then we will have the very same works. Examine yourselves! Prove yourselves! Measure up! Do we measure up?

Are we growing in him every day? We may not be perfect yet, but what direction are we moving? If we are hearers of the word we are moving backwards but if we are doers of the word we are moving forward. Did you know that? There is no standing still with God. You should know it. When you hear the word of God you either accept it, and repent and do what the word says and are washed by it and move closer to God, closer to the stature of a perfect man, or you reject it and are judged by it and become reprobate. We either examine ourselves and judge ourselves comparing our works with the works of Jesus or we reject the word sinning willfully and are condemned.

1 Corinthians 11: 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

If we judge ourselves. How do we judge ourselves? If we examine our works and compare them with the works of Christ. Compare them with the Bible and see where we stand. Judge ourselves. Admit when we are wrong and make it right. Admit our shortcomings. Repent. We have 4000 years of written history to compare ourselves to. That is why we have the history. Remember earlier we looked to Moses for an example.

1 Corinthians 10: 11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

The history is written for us to compare. It is for our admonition, to give us a measuring stick, and show us where we come short. We must take heed lest we become reprobate. And it is not a one time thing. It has to be an every day thing. Not just on Sundays and Wednesdays but every day.

And we cannot just imagine how we would act or react in a given situation.

Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 professing themselves to be wise they became fools.

When they knew God, when they knew the message, they failed to glorify God. Becoming vain in their imaginations, measuring themselves against themselves, hearer of the word only, their hearts become darkened. They did not know themselves. They did not examine themselves with that word that they heard and in the trials of life. They did not prove themselves but professing wisdom, they became fools. Do we profess wisdom? To be brag that we have the light, we have the vindicated message, we have the word of God’s prophet? What are you doing with that message?

I know a fellow that I was talking to a while ago. He said he had total faith in Jesus. If he had total faith in Jesus then how come he could not muster enough faith to be delivered from smoking? Total faith? He was measuring himself by himself. He did not know himself at all. He thought he had total faith but ion reality he has little or no faith at all. He is reprobate.

You are hearing the word today. Are you hearing the Word? If I am not speaking the word please tell me so I can stop. So do we agree that we are hearing the word. Are we hearing the message of the hour? Good, that is the first step, but it will do us no good whatsoever just to sit and hear it. We need to do what we hear! We need to start living this message. We need to examine ourselves daily! We need to prove ourselves! Find out where we stand! Find our weaknesses. Find our faults. Judge ourselves and correct ourselves. Test ourselves. We need to apply this message to our lives, every word and every day.

Do we know ourselves yet? Have you examined yourself today? Are we hearers of the word only or doers of it? How many here are going to do what you are reading today? Who is going to live the message for all the world to see? Nobody wants to be reprobate. And we do not have to. The only reason we will fail is if we don’t want to pass. Remember that. God promised not to allow any temptation come our way that is too strong for us and He also promised to make a way out for us. The victory has already been won for us, all we have to do is claim it in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Are we going to live this message? Are we going to be a written epistle read of all men? Are we going to examine ourselves daily with this word and see how we measure up? Are we going to prove ourselves? We have been given royal seeds, lets go plant them.

Then we are going to build patience and will be found in praise and honour at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is a crown of life waiting for everyone here today. Eternal life is promised to every soul in this building. A mansion is sitting in heaven waiting for each and every one of us to occupy. We just need to examine ourselves, know ourselves and prove ourselves daily as we see the end approaching. We need to persevere. God said that we would not be tempted above that we are able. He has already made a way out for us. He has already won the victory. So there is nothing left to stop us from living the message. You are the only Bible most people will ever read. So lets open up the pages of our lives to them and show them Jesus.  Let us shine our lights for all to see.

This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine.

Taking God at His Word

“Go Up and Possess the Land Which I Have Given You”

Taking God at His Word

Deuteronomy 9: 23 Likewise when the Lord sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; Then ye rebelled against the commandment of the lord your God, and ye believed him not, not hearkened to his voice.

May God add his blessing to the reading of his word.

Here Moses is making intercession for Israel. God was going to destroy the whole bunch and start over, but Moses stood in the gap. That was the spirit of Christ in Moses. That spirit of God in us is what makes us pray for our brothers and sisters and our enemies alike. Only the spirit of God in you will make you love your enemy. Only the spirit of God in us will make us forgive our enemy. The spirit of Christ was in Moses making intercession for Israel. But why did Moses have to make intercession? Why was God so angry with Israel?

They refused to take God at his word! God gave them promises and they refused to believe him. They rejected the word of God in favour of the ideas, philosophies and ideologies of men. God not only gave them promises, but he vindicated those promises to the people and the people rejected both the word and the evidence. God showed them the physical evidence of the Promised Land. Moses sent out 12 spies, one from each of the 12 tribes and they brought back the evidence of the Promised Land. The people rejected it. They saw it, they tasted it and they rejected it. Even seeing the evidence, touching the evidence they still refused to believe or have faith in God. Quite simply they did not trust God.

What would we have done in their situation? It is easy to say we would have been on Moses’ side. But would you, would I? In this situation what would you have done? Where would you stand? Ten of the spies said that the opposition was too strong. Ten out of the twelve said it would be impossible to take the land. Only two of the spies, Joshua and Caleb trusted in God and believed his word, and gave a testimony that Israel would be more than able to overcome.

You see, when we look back at these stories, we already know who Moses was and what the end result was. So we know going in that Moses was right. We see the behaviour of Israel and think it foolish because we know in advance that Moses, Joshua and Caleb were right. But what if we didn’t know?
We have the history books to show us that in the end the minority was right and the majority was very much wrong. We know in advance that everything God told Israel about the Promised Land was absolutely true. We know in advance that tey marched into Palestine and took over lock stock and barrel. But if we were there, if we were in their shoes, if we were part of the 2,000,000 standing there at Kadesh Barnea, if all we had to go on was faith, what the Bible says and what a minority of preachers said, would we still believe? We are in that condition today.

Let’s look at some other promises God made and kept. At how people took God at his word and received the reward. Then let’s look at what God has promised for this day.

How many remember how God kept his covenant to Noah, to Moses, to the Amalekites. It took 500 years before God kept that promise about Amelek but he none the less kept it to the letter. God said he would destroy Amelek and he destroyed him and his nation to the last man, animal etc. Nothing was left standing. Do you think anyone believed it? Even Saul the king could not believe it, and because Saul refused it, he was judged.

God has a land of milk and honey for us. Part of what is on my heart today, and I will repeat if a few times this morning so it really soaks in. It is a land of milk and honey, not one land of milk and another land of honey, but one land of both. One land for Israel, one atonement, one finished work at Calvary.

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

He is preparing a place, a house with many mansions and for each one of us a mansion. Not a building, but a new body. We won’t need a building. We will have new bodies. We will have bodies like the angels, perfect versions of ourselves. Do you believe it? Do you really believe it?

It is in our land of milk and honey. The people in Moses day could not believe even though they were surrounded with signs, wonders and miracles. They could not believe even though they had vindication of the message that Moses brought. They could not believe even though they tasted of the treasures and had witness of the promise.

It is the very same thing today! People will not believe! We had a prophet. We have thousands of recorded signs and wonders even to the speaking into existence and raising of the dead. We have Holy Spirit anointed ministries. We have the fruits of the spirit. We have the gifts of the spirit. We even have photographs of supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit. We have the Bible. We have an open revelation of the Bible and people will still refuse to believe it. The denominations reject it. The world rejects it. And today even “message people” reject it.

Would we believe Moses’ message in his day? The answer is simple. Do you believe the message of this hour? I am not talking about giving homage to it, but really truly believing it. Do we really believe it? Do we really believe the revealed word of God for the hour?

Abraham is the father of faith. God gave a promise to Abraham. It was an impossible promise. We all know the story. He was 75 and his wife was 65 and God came to them and said he was going to give them a son. And God waited 25 years before fulfilling that promise to them, and today there are millions of Jews whose very existence proves that every word was true. What did Abraham have? All Abraham had was God’s word. He was already very old and his wife was equally ancient, and they weren’t getting any younger. Every day they both got older, day after day for 25 years. That is better than 9000 days. 9000 times Abraham went to bed old and woke up older, he went to bed weak and woke up weaker and the Bible says he fainted not at the promise of God. Then one day, he wasn’t old any more. Abraham trusted in God.

Look at your grandparents. If I stood here and told you that they were going to have another baby, and it was not going to come for another 15 years, who here would believe me. Think about it. Look at them and think about it. The thought goes against every sane thought in your head. The idea would be the most absurd thing you could imagine, that 15 years from now your grandparents would have another baby. But if God said it, it would surely happen. The question is, would we be able to trust God. Abraham did. We will look at Abraham a little more later.

God said the very same thing to Abraham and Sarah and God did it and we say we believe that God did it. Is he not the same yesterday today and forever? If God is the same then he could do the very same thing today. This is going to cut a bit but it is the truth. If we cannot truly believe that your grandparents could have another baby 15 years from now then we do not really believe that Abraham and Sarah had one when he was 100 and she was 90. That is a fact. If you can’t believe it for today then you do not really believe it for yesterday. Let that sink in. And that is not only for this word, but for each and every word of the scripture.

It has been said that we look at what God did, and what God is promising to do, and completely miss what he is doing. That is true. The reason we miss it is that we do not really believe the rest either. It is just a story, a legend, a tradition, or a fairy tale to us. We ascribe to it, but deep in our hearts we do not believe it.

Hebrews 3: 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Unbelief. What is sin? Smoking? Drinking? Lying? Stealing? What is sin? Unbelief! The only sin is unbelief, all the rest are attributes or the fruit of sin. We do those things because we do not really believe the word of God in the first place. If we lie it is because we do not believe that God can reveal the truth. Every act of unrighteousness we commit, we do so because we first rejected to believe the Word of God. We do not trust that what is written is true or that it will come to pass.

What was the sin in Eden? Unbelief! Catch this. Before Eve could receive the devil’s lie, she first had to reject God’s word. Is that Bible? Before we can believe a lie, we must first disbelieve the truth. Let that sink in. And once we reject the truth, we open ourselves up to believe the most preposterous lies and we will believe those lies with all our hearts, minds and souls. Want a scripture for it?

2 Thessalonians 2: 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie. 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Do you see the order here? First they receive not the love of the truth, they hate the truth, they reject the truth, they willfully disbelieve the truth, and then they receive a delusion to believe a lie. Cause and effect. First we reject the truth, and then we will receive a lie. And listen close, if we hear the truth and reject it, we will turn around and start believing lies that we would have never believed before. If you reject the revealed word of God for the hour, there is no lie to absurd for you to receive. Reject this revealed word of God for the hour and you will be blinded to the truth. Reject the light and you will receive darkness. Reject this revealed word of God and you will open yourself up to insanity.

The world as a whole has rejected the truth. The world has lost its mind. The American Mental Health Association estimates that 24% of people walking the streets have a diagnosable mental illness. Do you understand what that means? If fully one quarter of the world is nuts by the worlds standards of sanity, what is the real number? Would you like to know? You would not believe me so I will save that for another day.

So what does God really require of us? Did you ever stop and ask yourself that? It is so easy to quote a scripture, or jump on a favourite doctrine, but deep down beneath all of that, what does God really want from us? He wants us to trust him. He wants his children to trust him! He wants us to believe that what he said is true, and that what he promised to do, he will actually do.

Psalm 37: 39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble. 40 and the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

We sing the song:

Only trust him,

only trust him,

only trust him now.

He will save you,

He will save you,

He will save you now.

Come every soul by sin oppressed,

There’s mercy with the Lord,

And He will surely give you rest,

By trusting in his word.

God wants us to trust him. He wants us to take him at his word. Do you trust him? I’m going to go a little further today. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but a few things might come a little hard. Some may disagree with me this morning, and that is perfectly fine, disagree with me all you want, just don’t disagree with this word.

Do we trust him? Do we really trust the Lord God? To trust God is to believe his word, and to believe his word is to act upon his word. Amen? Does everyone understand and agree with that statement? If you trust God, then you trust that what he said is the truth, and you trust that he will do exactly what he promised to do. And if you trust the Lord God then you will act as though every word in the Bible is the truth and you will act as though the Lord will keep every promise that is written in the Bible. Still with me?

So what are our actions? The Lord God said to go and possess the land. What are his promises for today, what has he told us to go out and possess today, and what are our actions in relation to those promises? In other words, how much do we trust God?

Isaiah 53: 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Do we trust the Living God, the Lord Jesus Christ? The prophet Isaiah here, 700 years before Christ, was prophesying of Christ. And the word of God comes to who? The word of God comes to the prophets, so this is not a man’s word but God’s own word. Do we trust our God? It says that he took our sins. So do we transgress? He took it! Do you still have transgression in your life? Trust in the Lord God Almighty to take it away, trust in him that he had already taken it, and it shall surely go. Is that Bible? Do we trust that word? Are you acting upon that word?

It says that he healed us. Are we healed? Or are you sick? Is there anyone here sick? God said that by his stripes you are healed. Do you believe it? What are you looking at, your sickness or God’s promise. What did Abraham look at? Sarah’s 90 year old withered body, or God’s promise? What are you looking at? What are you trusting in? Are you trusting in God’s promise, or in how you feel? Are you trusting in God’s word, or in the doctor’s word? Here is one of my favourite Scriptures.

James 5: 14 Is any sick among you? Let him call the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Are there any sick people reading this? How long are you going to wait before you trust in God to keep his promise? Your actions tell your beliefs. If we believe this word of God, if we trust in God to keep his promise to us, then we will act according to his promise. If we do not trust in God, then we will go somewhere else and do something else. I told you it would get a little rough. If we trust in the doctors more than the Lord God, the King of kings, and Lord of lords, the great creator, we will go to the doctor when we are sick. If we trust God to heal us then we will not bother with the doctors. It is according to your faith. God will deal with you according to your faith, according to how much you trust him. And let me remind you that you cannot bluff the devil. Look at the seven sons of Sceva for an example.

Nothing against the doctors, thought of becoming one myself once, but why do we need them? We need them because we do not trust in God in the first place. The prophet said that doctors and medicine were God’s love gift to the unbelievers. God’s love gift to the believers was that by his stripes we are healed. If we truly trust in God then we will not need doctors. But if you doubt then you better get yourself straight to the doctor. Then go on your knees and work it out with God so you don’t need to run to the doctor the next time.

Would we have believed Moses? Moses said if you are bitten by a snake to look at the brass serpent and you would be healed. In Moses day, walking across the desert, and a rattle snake locks onto your leg, would you simply trust the Word and go stare at a snake? Today the Bible says to call the elders of the church if you are sick. If you cannot believe and obey James chapter 5 verse 14 today when you are sick today, then you never would have believed Moses message 3500 years ago in the desert. That is the honest truth. Search your souls on that and see if it isn’t so. If you believe and follow James 5:14 today, then you would have been a Joshua or Caleb in Moses day.

Healing is only one promise from the Lord God. And as I said it was not one land of milk and another land of honey, but one land of milk and honey. The atonement paid for healing, AND salvation. They are one and the same. If we don’t have the faith for healing how can we expect to have the faith for the rapture?

Faith cometh by hearing the word of God. If we don’t have enough faith, then we need to hear more of the word of God. And you don’t hear more of the word of God by skipping church. We get all busy, we have to do this, we have to do that, but what if you die Sunday night and you skipped church that morning because you had other things that were more important to you?

So lets here a little more of the word this morning. Let’s take some examples from scripture of how God keeps his word and of those who trusted in him to do it. Let’s get some faith.

Turn to Abraham again. Jehovah God, the Great I Am, told Abraham to leave all and take a long journey to a promised land. Abraham believed God and we know Abraham believed God because he acted upon what he heard. Are we acting today? Compare yourself to the patriarch Abraham and see how you stack up. Abraham left everything and followed God’s calling for him. Abraham believed God about the birth of Isaac. And after he was born, God told Abraham to go and sacrifice Isaac back to him and Abraham did it without murmur or complaint. Why? How could a man kill his child?

Hebrews 11: 17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 Of whom it was said, that in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he receive him in a figure.

Abraham trusted God. Period. He trusted God’s word and he trusted that God would keep his word even though everything looked impossible. God said in Isaac would his seed be called and yet God was asking Abraham to kill Isaac before he had any children. Abraham trusted the Lord so completely that he knew that even if Isaac died, God would be able to raise him back up. Do we have such trust in the Lord God? Do you have total trust in Jesus Christ? Believe me, as I am writing this I am asking myself the same question.

God told Noah to build and Ark to save the planet. In Noah’s day it did not rain. They had science equal to or possibly surpassing the science of today. God told Noah that he was going to destroy the world by water that was going to fall from the sky and bubble up from the deep. In Noah’s day that was absurd. Water did not fall from the sky because there was no water up there to fall. The earth was on a different orbit with a 360 day year and the climate was completely different.

So Noah was given a word of God which was completely contrary to the science and logic of the day. Yet Noah trusted in God and worked for 120 years preparing for the impossible flood and preaching to every soul about it. And after he was ready, got tested him again.

Genesis 7: 4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. 5 And Noah did according unto all that the lord commanded him. 6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth 7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. 8 Of clean beasts and of fowls, and of every ting that creepeth upon the earth, 9 There went in two and two male and female, as God had commanded Noah. 10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

Notice here what the Bible says about Noah. Noah did all that the Lord commanded him. Noah trusted God. He believed his word and we know that Noah believe because he acted as though he believed. God gave Noah a promise and waited 120 years to fulfill that promise. Then when the time was at hand, he made Noah wait another 7 days for the fulfillment. I bet those seven days were a record heat wave too. Noah marched the animals in and got ready and the people outside put on sunscreen and came down to the ark to make fun of him. They tormented him as he was loading the animals. For seven long days and nights Noah and his family sat in the ark listening to the jeers of the people outside.

Then on day seven a little cloud appeared and it grew and grew and opened up and the entire sky was filled with storm from one end of the earth to the other. What caused the flood? We don’t know, we can speculate many things, but we do not know. This is what we do know:

Genesis 7: 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

The Lord God made an impossible promise, yet in spite of the impossibility, Noah trusted in God and believed and acted upon that promise, and the Lord kept his promise. God will never fail. We fail but God cannot. He cannot lie. Once he speaks a word it is truth.

Let’s look at Gideon. He was a simple man but as the Bible says, he was a man of valour. God sent him to deliver Israel, but the Lord also greatly diminished Gideon’s resources. Why? The Lord wanted everyone to see that it was not Gideon who delivered them but the hand of God who delivered them and with severely diminished resources nobody could give the glory to man.

Judges 7: 2 And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people saying whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from the mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. 4 And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, this shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, this shall not go with the, the same shall not go. 5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the Lord said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. 6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water. 7 And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

Gideon started with 32,000 men, but if he had gone out with that huge army they would have thought that they won by their own might. So God pared them down to 300 men. He took Gideon’s army from several battalions down to a single platoon. He gave Gideon an impossible promise and Gideon trusted in the Lord God to keep his word and God surely did and Gideon completely and utterly vanquished the Midianites from the land. Would we be able to trust in God today in such a way? If a group of 300 IDF soldiers from Israel were to attack Iran’s millions, we would not hold out a hope for them, but Gideon’s 300 attacked and destroyed their enemy. If God told a platoon of Israeli soldiers to attack Iran, those 300 men would be in control of downtown Tehran by morning. Do you believe it? Why can’t we believe it for today? God is the same. Man is the same. But the people cannot believe it. Neither could they in Moses day. Neither could they in Gideon’s day, and neither could they in Noah’s day.

One day God sent his prophet Elijah to challenge the denominations of his day. They were being led by a woman preacher by the name of Jezebel. She was married to the King at the time, Ahab. She let all of Israel into idolatry. We have had a few Jezebels in our day too, and for that matter have more today than ever before. Elijah at that time had commanded, by the spirit of God, that the rain would not fall for 3 years. This was at the end of the 3rd year. God told Elijah to go to Ahab and challenge the 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of the grove to a show down on Mount Carmel.

Elijah was totally forlorn. He saw such abomination in the church that he thought he was the only one left who believed and obeyed the word of God. But the Lord God told Elijah, you’re not alone, I have reserved 7000 who have not bowed knee to Baal. Sometimes we get to feeling alone too, but don’t fear God has reserved unto himself in this day an elected bride who has not taken the mark of the beast. You might be feeling very alone while reading this. You are not alone, there is a Church spiritual on this earth that is exactly like the Book of Acts, but with the full revelation of the Word. Remember that was sealed unto the endtime, and we are at that end.

God promised Elijah to vindicate his message. Here was Elijah, one man alone with all the world, all the denominations, all the politics, all the law, all the society, all they culture completely against him. He was a hated man, left alone, unwanted, and he came alone to challenge 450 trained preachers to a showdown on their own turf. These were full Doctors of Divinity and master theologians in their day. He not only challenged them but he gave them first go. Elijah took God at his word, and proved that he trusted God by his actions and his words. We are known by our actions and words too.

1 Kings 18: 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

Who would we have sided with back then? Would we have trusted in God or in Baal? Think about it. Would we have been one of the 7000 tiny minority, or of the majority? If you want the answer to that question, look at your life today. Are you one of the few, or one of the many? We had an Elijah in our day, a preacher with the ministry of Elijah fulfilling Malachi 4:5-6 and Revelation 10:7, do you believe, or disbelieve? Do you live that message? Elijah believed and lived the message from God, he did everything that God had commanded, the way God had commanded.

Trust in God. He is not a respecter of persons. He made a promise to Noah, and he kept it, not because of Noah, but because of his word. God is obligated to his word. Everything the Lord God said he would do he will do and is doing right now. There is nothing that will stop the Lord from fulfilling his word. All he requires is that we truly believe and trust his word.

He made Gideon go out to battle hopelessly outgunned so that he could show that it was God and God alone that provided the victory. He put Gideon in an impossible situation so that he could show that there is nothing impossible for God.

He sent Elijah out into a hopeless, impossible situation with a promise that he would overcome. And God fulfilled his word exactly. He vindicated that word with supernatural signs, wonders and miracles. He never fails. Nothing is impossible for him. He is God of all, Lord of all, over all. He is the life giver. He is the healer. He is the redeemer. He is the victory giver. He is the resurrection.

We worry so much about today, and even more about tomorrow. The Lord God is the same, unchanging. Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever. Do you realize what that means? Do you really understand what that means? It means that each and every promise, each and every act, each and every miracle written in the Bible are for today, for you and for me if we will only trust in God to perform it. It all rests on us, on our faith, or lack thereof.

I had dozens of examples to draw on but not enough time even to glance over the tops of them. Daniel the prophet thrown into the lion’s den to be eaten. The three Hebrew boys thrown into the furnace to be burned. John boiled in oil for 24 hours. Samson. David. Isaac. Jacob. On and on and on. God made promise after promise and he kept every one, and always on time. He is never late and even when he seems late by our standards, he is perfectly on time.

When Lazarus died, Jesus was out of town and he never came back to town until 4 days after the fact. To the people he was 4 days late, but he was right on time because he called Lazarus back from the dead and out of the grave. Martha and Mary trusted in God. We should have even more faith than Martha and Mary because we have their experience to draw on.

David and Goliath. Goliath was over 10.5 feet tall and a trained warrior with the most modern weapons. David was a young boy about Simon’s size. The entire army of Israel was cowering like little girls at the presence of Goliath. But this little David was ready, willing and able to fight. Why? He trusted in God. He took God at his word.

1 Samuel 17: 45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.

David had faith in the Lord God beyond all that seems reasonable. He was face to face with a man that was twice his height, a soldier and a warrior. Goliath was armed and armoured from head to toe. David had only a sling with five stones. And when David went to meet him, he did not walk, he did not slink, he ran as fast as he could because he was fully persuaded and trusting in the Lord to perform what he promised in his word.

We need to get persuaded. We need faith. We need experiences with the living God. Look at the promises God has for us in our day. He promised healing. He promised deliverance. He promised salvation. He promised peace. He promised a rapture. The faith that brings healing is the very same faith that brings rapture. How long do we have to wait for God to fulfill his word? That is up to God. Noah waited 120 years. Abraham waited 25 years. The 120 in the upper room waited 10 days. Cornelius waited 3 days. Jarius waited a few moment.

To each a time but that time will be fulfilled. We have to trust in God that what he said will come to pass. And in our day when we have seen promise after promise, prophesy after prophesy fulfilled, how can we help but to believe and trust in God. Are you sick? By his stripes you are healed. Are you possessed, he hath already delivered you, just claim the promise. Are you a sinner, claim his salvation that he accomplished for you at Calvary.

We have a land of milk and honey right here on earth that God has commanded us to go and take possession of. That land is the Kingdom of God, that land is the atonement, that land is the token, the Holy Spirit of promise, that land is our healing, that land is our deliverance, that land is our peace, that land is our sanity, that land is our overcoming power, that land is our salvation, that land is our justification, that land is our sanctification, that land it Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.

He made one atonement for all. The atonement for healing is the same atonement for deliverance and is the same atonement for salvation. We all have needs. We all have fallen short. We all have failed to trust him. Take God at his word. He is obligated to his word. Whatever he said he is obligated to do.

If he said by his stripes you are healed then you are healed. Period. Now let your actions and your words demonstrate that you trust his word. Don’t testify that you are sick, rather testify that you are healed. Testify that you are delivered. Testify that you are saved. Live a life that shows the whole world that you are believing and trusting in Christ Jesus. We are known by our works and by our words. They are our fruits and Jesus said by our fruits we shall be known.

Only trust him

Only trust him

Only trust him now

He will save you

He will save you

He will save you now.

Do you need salvation? Trust him and demonstrate that trust. He said in Acts 2:38 to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Do you trust him? Then act on that trust. If you believe the Word of God and trust in the Lord then you will obey his word. If you do not obey his word, then that is the sign that you really do not believe it. Believe his word and go forth and possess the land. Take God at his word and possess his promises.

Do you need healing? Take him at his word and act according to his word. Do you need deliverance? It is freely given for you today. Trust in the Lord and he will deliver you. There is nothing that will stand before you if you trust in him. Look at the examples we just read. Armies, diseases, forces of nature, even death itself cannot stand before us if we will truly trust in him. Do you trust him this morning?

Cancer? What is cancer before God? AIDS? Heart disease? Just our names for the devil and the devil was defeated at Calvary. Jesus raised the dead. He raised Lazarus who was dead and rotting for 4 days. He raised a baby in our generation that was dead and rotting for 12 hours in the hot Mexican sun. Only trust him.

Trust in the Lord God. Take him at his word.

Saved from Sin

Saved from Sin!

“Whom the world cannot receive”

2 Cor 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven 3 if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked 4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life 5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given us the earnest of the spirit.

May God bless the reading of His Word.

So we are told that God has provided us with a token, an earnest, down-payment receipt for a mansion which is waiting for us in heaven. Our mansion in heaven is a body. A perfect version of ourselves. It already exists waiting for us. No gray hairs, no bald heads, no sore joints, no being tired, to getting sick, no getting old, no more wearing glasses. Perfect versions of ourselves waiting for us to step into. Do we all believe that? We all hear it and know it in our minds but do we believe it in our hearts? There is a perfect, glorified body waiting for each and every child of God.

And it is in our imperfect bodies that our souls are prepared to live in our perfect bodies. It is in an unholy filthy world that we are prepared to live in a holy perfect world. It is through our sickness, our pain and our suffering that God prepares us for a place that has no sickness, no pain and no suffering. Quite the paradox we live in. But it is not for everybody for some are saved and some are lost. But we need to be assured that there is indeed a body waiting for us. We need to know that we are going up in the rapture. We need to be absolutely sure. We need that revelation from God to make it sure in our hearts.

How do we know we are saved? What are we saved from? We are saved from Sin! Have you ever asked yourself what that means, to be saved from sin? We talk about it all the time but do you really understand what it means? Saved from Sin. That is what separates us from the world. We are saved from sin. We were dead IN our sin but now we dead TO our sin.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things become new.

When we are dead to our sins all things become new. New desires. New tastes. New likes. New dislikes. We become a new creature IN Christ. How? By getting a new spirit. It is the spirit that drives the man and gives him life. Why did Joshua and Caleb have a completely different outlook than the rest of Israel? A different spirit was found in them.

We used to all be of the world yet even though we were in the world we did not belong there. That is why we came out of the world. There was something inside of us calling us to something better. The deep was calling to the deep. We were not satisfied with what we had in the world and were longing for something better. And something deep inside us told us that there was something better. We didn’t know what it was. We didn’t deserve it. We still don’t. But we know it is there and we want it, we desire it, we need it, we hunger and thirst for it, and we are not going to let anything stop us from getting it.

   56-1208 – Abraham – William Branham
15 Now, you can be a mentally worked up or emotionally worked up and just imagine your faith, but when your spirit bears record with His Spirit, and your life compares with God’s Bible, you’ve got a pretty good conception it’s all as at peace. That’s right, but if it don’t compare with that, then you better come back again. See? If you don’t love Him with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, if sin doesn’t just make you tremble at the thoughts of it, you’d better come back (see?) and be sure. No matter… You might’ve danced in the Spirit. You might’ve spoke with tongues. You might’ve put your name on every church book in this city. You might’ve been baptized three times forward, backward, sprinkled. That won’t have one thing to do with it, not one thing. You’ve got to be borned again (See?), something that takes place, a regeneration, and you become a new creation. Old things is passed away, and all things become new. You’re a new look on everything. The birds sing different. Your enemies that you once couldn’t stand, you love them. See? You really love them, and everything’s changed. Then you know you’ve passed from death unto Life.

Col 1: 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

We were alienated from God. We were enemies of God. It was the wicked works of unbelief in our minds that separated us from Him. And He reconciled us to Him through His own blood. That holy perfect God left His throne in glory to take upon a body of flesh, suffer and bleed and die in your place. In my place. It should have been us on that cross. We deserve what He suffered. He even went to hell for us to conquer that for us. Jesus Christ conquered death, hell and the grave. And He did it for you!

How could anyone turn down such a great and marvelous gift? The gift is too great for us even to properly imagine. The Bible says that eye hath not seen and ear hath not heard neither entered into the heart of any man the things which God had prepared for those who love Him. What a gift. What a sacrifice, the just for the unjust, the holy for the unholy, God for sinner. What could you say of someone who would turn down such a gift. How blind and heartless would we have to be to trod that holy blood under foot and count it an unholy thing? To reject Him is to say that His suffering and death was worthless. And He is His word. To reject the word of God is to reject Jesus Christ. So how could anyone reject Him? How could anyone reject His message? Why don’t people get it? More importantly, why do we get it?

Ephesians 1: 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

So the token is an earnest of our inheritance. We have an inheritance. It is an incorruptible inheritance in heaven. And we have been given that inheritance solely by the “council of his own will”. It is not something we did. It is not because we are any better than anyone else. We are not smarter. We are not holier. We are not more righteous. He chose us out of the world to show His mercy to because from the beginning of the world He knew we would accept and believe and obey.

Romans 8: 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

He predestinated us. Before the very foundation of the World. Before He spoke the first speck of dust into existence He had you in His mind. You are the expressed thoughts of God. He knew who you would be, where you would be born, how long you would live, when you would receive Him, every mistake you would make along the way, and what your thoughts would be this morning. He already knows what mistakes you will make tomorrow. Do you believe that? He knows them and He died for them and has already made a way for you by His own blood.

But we must remember we are at war. There are two seeds on this earth. One is called and predestinated, the other is also called and predestinated, but not for eternal life. Even pharaoh was not wild on the loose but fulfilling the plan of God as God had predestinated for him to do. God raised up Pharaoh, the Bible says so. God knew what he would do. God knew which man to put into that place. He knew what kind of a fellow pharaoh was, that is why He picked that particular man to be in that place. That is why He gave him power. That is why He gave Egypt great power and wealth. It was all in His plan. He told Abraham of it centuries before. Israel was not in Egypt for 400 years by mistake and it was no coincidence that Moses was born when he was born. Moses was predestinated for a special role in fulfilling the plan of God and he had to be born in a specific time, and in a specific place, and to specific parents in order to do it. Even Moses’ speech impediment was part of God’s plan. It allowed for a position for Aaron and the ushering in of the Priesthood and set a type for the ministries of the two prophets to come to the remnant of Israel. Moses was never a speaker and Elijah was always a speaker. As Aaron did the speaking for Moses in the first ministry so will Elijah do the speaking in the one to come. We won’t be here to see it but it will be that way, because God does not change his ways.

We are at war! We are soldiers of the cross. And there is an enemy. Jesus said that He did not come to bring peace but war. There is a battle going on and you have to pick a side. God knows which side you will pick. But it is entirely up to you to pick it. That is why He sent this message, to give you a choice, and to arm you in the fight.

If we are not soldiers of the cross, then we are fighting for the devil.

Every man hears the same words but not all understand them. It is only to the elect that He gives revelation. Did you know that? Every man can receive and intellectual comprehension but only the elect get a spiritual revelation.

Luke 8: 10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables: that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

We all have the same Bible. Yet why is it that we have so many different ideas on what it says? NO REVELATION! Paul and Peter had the same scriptures and learned of them, and wrote of them, and preached of them, completely separated from each other for twelve years, yet when they finally met they had the exact same doctrine line upon line, word upon word and precept upon precept. They had the same doctrine because it was Revealed unto them by the same spirit! Two men miles apart, with totally different upbringings, with totally different educations, with totally different sub-cultures, from totally different occupations, and yet 12 years later they had the exact same doctrines. We can’t hardly even get two people in the same family to agree today.

This battle is a battle of brothers. It started that way in Eden. Every thought and idea that you find in the Bible you can trace all the way back to Genesis to find its origin and all the way forward to Revelation to find its consummation. That is why the devil hates those two books more than any other, they are the seed and the harvest chapters, and they show his origins and his ending. He has fought against those two books more than all the other books combined. And as such they are the two most misunderstood books in the Bible. If the devil can blind our eyes to those books he can keep us away from all of it. If you can’t tie and idea down on both ends then it floats away on you. You got to find the start and the finish of it.

So this war of brother started in Eden and ends in Revelation. Twins. A carnal church and a spiritual church. And the carnal church has always persecuted the spiritual. Cain and Abel, Ishmael and Isaac, Esau and Jacob, Judas and Jesus.

65-1031M – Power Of TransformationWilliam Branham
135 There is always twins. And that’s the reason…Don’t forget this, little flock. The church in the last days is going to be twins, “so close that it’ll deceive the Elected…” Matthew 24:24, see. The church is going to…It’s a Pentecostal move. It’s so much like the real thing, till it would “deceive the very Elected if it was possible.” And a little later on, if I get the chance, I want to explain what, how that election comes. See, it’s going to deceive them because it’s almost like the same thing. See, just two fathers, that’s all; same mother, same church, same movement, same thing. The bedding ground is the same, where the Word falls; but one of them, like here, is perverted. You understand? Say “amen” if you do. [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] See, one of them is a perversion, because it’s the wrong father. Which, I will prove someday, if God will let me, that denomination is the mark of the beast. See, it’s the wrong father, he is stirring people to an organization instead of to the Word. See, it’s the wrong father. It’s a Cain move.

St. John 17: 14 I have given them thy word and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

The world didn’t hate you because of who you are, it will only hate you when you bring this blessed revealed word of the hour to them. They don’t mind denominational creeds. They don’t mind traditions. They don’t mind dogmas. But they hate the WORD.

And it is not the secular world that are the biggest enemy of Christ, they will just think you are a nut, but as long as you are not a hypocrite, they will respect you for it. It is the religious world that will hate you. It was not the people of Israel that shouted for the death of Jesus, it was the religious leaders. The denominations of the day, the World Council of Churches of the day, cried and begged for the murder of Christ. So it is today.

Two seeds on earth today. To seeds in the church today. And they will be together till the harvest. There will be serpent’s seed in the midst of the church until the very end. They will be the ones who betray the foolish virgins to the beast. Did you realize that? The make believers are the Judas type and just as Judas sold out Jesus so will these sell out the church. They are reprobate from the beginning seeking to make merchandise of the flock. And they will smile and shake your hand and call you brother and stab you in the back for a dime. The make believers hate the believers. We just read that. They hate you! They will murder your soul in every way they can. They will tell you lies, tempt you away, tell you that you are fine when you are not fine, tell you that if you believe the message then you are bride. The church believes the message too! So does the devil himself; he believes and trembles.

That is why the foolish virgins have no oil, the make believers conned them out of it. It is the make believers attempt to kill them.

1 John 3:12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works wee evil and his brother’s righteous. 13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

Marvel not if the world hate you. If the religious world is on your side then that is a sign you need to repent. Which of the prophets were accepted by the world? The world hates the children of God because the spirit in them hates the spirit in you. The world hates the children of God because the spirit in you condemns the spirit in them. Can we take it a little stronger? Can we take a little spiritual meat?

The religious world hates the children of God because the devil that dwells in and possesses them hates Jesus Christ who dwells in and possesses you. I’ll just wait a second for everyone to swallow.

1 John 4: 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby  know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

This message, this revealed word of God is not for them. It will never be revealed to them in this age of grace. It is only for the Elect. And it is the revelation of God through the Holy Spirit that gives us victory over the devil. Without the Holy Spirit there is no victory. Who is in you? Somebody is. Is it the spirit of God? If not then there is still time today to get oil in your lamps. What stops us from getting the Holy Spirit? What prevents the filling? Why are the foolish virgins without oil? Something must be preventing it.

St. John 14: 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you.

Whom the world cannot receive. There it is. Are you holding onto something worldly? Is there some Babylonian garment in your house? Search it out! Examine yourselves!

If there is anything of the world in us then we cannot receive the Holy Spirit.

Let me say that again, don’t miss this.

If there is anything of the world in us then we cannot receive the Holy Spirit.

The Bible calls for a total separation from worldliness. Abraham was told to separate himself. And God never spoke to him again until he had done it. He took his father along and he took Lot along. Eventually God saw it was time to deal with Abraham so He allowed a little trouble. He allowed a little trouble to enter Abraham’s camp. Why? Not to punish Abraham but to chastise him, to give him a little spanking so he would wake up and obey the voice of God. God said separate and he had not done it, so God allowed fighting between his men and lots men and then Abraham smartened up and separated himself from worldliness. Then God spoke to him.

62-0506 – Possessing All Things – William Branham

45 Now, one day Abraham had it kind of rough, and Lot having it easy, wading in sin. How easy it is and how pleasing sin looks to be, and how innocent it looks to be. Now, if Lot says this, “As long as I believe! I believe in God, so why can’t I go down here in Sodom, and—and it’ll be all right. I’m a believer.” But it wasn’t all right. 46 See, God, when He called Abraham, He called him to separate himself from everything. And that’s what we have to do. God calls us to a total separation from sin, “Come out from among it, be not partakers of it!” Shun it, the very appearance of evil. Separation, completely annihilated from it! Stay your distance away from it. Don’t tread upon its grounds, no matter how—how it…nice it looks.

Do you have a little trouble? That is God dealing with you. Wake up! Abraham woke up and separated himself from Lot. Then God came to him. Do you want the Holy Spirit? Do you want God to come to you? Separate yourself. Search your camp. Find that Babylonian garment and cast it out! Get rid of it! Get rid of all of it!

James 4: 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Adultery? Friendship of the world is adultery. The Bible says so. Spiritual adultery. We are espoused to Christ. We are His bride. But we go out after the ideas and theologies and dogmas of the religious world. We go for the fashions and ideas of the world. We adulterate this blessed holy gospel! A little leaven will leaven the whole lump! You cannot mix anything with this message! The carnal church will always add or take away because they have no revelation. They will use their own understanding, inject their own ideas and reject the revelation. And they are absolutely sure that they are right and will persecute the true spiritual church in the process. They are smart. Don’t try to argue with them they will eat you alive. But you stay with this word and this word alone and they will be dumbfounded. The Bible says so. Two seeds. One called and predestinated for eternal life and the other predestinated for judgment. Look at what Jesus said of it.

St. John 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

“I pray not for the world”. What a word. Not for the world but only for the elect. He came to redeem Adam’s race, not the serpent’s seed, they are un-redeemable. The serpent’s seed was never even supposed to exist. It is hybrid. The Bible forbids hybrids. It calls them an abomination. Think about that. The serpent’s seed are an abomination to God. Their very existence on earth is an abomination to God. Yet even though they are an abomination He still offers them mercy. And they spit in His face and laugh. Darkness cannot comprehend light.

Video Sermon – And the Darkness Comprehended it Not

St. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Jesus is the light of the world. So without Jesus, the Holy Spirit we have no light at all. We will have an intellectual understanding, a carnal education and be completely spiritually blind and not know it. We can memorize the Bible and learn every quote by heart but without revelation we are in complete darkness. This is Laodicea. The church is wretched, blind, miserable, naked and doesn’t even know it. She thinks she has it all. She thinks she has the message. (Just as the denominations think they have the word, when all they have is the letter.) She thinks she is walking in the glorious light of Jesus Christ and is completely in darkness.

The Message without Revelation is a Dead Letter.

The letter kills but the Spirit brings life. They will quote line after line of the message and miss it in the Word and Spirit of Revelation. They will quote the letter of the Bible and refuse the revelation of the message on it. Do you know that in order to defend any doctrine that is contrary to the Message of the Hour that the Lord God sent through his vindicated Prophet and Messenger, William Branham, you will first have to explain away the Scripture? The Message is the Revelation of the Scripture, so every word of the Message is from the Word of God. Watch for it! For a dogma to be contrary to the Message it ABSOLUTELY MUST be contrary to the Bible and thus they will have to explain away Bible scripture in order to defend the dogma.

St. John 14: 26 But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy Spirit. The Word of God. The message points us to the Word. When we hear the message we have to go back to the Word to see where God said it. It is the same for every preacher. When you hear a sermon you have to go back to the Word and get your own revelation of it. If you just take my word for what I am saying here then all you have is the intellectual understanding of what a man said and tomorrow someone smarter will come along and convince you right out of it. You can quote me till you are blue in the face and the devil will just laugh at you. But go to that original Word Seed and get the revelation on it from the Holy Spirit that was sent to us through the Message, and the devil will tremble just to look at you. Quote the Prophet and the devil will laugh at you, find where the Prophet found it in the scripture and get the same revelation on it that he did and it will be a completely different story. Victory! Power!

Matthew 16: 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Peter did not take another man’s opinion on it. He didn’t quote what some other fellow or one of the other apostles said. He got the revelation from God. He had “thus saith the Lord”. And all the devils out of hell cannot stand against it. Everyone else had some wishy-washy interpretation. Some said he was Elias. Some said one of the prophets, but Peter had the Supernatural Holy Ghost Revelation. He had the goods. He was solid as a rock on who Jesus was because he had the Rock of Revelation. Who do we say that Jesus is?

Mark 16: 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these sighs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Preach the gospel. Not the gospel and. Not the gospel except. The gospel, the whole gospel and nothing but the gospel and God will vindicate that gospel, and your faith in that gospel, with signs, wonders and miracles. That is why Paul said I come in fear and trembling determined to know nothing save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. That is the word of God. Get that revelation. Get separated from the world, from the dogmas, from the ideas, from the fashion of this world, and get into Christ. The Message of the Hour is the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

St. John 7: 38 He that believeth on me, as the scriptures hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water, 39(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Rivers of living water shall flow. Get that revelation and you will spew out rivers of living water. Once the Word is revealed to you it will give you life and give you life to give to others. Not just a drop or two but rivers of living water. And no man will stop it. As Christ was that rock in the desert that Israel drank from so are we to this gentile generation. We are the only Bible most people will read. The rock in the desert watered two million people plus all of their animals. We are to water over Seven Billion people today!

The only presence of God in the earth today is in His Bride.

Let that sink in real deep. The only presence of God in the earth today is in His Bride. He is not in the church today. The Bible says that He is on the outside of the church in this age. He is not in the world and never has been, He is not in the church, not in the world, not in the denominations, and not even in Israel for he will not turn to them until after he is done with us(Romans 11). So He is in the Bride and in her alone. That’s another tough piece of meat that we’ll expand on in a minute.

2 Thesalonians 2: 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 and then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie; 12 that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Already in Paul’s time it was working. Already in the first church age God saw fault. Already in the beginning when everything was fresh and new the devil was sneaking in. What about today. The Bride, filled with the Holy Spirit, is the only presence of God on earth and when she is gone there will be no God in the gentile world. The light will go out completely at the Rapture.

When the Bride leaves the whole world will be in complete spiritual darkness!

Daniel 12: 9 And he said go thy way Daniel: for the words are closed up an sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Do you think the world is crazy now? Do you think the world is evil now? Just wait until God is completely removed from it. The verse we just read says that the presence of the Holy Spirit in the Bride is the only sanity and control and when she is gone the Wicked on will have full reign.

Just as in Moses’ day Israel was in light and all of Egypt was in utter darkness. It was so dark they gnawed their tongues for pain and they didn’t dare move a muscle. When the bride leaves there will be zero revelation, zero understanding of the Word of God. When the Bride leaves there will be ZERO love, ZERO compassion, ZERO mercy on earth. If you think the world is cruel now, wait for it. They will still preach it, they will still point to the rapture, but in complete darkness with no understanding. They, for the most part, are already in that condition. Hundreds of millions have already received the Mark of the Beast and don’t know it. And the persecution of the foolish virgins will be an evil never before imagined.

They have not received the love of the truth so they are sent a strong delusion that they would believe a lie. We all have our own Kadesh Barnea. We will all be brought to a place where we have to make a final choice between the Word and the world. And if we choose the world then our eyes are blinded forever to the truth.

2 Corinthians 4: 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Their minds are blind. Forever! The light is still shining yet they cannot see it. The god of this world, Satan, has blinded their minds to the truth. They have sinned away their day of grace. The time has come when they cannot endure sound doctrine but heap to themselves preachers having itching ears. The church is full of back patters. Telling you what your flesh wants to hear. Telling you that if you believe the Message you are Bride. That is not true.

If you LIVE the Message you are Bride.

Oh and the doctrine of Balaam is binding up the tares to be burned. The pope is meeting with the Muslims. The WCC is meeting with the Muslims. The WCC is meeting with the G8 and the IMF and the WTO and the World Bank is brokering the deal for the pope. They are preaching that we all worship the same God but in different ways. Balaam! And that Wicked one will sweep them into his fold and they will all be bound up for the fire. The International Atomic Energy Association put out a report last week that says that on top of the nine countries that already have nuclear weapons they expect another 30 countries to have nukes in the next couple of years. The tares are bound and the match is lit. Get into Christ today! Get your lamps filled today!

1 Thes 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

We are at the end. It has been said for a long time. The difference is now we have run out of prophecy to fulfill. Did you realize that? In the past we would say oh there are a few things left but that could all happen in a couple of days at today’s rate. There is nothing left. We are done. We have arrived. They are getting ready to say peace and safety. Russia is running out of oil. They are finding oil is Israel now. We are at the very end. Do you see this Message? Are you receiving revelation or are you depending on what your church believes or what your pastor says? Have you met HIM? He is here right now. He is the same yesterday today and forever. It is only for the Bride. And every member of the church is Bride material. It is just up to us to get filled.

Do you have revelation or just an intellectual understanding? Do you have the earnest? Does the spirit of God dwell in your heart? Are you filled? Get a refilling! Are you empty? Get a filling! Does someone else live in there? Get delivered and then filled! The fountain is open this morning. It only takes the twinkling of an eye.

Jesus Christ is sitting on the mercy seat as the high priest of our confession. What is your need this morning? Confess it! Speak it out! If you stay silent He will never hear you. He is not the high priest of our beliefs, he is not the high priest of our thoughts or ideas, He is the high priest of our confession. Lift up holy hands unto the Lord. Confess it! Speak it out! Lift up your voice to God!

You are here this morning because God called you and predestinated you to be here reading this post. God saw you here before the foundation of the world. You are here in this evil, sinful, adulteress world to get prepared for a perfect, holy world to come. Get prepared! Cry out to Him!  All those who call on the name of Jesus shall be saved. Receive him now. He is here, nearer to you than your own breath. Cast of all fear, all doubts and cry out to Him.

Reject the world and receive Jesus Christ today.

Get SAVED from SIN!
