It happened a few years ago. We were living in Penticton, British Columbia, an area famous for nasty spiders. Both the brown recluse and the black widow are quite common there. We do not know what spider bit her. My daughter Sophia, who was 4 years old at the time, was bitten on the leg by a spider. I found out the next day.
I measured the bite marks. The bite had a large red swollen area about 3 inches in diameter. There was a white center about one inch in diameter. And in the middle were two bright red, diamond shaped, fang marks about a quarter inch apart. That is one HUGE spider. At her age it took up the width of her leg. It was a very ugly and scary picture to see such a wound on a small child, especially when you know the damage is caused by a venom.
Following the directions in James chapter 5 in the Bible, we prayed for her in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ as I anointed her with oil. Twenty minutes later there was no sign of the bite; it was completely gone.
Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory, is the same yesterday today and forever. He does not change. He is not a respecter of persons. As such, if you come to him according to his word as we did, then by his grace he will vindicate that word to you. Only believe, all things are possible, only believe.
