The Mystery of God

The Calling

John 17: I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine

sunraysHere the Lord Jesus is facing imminent crucifixion. He has gathered his disciples and is praying to the Father. His words here are interesting, and very different than what we hear in churches today. Jesus refused to pray for the world. Go into any denomination today and they are continually praying for the world. But not Jesus, he flatly refused and spoke it publicly. Jesus told us that he will only pray for those given to him out of the world. Why? Because only those given to him out of the world belong to God. And he goes on to say:

John 17: 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

All whosoever come to Jesus he will keep and NONE will be lost. Jesus only prays for his own and all of his own will be saved.

John 6: 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

This is why Jesus said that we are given to him out of the world. We indeed were in the world, but we do not belong to the world, we are not of the world. The only way to come to Jesus is if the Lord God before the foundation of the world, through his foreknowledge, wrote your name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Those whose names are in that book will come to Jesus, he will accept them, he will save them, and none will be lost. Nobody else will come. If you have come to Jesus, it is because the Lord God predestinated you to it before the first subatomic particle was created.

Ephesians 1: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Our salvation was planned, along with the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ, in the very beginning of time. The plan of salvation is not an accident, is not a mistake, it is a carefully devised plan with every detail accounted for in advance.

Luke 8: 10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

puzzleThe Bible was intentionally written as a puzzle. Without revelation it is completely impossible to understand it and parse it together. Much of it is historically chronological but certainly not all. The key, as the Scriptures tell us is “line upon line, precept upon precept, word upon word”. But without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we simply cannot get it right.

We have over 1,100 “christian” denominations on earth, all preaching out of the exact same book, all preaching radically different from each other. Not only do they disagree with the Message of the Hour, they don’t even agree with each other. How could master theologians, with numerous advanced degrees and expert knowledge of Greek and Hebrew, with the original texts, all come to completely different ideas based on very simple writings? We just read it.

It is not given to them

They don’t have revelation. Sad but true. The Scriptures we just read establish that. And based on that fact we have to ask if they are even called for eternal life because Jesus said nobody can come except God call them to it. Now that does not mean the people in the denominations are all lost. We are all at different places in our walk. But, Jesus will only save those that are given to him by the Father and none of that group shall be lost. The Bible says that there is literally nothing that can pluck us out of his hand. God does not give revelation to those that are not called; to them, unfortunately, it remains a parable, a riddle. Seeing it they will not see. Hearing it they will not understand. Even the simplest Scriptures like the proper Christian baptism will be a complete mystery. Verily they will not understand my simple words here today either. They will insult and attack it and say all manner of evil against it for the Lord God will not give them revelation. Hence the Bible says:

1 Corinthians 2: 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The things of God, all the things of God, the entire Word of God, The Bible from cover to cover, is spiritually discerned. The natural man, the carnal mind, the intellectual giant, cannot and will not ever understand it. We cannot study our way into heaven. Saul of Tarsus was the most educated, smartest theologian in Israel knowing the scriptures forward and backward, and he was persecuting the Church with it. It was not until he met Jesus and on the road to Damascus received the revelation of the Mystery of the Godhead, that he started serving the Lord. At that point he said he counted all his learning as dung. As Jesus said to Peter, “flesh and blood had not revealed it unto you, but my Father in heaven hath revealed it”. That is the Rock of Salvation. Not Peter, REVELATION!

So there are mysteries. We just read that. There are many, many mysteries that can only be fully understood through revelation. So which mysteries count? Which ones do we have to know? Do we need to understand all of them? NO. Because that would make salvation an intellectual act. Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:2 says that you could understand them all and still be lost for it is not the knowledge of doctrines that saves us. But is there a particular mystery, one thing hidden to the world, that ties it all together?

Revelation 10: But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Notice in the other scriptures the Bible talks of “mysteries”, plural, but here we see the word “mystery”, singular. So there is a singular mystery, that has been handed down to us throughout the entire Bible by the prophets, that is hidden from the world, and is finished, revealed, in the very last day by the very last Church Age Messenger, brother William Branham. There is a secret, that the Lord God Jehovah has saved for the Laodicean Church Age. There is a particular mystery that Jehovah told us of, yet did not fully reveal until the very end. This one secret is the key that ties all other mysteries together. It is so essential the he reserved the Elijah ministry of Malachi 4:5-6 to reveal it.

The Mystery of God

1 Timothy 3: 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

The Mystery of God, the revelation of the Godhead, is the one key mystery. Without it we do not even know who or what God is. Without that one revelation all the others are powerless because we will not be able to apply them to our lives.

How can we say we worship God when we do not have clue who he is? How can we enter into the Blood Covenant of Jesus Christ if we cannot even understand who and what The Lord Jesus Christ is? We will be heathens, fooling ourselves. We will be religious, yet walking in complete darkness. That is why Jesus admonished us:

Luke 13: 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

These people thought they were Christians. They knew the name of Jesus Christ, but they did not know him. They did not have the revelation of the mystery of God. They thought they were serving and worshiping God, yet they had no clue who Jesus Christ is. And for all their good works, for all their charity, for all their helps, singing in the choir, preaching from the pulpits, building schools and  hospitals, missionaries to the the far corners of the glove, feed the hungry, clothing the poor, and yet completely and utterly lost, without God in the world. The world is a darkness and the people a gross darkness saith the Lord.

This one revelation is the key that has been reserved for the Bride of Christ. It is unto his Bride that the Groom unveils himself, and to no other. Only the called, the “very elect”, the ones given to Jesus by God the Father will receive the revelation that Jehovah of the Old Testament is Jesus of the new. They, and they alone will see God above us, God with us and God in us as three manifestations of the self same person of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is in the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, but without the Holy Spirit opening our eyes, we will miss it completely. It is clear in Isaiah 9:6 yet without revelation, we won’t see it, ever.

If you have received the revelation of the mystery of the Godhead, if it dwells not just in your mind as a doctrine, but in your heart, then you are called of God, chosen and elect, a member of the Bride of Christ. If you possess the revelation of the Mystery of God, then know most assuredly you did not figure it out, it was not taught to you by your pastor, it was not given you by the Prophet, it was given to you before the foundation of the World when the Lord God wrote you name in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

If you don’t have that revelation then I beg you, I urge you, fast and pray until the Lord unveils this truth to you. Wait upon him. Cry out to the Lord for the revelation. Cry out to meet him. Cry out for the pillar of fire to come to you and reveal the hidden mystery and introduce himself to you. If you have  desire to know it, then that desire was put in your heart by the Lord. You cannot come to him unless he first draw you.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven. When the Lord comes, he will grant for you to sit with him in his throne as he is sit down in his father’s throne.

The god of this world

World and The god thereof

We often talk about “God”. But what is God? The Word god means and object of worship, and as such there are many, many gods. For some people their car is a god, their wife is a god, the president of the United States is a god. Who is our god? Who, or what, is your god?

The Bible talks of the Lord God Jehovah. It talks of the great creator, the life giver, the healer, the redeemer the one true God and eternal life. It also speaks of another god. It speaks of another object of worship. This god, however, is a deceitful, horrible, lying, murdering, evil god. It is the god of this world and his name is Lucifer. The devil is the god of this world? He absolutely is for a god is an object of worship and the devil is worshipped by the entire world. Many will be very angry at me at this point, but if you sit back and search the scriptures with me I believe I can show you that what I say is true.

2 Corinthians 4: 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

May the Lord God add his blessing to the reading of the Word.

As a note here, the word “world” in Scriptures is translated from the Greek word “cosmos” which means society, culture, mores and norms. It does not mean earth.

The Bible is written in incredible simplicity. It is written to be understood by all. God does not require an education, or great intellect to understand his word. He requires only that you desire to know, believe and follow the truth. But at the same time, the Bible is a great mystery that cannot be figured out by the smartest of men. The greatest scholars can look into the original transcripts, with tremendous knowledge of Greek, and Latin and Hebrew, and search the scriptures day and night, and take notes and confer with others and in the end know nothing. The most learned and trained theologians of today all disagree with each other and yet claim to be highly educated and experienced experts with decades of study.

Paul was the most educated man in Israel in his day. He was known as Saul of Tarsus. He was schooled by the greatest Bible teacher in Israel. He knew the law and the prophets by heart. He knew every prophecy of the Messiah and yet he did not recognize him when he came. He knew exactly what the scriptures said about the Messiah, and he knew all the prophecies concerning the Church and yet when he saw the Church in action living out those prophesies he condemned them to die as ungodly heretics.

The holy Apostles, called before the foundation of the world to be the first messengers of the gospel, sat under the teaching of John the Baptist and missed that he was Elijah for their day as prophesied by Malachi chapter 3. These were not just the average guys on the street, they were the twelve Holy Apostles. They had knowledge of the Word. They witnessed John’s ministry. They witnessed Jesus ministry even seeing John baptize Jesus. They heard John say “I am the voice of one calling out in the wilderness”. They heard John say “behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world”. They came to Jesus with the word, confused. Let us take the scripture on it:

Matthew 17: 10 And his disciples asked him, saying, why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? 11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12 But I say unto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. 13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

John preached to them as the messenger sent before the Lord to show his coming, and they knew him not. Jesus said that John was more than a prophet and they could not even recognize that he was a prophet. The scribes, the theologians of the day, knowing full well the scriptures and quoting it to the people, pointed to the coming of Elijah and totally missed his appearance. They met him. They spoke to him. He quoted to them the scripture that vindicated his ministry. They were completely blind and oblivious to it. Just think about that and what it means for us.

Does it sound crazy? Not only did they miss the Elijah ministry of their day, but God himself was standing there in front of them in flesh, fulfilling each and every prophecy of the Messiah recorded in the scriptures, fulfilling each and every prophecy that they were pointing to and quoting, and they had no idea who he was. The very God of heaven, Jehovah in flesh, was performing miracle after miracle after miracle right in front of them and they were totally blind to it. Sounds crazy to us doesn’t it? Not only was the world blind to the fact that Jesus was the Messiah, they went so far as to call him the devil and then murder him. The greatest, smartest, most educated theologians and Bible scholars were completely blinded to the vindication of the very scriptures they memorized and quoted daily.

Malachi 4:5-6

Brother William Branham
Brother William Branham

But we also had a prophet in our day who had the manifestation of God in his ministry even to the raising of the dead and speaking into existence. He was a Word Prophet who completely fulfilled the scriptural prophesy of his ministry and the whole world missed it. It wasn’t just the secular world who missed it. The Pentecostal people, those that he was sent to, missed it. Millions of people sat in his ministry all over the planet. The ministries of men like Oral Roberts and Billy Graham came out from this man’s ministry. There are over 1,100 of his sermons on tape and nearly every one has a healing line where signs, wonders and miracles are recorded. Yet they all, all but a select few, missed it completely.

If William Branham was not the Elijah of Malachi 4:5-6, then who was? Answer me that.

The Bible says he must have already come, so if it was not William Marion Branham who fulfilled that prophecy then who was it? The Bible is clear. Malachi 4: 5-6 is clear. Zechariah 14 is clear. Revelation 10:7 is clear. Amos 3:7 that God would do nothing until he reveals it to his servant the prophet is clear. The Bible clearly tells us that we were to be sent a prophet in our age with the same ministry and spirit as Elijah to reveal the hidden mysteries and restore us back to the Word of God. Let’s read it.

Malachi 4: 5 Behold , I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: 6 and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Elijah has to come before the “great and dreadful Day of the Lord”? The day of Jesus on earth was not dreadful. Jesus on earth was mercy. Jesus ministry on earth was salvation, healing and deliverance. It was the atonement, not the judgement. So then what is the “great and dreadful Day of the Lord?”

Zechariah 14: 1 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and they spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the woman ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 and ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. 6 and it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: in it shall come to pas that at evening time it shall be light.

This is the judgment day, the return of Christ “with the saints”. And before that can happen Elijah must come to restore the Bride. Before Israel can be encompassed by all nations, Elijah must have come. Israel is encompassed by all nations today. The whole world is building up against them, blaming them for every evil on the planet. The world is preparing to go to war against God’s people Israel. The Lord is gathering the nations together so that he can judge them at once.

Elijah comes again the fifth time with Moses to Israel right away, and Israel is encompassed about right now, so the fourth manifestation of the ministry of the prophet Elijah must have already come. Somewhere at sometime in our recent past there must have been a man, with a prophetic ministry, with a vindicate message from God. There is no arguing that simple fact. Elijah has come.

The Mystery of God

Revelation 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

The Lord of Glory
The Lord of Glory, Jesus Christ

What is the Mystery of God? There are many mysteries in the Bible. There are many things that God told through his prophets that he kept in symbolic form, but told the prophets it would be sealed up till the end times. For example, there are Daniel’s 70 weeks. There are the Seven Seals. There are the Seven Church Ages. There is the Mark of the Beast, the great whore of Babylon, the identity of the Antichrist etc etc. These are all great Mysteries. God gave us dozens of prophecies that he told his prophets to seal up to the end of the age. They are now all revealed. Every word in this Bible is now revealed for us!

So who was it? Who was Elijah? According to the Bible, and the events happening in the world, Elijah must have already come. Elijah must have fulfilled his ministry here on earth in our midst. Did you miss the Elijah of your day as the holy Apostles did in theirs? Do you know who Elijah was?

The world always misses it. They missed Noah. They missed Moses. They missed Elijah. They missed Jesus. They missed Luther. They missed Wesley, they missed Azuza street. And they are missing Jesus Christ even to this day. They are pointing to Jesus Christ in the scripture, and failing to recognize him fulfilling that same scripture today before them. Man is always pointing to what God did, talking about what God will do, and completely ignoring what God is doing right in front of them. Amen?

When Jesus was on earth in flesh, the religious people kept pointing back to Abraham and Moses. When the very God of Abraham and Moses, the great I AM, the pillar of fire, Elohim, Melchisedec, was standing right before them in the flesh and they could not see who he was. Do you see God this morning? Or do you only see him yesterday? Do you see a current Jesus Christ or a historic one?

The Message of the Hour

If there was a messenger, as the Bible shows us clearly that there was, then that messenger must have had a message. Each messenger throughout time has had a message. And the message that they brought for for their specific hour. Noah’s message of rain and a flood was specifically for the people of his day, and is of no direct use for any other day. Yes we learn from it, but we cannot act directly on it.

When God sends a messenger, he sends them with the Message of the Hour. The Message of the Hour in Noah’s day was rain, flood and judgement. The Message of the Hour in Lot’s day was fire and judgement. The Message of the Hour in John the Baptist’s day was salvation and the coming of the Lord. Martin Luther brought the message of Justification. John Wesley was sent to us with the message of Sanctification.

In each age a messenger is sent. That messenger is sent with the Message of the Hour. All who receive the Message of the Hour are the Bride of Jesus Christ for that day.

We sit back as “message people” in our vanity and think we got it all figured out. We think we got the Message of the Hour, so we think. We believe we had a prophet, and so we did. We look down on the denominations because they miss it. And yet we tend to be just as blind as they are or worse!

Where is God today?

How often do you hear preaching about what God did in the prophet’s ministry as though it were happening today? Yes the lord worked many miracles, signs and wonders through his ministry. There is not denying it. But, that was over 50 years ago! What is God doing today? Yes he raised the dead 50 years ago, yes he healed the sick 50 years ago, but what is God doing today in our lives, in our midst? What did the Lord do in your life today? Are we missing it? Are we pointing back to yesterday and missing today? Is our testimony about the power of God relegated to stories of God’s moving in the prophet’s ministry? Have we any signs wonders and miracles today?

“You cannot warm a man with a picture of a fire”. William Branham told us that. We like to quote him. We even like to quote that quote, then we act totally contrary to it. You got to have the real thing! You cannot save a man with a historical God. If Jesus Christ cannot do the very same signs, wonders and miracles, right here and right now that is written of him in the Bible, then he is useless to us. But he is the same yesterday, today and forever. And every single thing written of him in the Bible is just as true today as the day it was written.

He was the healer then. He is the healer now. He was the saviour then. He is the saviour this morning. He was the truth, the life and the way, the bright morning star, the lily of the valley, the great I AM, the pillar of fire, and he is exactly those things right here, right now. Are we seeing it?

Revelation

I wrote some time ago on “when their eyes were opened”. Our eyes have to be opened to see the truth, else we will miss it.

When Their Eyes Were Opened
When Their Eyes Were Opened

We can only understand the scriptures through revelation of the spirit of God. You will never figure it out. I will never figure it out. We will never study our way into heaven. You will never learn salvation. It comes purely and only by revelation. If we do not seek revelation on the word of God, and we do not wait for that revelation, then we will never understand the word of God. If we do not wait on God for an answer we will never know what the Bible is telling us. It will look like complete contradiction to us.

How can the scripture on one hand tell us that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man, and in another scripture tell us that it is the Holy Spirit that does the mediation? How can Jesus tell us to be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and Peter and Paul tell us to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ? Without revelation you will never understand it. How can the Bible say that God hated Esau before he was even born and still be fair?

You want to know what really happened in Eden? I can tell you but without revelation you will not believe me. You want to know the Mystery of the Godhead? I can explain it to you but God has to reveal it for you to get it. A while ago we looked at the book of Ruth. To the world it is just a story of a woman and her daughter in law going home to Israel and getting their land back. But with the revelation of the Holy Spirit we see that the book of Ruth depicts God’s entire plan, as the Kinsmen Redeemer, of salvation for both Jews and gentiles.

The reason we have so many churches, lodges really, all preaching differently is that there is no revelation among them. They interpret the word by their own understanding and according to the desires and lusts of their flesh. When we decide ahead of time what the Bible says, then we look for scriptures that we can “interpret” to agree with us and deny and explain away the rest of the Bible that doesn’t.

Today we are preaching the Message of the Hour. We are preaching what the prophet preached, the unadulterated, revealed word of God for the hour. But we do not have the moving of God as the prophet did. If we get sick, a little pain here or there, the first thing we do is run to the doctor. Why is it so? Where are we at?

Matthew 23: 2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: 3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that obey and do; but do not ye after their works: for they sway and do not. 4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: them make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, 6 and love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues.

Does this sound familiar to you? Have you seen it in churches around you, possibly ones you attend? So why is that? So why is there no revelation among the so called Christians? Why do we not see the simple truth that we ourselves are preaching? We have become like a sounding brass. We make noise but there is no power behind it. Why does the religious world miss the truth, and so many of those who have the  truth preached to them, or even preach the truth themselves, not live it? Why the gross blindness? Why the hypocrisy?

The Greatest Battle Ever Fought

I am actually writing an entire book on this subject at the moment. There are two forces at work in this world. They are fighting a war that started a very long time ago. One is the creator and the other is the destroyer. One gives life and the other takes it. One is the God of heaven, the other it the god of this world. You were wondering when we would get to this. Sometimes we need a bit of buildup before making a point. We will all serve one or the other. The only way to overcome the devil is through Jesus Christ. A church cannot save you. Good works cannot save you. Only the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which comes through the new birth can overcome the devil.

1 John 4: 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore they speak of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

If we are overcomers then it is only through Jesus Christ living in us that we are. The world does not overcome. The world refuses to hear the gospel. They will gladly hear creeds, dogmas, sociology, psychology and anything else you throw at them, but they will refuse the word of God. Notice there is no third position. We either worship and serve Jesus Christ, or we worship and serve Satan. Period. These are hard words but absolutely true. There are only two controlling spirits, good and bad, dark and light, life and death, there is heaven and hell, but there is no third option. Here is another scripture to show you.

Romans 6: 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

It is unmistakable! Take a deep breath. I don’t mean to hurt you, but I am bound to tell you the truth. Here it goes.

Every person who is not born again of the Holy Spirit is serving the devil.

Oh good, you are still reading. Now let us go deeper. Even those who are born of the Spirit of God used to serve the devil prior to the new birth. It says so clearly in the above scripture. We “were” the servants of sin until we received and obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ. Notice here too that Paul uses the personal pronoun “whom”. It is not what you obey, as an inanimate thing or a lifeless doctrine or creed, but rather “whom” as a person. Every word has a life, a spirit behind it. I spoke of this in Every Seed After His Kind. We either serve and obey Jesus Christ through the faith and obedience to the Word of God, or we serve and worship Satan through disbelief and disobedience to the Word of God.

And that is the test. Do we accept, believe and obey the Word of God exactly as it is written or do we add, subtract and mutilate the written word to try to bend it to fit our own desires? When the Bible says to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, do we immediately seek water and get baptized, or do we say the wording is not important as long as we are baptized? When the Bible says that we must have foot washing with the Lord’s Supper do we wash each other’s feet, or do we say “oh, that was because they wore sandals back then”? Do we accept the Word of God or reject Jesus Christ in favour of our church’s dogmas and creeds? Do we worship and serve Jesus Christ or Satan?

God spent 6 days, or 6 – 1000 year periods building Eden. The devil has spent the last 6000 years building his Eden. We are living today in Satan’s Eden. Let that sink in. He is ready to incarnate himself as the antichrist and dwell amongst his children in his paradise. Before he can do that, the Holy Spirit must vacate the gentile world. The only presence of the Lord God Jehovah in this world is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in his born again children. Period.

The only presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on earth is in the Christians.

While God is still dealing with the gentiles, the devil cannot take his position. Once the last of God’s predestinated sheep is in the fold, and brought to maturity, then God takes his bride home and leaves the world to the devil and his children. Unfortunately the foolish virgins and the Jews will be left as well, and will have to deal with it.

Romans 11: 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of his mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, unto the fullness of the Gentiles come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant to them, when I shall take away their sins. 28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the Father’s sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

During that time of three and a half years, God will only be dealing with the 144,000 predestinated seed in Israel. The plagues will be striking the rest of the earth but the only voice of God anywhere on earth will be in the two prophets preaching to Israel. Without God in this world, the foolish virgins will have no protection and will be mercilessly slaughtered by the world. The religious world will gather and kill the foolish virgins and think that they are doing God a service. They will be serving the god of this world, the devil, and thinking they are serving the Living God. Jesus said it would be so. Get in Christ today!

The god of this world

Satan is the god of this world, and the god of this evil age. Today, what is evil is called good, and what is good is called evil. Speak one word against homosexuality or abortion and see for yourself. Speak in favour of Israel one time and see how they react. Tell them that the Bible forbids women preachers or that Jesus said in Luke that all remarriage outside of widowhood is adultery. Tell a religious person that they need to be rebaptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and watch how they react. Apollos who was originally baptized by John the Baptist, in Acts 19, took his entire congregation and got rebaptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Unto what were ye baptized? Will you go find water and get baptized properly? Every predestinated seed of God will.

The devil appeals to the desires of our flesh and our minds. His doctrines feel good to us and are logical and make sense. The doctrine of the devil will never convict us of sin. The doctrine of the devil will tell us that we are saved when we are not saved. The doctrine of the devil will never correct you, it will never point you back to the word of God but instead will interpret it to you in a way that will make your flesh feel good. You will walk into church a sinner, and leave a sinner, with no change to your life or attitude, yet thinking you are saved, simply because you attended or joined that church. The devil will tell you that God loves you just as you are and you do not need to change.

How evil is the world?

1 John 2: 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 and the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.

The things of the world are not of the Father, they are of the god of this world. Worldliness is of the devil. If we love the world’s fashions then we love Satan’s fashions. If we love worldy music then we love Satan’s music. If we love worldly politics, society, religion, philosophy, ideology etc, then we love the devil’s stuff. If we love the things of the world, then we love the things of the devil, and therefore we actually love the devil! I’ll let that sink in. If we love the things of the world, then we love the devil. Amen? Hold on it gets a little sharper yet. Is all the world ruled by him?

Luke 4: 5 And, the devil taking him up into a high mountain, and showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time; 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7 if thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

Do you still wonder why politics is so corrupt? The devil chooses who is in charge in the world. The Bible says so. That is why you won’t find a Christian in politics. They may try to sway people, but they will never be elected into office. You will find many who call themselves Christians but a real Christian stays away. They won’t want him around. Look to the Bible. Look at Abraham and Lot. Abraham stayed to his own while Lot went down into Sodom and got himself elected into a government position, the mayor of Sodom, for it says he sat at the gates judging the people. Who do you associate yourself with, Abraham the father of faith, or Lot. Are you of the World?

Who is your father? There are two gods, two fathers, two seeds. Are we of God, or of the wicked one? Do we see the gospel or is it hid to us? Are we of God or of the World?

When we cannot see the gospel, when we do not understand the revealed word of God for the hour, it is because the devil is blinding our minds to it. In Luther’s day the devil blinded people’s minds to Luther’s message and they rejected both him and his message. That message came from God so when they rejected Luther, they rejected God. In Noah’s day they rejected Noah’s message because the god of this world blinded their minds to it. And every one of them is dead, eternally separated from God.

And how did the devil blind their minds to Noah’s message? What trick did he use? He used logic, reasoning, science, philosophy and religion. Those are the tricks he has always used and will always use. It did not make sense that it would rain since at that time no rain fell. It did not rain before the flood. Science tells you right now that what I just told you is impossible but if you look into the scripture you will see that the original year had 360 days and today we have 365 ¼ days, and the 23 degree axis tilt did not exist then either. So the whole planet was in a different orbit than it is today. Whatever caused the flood knocked the whole planet out of alignment. The little earthquake that caused the Indonesian tsunami a few years back actually changed the length of the day, as did the big one in Haiti and the monster in Japan.

When Noah, in an age with all the science we have today and maybe a wee bit more, came preaching that God would destroy the earth with a flood caused by rain from the sky, it was easy for the devil to use reasoning, logic and science to blind the minds of the whole world to the truth. It had never rained, thus it could not rain. Simple logic tells you that. But they did not take everything into consideration. God said it would happen and it happened. Today we are told that the earth is reserved unto fire where the very elements will melt with a fervent heat. Do you believe it?

When Jesus came, how did the devil blind the minds of the people to who Jesus really was?

Mark 6: And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. 2 And when the Sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? And what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands 3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judah, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. 4 But Jesus said unto them, a prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, an din his own house. 5 and he could there do no might work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

The devil used reasoning and logic. They knew Jesus as a man and could not see that he was God. Even though he had amazing wisdom and worked signs and wonders, carnal reasoning told them that he was just a carpenter. Why would God choose him when he has a hundreds of priests and rabbis to use? It is the same today.

Why would God use a little corner church when he can use a big organization? A little church on the corner can only reach a handful of people but a big organized church can reach out to hundreds, thousand and even millions. Why would God choose an uneducated hillbilly when he has thousand of educated, theologians with Phd’s to their names and huge organizations backing them? Surely a logical God would use the big church. If a church has lots of members and lots of money, that must mean that they are right in their teaching and God is blessing them, right?

Who did God choose to forerun the first coming of Jesus Christ? He chose a man who was orphaned into the wilderness at the age of 12 and grew up on a diet of locusts and honey. Who crucified Jesus? The big organizations with lots of members and lots of money did it. What denomination was Jesus a member of? The denominations kicked him out and killed him. And yet today if you don’t have a university degree and a letter and membership card from a big organization nobody will hear you. That is the world in a nutshell.

St. John 15: 18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If hey have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep your also. 21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.

The world is of the devil for he is their god. Satan is the god of this world. He rules their politics, he rules their religion, he rules their fashion, he rules their entertainment. Logic, reasoning and blindness are the devil’s handiwork and he always plays to the lust of the flesh and the pride of the eye. The Bible warns that in our age, it would be the darkest, blindest age of all.

Isaiah 60: 2 For behold the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Not just a darkness but a gross darkness on the people. The devil has been more successful at blinding the hearts and minds of people in this age than in any other age before. In this age alone do we have the entire Bible revealed and in this age we have the most darkness as well. So much so that this is the only age in which we are told we are completely blind as a church. This is the age where we are warned that the devil would be so convincing that he would fool the very elect if it were possible.

Revelation 3: 14 And unto the angel of the church of Laodiceans write; These things sith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thour art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

This is Jesus talking here. He is not addressing the world, he is addressing the church. This letter is directed at the Bride of Christ. This is the condition of the spirit filled church today. This is the condition of the “message people”. The world is in far worse condition. The church today is blind! The church today is naked. We think we got it all and we got nothing. He is counseling us. Get treasures in heaven. Get white raiment. Get eyesalve.

The church today is blind and the god of the world has blinded them.

Look at your life. How are you living? Are you living the message or have the things of the world crept in to your life? Are you a walking Bible to every person you meet? Do we really see, understand, believe and obey this message? Are we living this message every day in our lives or is it a story of 50 years ago? Is God in our lives in the same way he was in the book of Acts? Are the signs, wonders and miracles following us? Have we met him personally? Do we have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ?

Or is the gospel hid to us? Is the Bible an open book to us, or is it a book of riddles that must be “interpreted” by our denomination, our theologian, our preacher, our pope etc. There are very many who will never see it no matter how long it is preached. Jesus said that there would only be a few that would see it, the rest would be blinded to it.

But the god of this world is subtle. He does not come with a pitch fork and a horse tail. When he comes to deceive the elect, he comes preaching the message of the hour. I have seen it where a man came and preached perfectly on the word for two straight hours, got the crowd excited, subtly slipped in his own personal heresy, and then went back to preaching perfectly for another hour. And the crowd all said Amen and missed it. They were not paying attention and accepted a false doctrine with no basis in the Word of God.

Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

The word “Christ” means anointed. So a False Christ is a False anointed one. They truly are anointed but are not doing the works of God. Balaam was such a one. He was an anointed prophet. He prophesied with “thus saith the Lord”. When he went to curse Israel, he had to bless them because he was a prophet under an anointing and could only say the words God put in his mouth. But when he was not prophesying he brought in his damnable heresy that almost ended the nation of Israel. The high priest in Jesus day prophesied under an anointing because of his position. Jesus said that the high preist was a child of his father the devil and yet he still prophesied under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

I encourage everyone to listen to Brother Branham’s sermon “False anointed at the endtime”; that is your homework. Give it a good listen, it will help you understand that paradox. Also check out the sermons “Satan’s Eden” and “the God of this Evil Age”.

The false annointed come so close as to deceive the elect. So they must be message preachers! A catholic priest with a turned around collar is never going to deceive you, but someone who can quote the message like a machine gun is another story. And they will use the same doctrine of Balaam to blind the hearts and minds of the people. Look who God likens them to.

Jude 1: 11 Woe unto them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried aobut of winds: trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reseved the blackness of darkness forever. 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

Cain, Balaam, Core; these were all false anointed of their day. These were all claiming to be believers. They were not the heathen. Balaam a prophet, lost because of his greed for money and power and popularity. Cain had the biggest most beautiful church and was murderously jealous of Abel’s little alter because God was with Abel and that condemned Cain. Core, what a scoundrel he was. God opened the very earth to devour him. He was after money and power and blasphemed God’s chosen, anointed prophet and the message of the hour to his day.

They all did the same thing. They all had a big ecclesiastical move to gather people to them, to earn power, and popularity and money. They all pretended to be believers yet did not believe.

Numbers 16:2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown: 3 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the lord?

Core was after power and accused Moses of doing the very thing that he himself was guilty of. He gathered all the popular men of his day together of a big ecclesiastical convention and rose up against the prophet that God sent. Core took 250 souls with him to his death.

Balaam told the Moabites to get their girls to fellowship with the Israelite boys saying that we are all “Christians” as we would say today. That led Israel off into idolatry. That cost Israel 24,000 lives. And it would have been far worse if a man, a boy actually, named Phinehas, had not stepped in. He came from good stock, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron. He stepped in when he saw the evil that was afoot. He could not take it anymore, it vexed his soul and he acted and God was pleased with him.

We need more Phinehases today!

We need someone to step in and act to correct the wrong. We need men with spines to stand upon the Word of God and call black, black and white, white and to condemn sin from pillar to post! We need men who are willing to be cast out from everyone, to live as hermits if necessary, but to stand strong upon the truth and both live and preach the revealed word of God for the hour. We have too many wishy washy pretenders looking for money, power and glory in the pulpits today.

The devil blinded the eyes of the people to the message of their hour and he did it with religion, with popularity, with money, with reason, with logic, with a private interpretation of the word of God that does not line up with the word of God. He came in Moses day with the prophet’s own message to the believers and peeled off 250 preachers with him. They all burned incense. And the numbers were low because God put a quick stop to it. If God would have let Core go he would have drawn half of Israel along to hell with him.

What about today? How many are being drawn off with the doctrine of Balaam? How many blinded by the gainsaying of Core? How many false prophets and false anointed looking to get rich off the people do we have today? How many having itching ears do we have behind the pulpits? Tell the people what they want to hear, please their flesh and they will fill the seats, and empty your wallet.

The Bible says “there must come a falling away first”. They are falling like rain.

Just ask yourself, if there are so few being raptured, then why are there so many in churches? The god of this world has blinded their minds and they can no longer see the truth! They will believe any lie they are fed.

2 Thessalonians 2: 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 and with all deceivable ness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.

If we do not love the truth, we will get to the point where we cannot believe it, or even see it anymore, and we will believe the devil’s lies as gospel. Once the devil has blinded our minds to the truth, we are under a strong delusion and will believe a total fabrication, a total lie. That is why we have over 1,100 “churches” all preaching out of the same book and all preaching different. We have every form of insanity being preached and the people are gobbling it up. There are “churches” preaching that there is no devil, they baptize in titles instead of the name of Jesus Christ, they don’t believe in the rapture, they don’t believe in the gifts, they put up Xmas tress, they have women preachers, they marry homosexuals and divorced people, and the list goes on and on.

The word of God is sure. There is no room for argument. But our flesh does not like it and if we fail to crucify our flesh then we will turn from the Word of God and accept the dogmas and creeds of men and believe the lies to be the truth.

2 Timothy 4: 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Fables instead of the Word of God. The whole protestant world is wrapped up in the World Counsel of Churches, the image of the beast, and has denied the Word of God. They have pushed out Jesus Christ in favour of man made dogma. Twice dead plucked up by the roots. They cannot endure the preaching of the Word of God because it condemns their worldly, ungodly lives. So instead of repenting and accepting the Word of God they reject the Word of God and heap to themselves preachers who will not scold them, preachers who will not correct them, preachers who will not strike against their ungodliness from the pulpit. They will find preachers who will not cry out for the abominations in the city. And by turning away from the word they will receive a strong delusion so that they will believe the lies that come from the liars they put in the pulpits.

The liars will tell them that they are saved when they are hopelessly lost and the people will rejoice to hear it. They will compromise on the Word of God and the people will say amen to it. They will turn the services into Hollywood extravaganzas award winning performances and the song services into rock concerts and the people will clap their hands and rejoice.

And in the message churches we are seeing the same thing happen, but it must happen for the word said it would happen.

2 Thessalonians 2: 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself to be God.

Now that is the antichrist, who we now know is the pope. Through the prophet’s ministry we can now see in the word of God exactly what the Mark of the Beast is. But that is for another sermon. But the scripture says that there must be a falling away first. In order to fall away we have to have something to fall away from. If we are following a lie to begin with then we have nothing to fall away from. So it is not a falling away from religion but a falling away from the vindicated message of the hour. And from the scriptures we can also see that the falling away will be so close as to deceive the elect of God if it were possible.

It is true that some will fall away to denomonationalism and become beast worshippers. That is surely happening. But there is also a falling away to the doctrine of Balaam and the gainsaying of Core while still giving homage to the Revealed Word of God. And that is the most dangerous of all. The god of this world is managing to blind the minds of the foolish virgins just enough to keep them from receiving the Holy Spirit. And he does it through the same means as he has always used. He will us logic, reasoning, religion, popularity, politics, money, power etc. He will use an ecclesiastical move like Core to round up all the believers on his side. He will promote cross fellowship and gather the sheep, or steal sheep, from other churches and play on their lusts to get them away from the word. And they will fleece them for every dime in their pockets while he is at it.

The god of this world has an agenda. He wants you dead, both physically and spiritually. He will tempt you, con you, lie to you, confuse you, torment you, condemn you, praise you, bless you, persecute you and do anything and everything to get you off of the Word of God.

First he will butter you up and tell you how wonderful you are, how holy, how spiritual. He will play straight to your pride. Then he will bring the Word to you and try to interpret it to you. He will make it look so beautiful. He will make it look so glamorous. He will make it look so reasonable and logical. He will appeal to your every carnal sense and to your every fleshly lust. He will bring his lie in such a way that it will sound perfect to your flesh. The devil’s lie will meet every fleshly desire you have. Then he will try to get you to compromise on the Word, to admit there is some merit in what he is saying. Then he will attack you and demoralize you. He is a killer. He is a destroyer. He is a liar and a murderer, and the father of it all.

The only escape is the Word. The Bible promises us that if we resist the devil and he shall flee from us. He is a bluffer. He was defeated at Calvary 2,000 years ago. Jesus Christ defeated him, took his authority away, paid the price for our every sin, cleansed our iniquities and healed all of our diseases.

Satan has no power over you except the that you give him.

Resist him. Reject him. Take God’s Word no matter how hard it is for it will cleanse you and give you eternal life. Don’t look at physical evidence, look at the promised Word of God. Abraham did not look at his old age or his withered wife. He looked at God’s promise and believed and received a son at the age of 100 with his 90 year old wife. Noah did not look at science but trusted God’s promise of rain and spent 120 years building and ark and preaching that it would rain when science told him it could not.

Isaiah told us that we would be in a state of gross darkness, but in the evening there would be light. Walk in that light while it is still shining for one day very soon there will be absolutely no light left for the gentiles. A day is fast approaching when it will simply be too late. Are you in Christ Jesus this morning? Have you been closing your eyes to the truth? Have you been led away with religion, politics, reason, logic, glamour, popularity, money? Are you feeding your flesh or your soul? Are you eating the fresh manna?

The devil is defeated. He is exposed. The light that shines from Jesus Christ casts out all darkness. Don’t let the devil blind your minds any longer. Don’t let the gospel be hid to you. Cry out to God for revelation! God is calling the bride to repentance! Repent and live the message. Do what the word tells you to do. If it says repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, then do it, do it today for tomorrow may be too late. Whatever the word says, do it.

Don’t trust in numbers. Don’t trust in man. Don’t trust in organization. Trust only in Jesus Christ. Do not let the god of this world blind your eyes to the truth. Satan is the god of this world and the whole world worships and adores him and does not even know it; they are blind. The world is blind! The denominations are blind! Satan is the god of this world.

Revelation 13: 8 And ALL that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Please, I beg of you, open your eyes!

Law

LAW, GOD’S LAW

Our Schoolmaster unto Salvation

Law and Grace
Law and Grace Woven in the Scriptures

The Lord God Jehovah gave us a law. We find that law written throughout the pages of the Old Testament. That law condemned us all to die because none of us were able to follow it. And we should also remember that the Bible says in James that if we break one word of the law we are guilty of the whole law. The penalty for breaking the law is death. God, however, did not want us all to die, he wanted us to live. To accomplish his goal, the Lord God came veiled in the flesh in the man of Jesus Christ and fulfilled the entire law and took all of our sins upon himself and gave his life in place of ours.

It was you and I that were condemned to die on that cross, for you and I committed the sins that put Jesus there. But Jesus Christ, the great Kinsmen Redeemer, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the bright morning star, the rose of Sharron, the lily of the valley, the prince of peace, took your sins and my sins and all of our iniquities and bled and died there for you and I so that we might live with him forever.

This is a very well known doctrine to church going folks. If the Lord will, I would like to look a little deeper into it, to see exactly what the law was, why it was given and exactly what the Bible is telling us when it says that Jesus “fulfilled” the law. We also like to say that we are no longer under the law. We will by the grace of God look a little deeper into that statement and root out in the scriptures exactly what this means. Some will be very surprised indeed by what we will find.

Galatians 3: 19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

So the Bible says that the law is there to deal with transgressions, and the law exists because of those transgressions. This is an interesting and important point. Most would naturally think that the transgressions must come as a result of the law, but we find it written here in the opposite order. The law was added because of transgressions. First the transgressions existed, then the law was added because of them. The law is God’s answer to transgressions.

And the Word says that the law will continue UNTIL the seed should come to whom the promise was made. Who was that promised seed of Abraham, the promised seed of the woman back in the Garden of Eden? God said unto the serpent in Genesis chapter three that “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and the woman’s seed, and you shall bruise his heal, but he shall bruise your head”. The seed of the woman, the promised seed, was none other than Jesus Christ.

Now notice that the law actually existed before Moses. Moses did not write the law, he merely penned it as God spoke it to him. And in fact the famous Ten Commandments were even penned by the Lord God himself as he wrote them in stone with his own finger as the prophet Moses stood by and watched. The law actually started way back in Eden. I used to think that it started with Moses myself but the word explicitly says otherwise.

The first law was “eat not of the fruit for the day you eat thereof you will die”. That was the law in Eden. That was the only law they had at that time. Don’t eat and if you eat you die. It was short, it was simple and it was the law.

Notice now the two components of a law. Every law must have these two components or it is not a law. The first essential component is the thing that you are not supposed to do, and the second is the consequences for doing it. “Do not eat”: was the thing you aren’t supposed to do. And, “IF you eat you die”: was the unconditional Consequences. And every law has these two components.

Without both components it is not a law. Without a commandment it has no direction, and every law must be enforceable. Therefore if there is no consequence for breaking the law then the law is no longer enforceable and of no effect. Adam and Eve did not know much of the law back then but what they did know they were more than able to transgress.

The Bible said the Law was “added” because of transgressions. It was “added”, not just given in one shot but added, which in the Greek is prostithemi which is a verb meaning to increase or to proceed further in giving. So the law was given, but not at once, not in one place or at one specific time but rather it was given and increased over the passage of time, and proceeded further in its giving because of transgressions. The law unfolded with time. The law was a progressive revelation.

So is that it, or is there a deeper reason? Nothing happens without reason and there is no coincidence in life. Is there something more here, another layer? Why would God give the law out in a piecemeal fashion, a little here and a little there, and not in one big lump right at the beginning?

What is the underlying purpose of the law? We know it was given because of transgressions, but how was the law supposed to deal with those transgressions? What was the law doing with those transgressions and with the people it was given to? What is the relationship between us, the law, and the transgressions, and God the law giver and judge? The Bible gives us those answers.

Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

The law was our Schoolmaster. It is our teacher. The Bible says that it was brought in and added because of transgressions AND its purpose was to bring us unto Jesus Christ by teaching us as a schoolmaster. Then after the law brings us to Christ we might be justified by faith. That is a mouthful.

It doesn’t say that we can be justified by the law. The law does not and cannot justify anyone for every word of the law that we transgress condemns us to death. Rather, the law brings us to a place where we can be justified. And it brings us there by teaching us something. So if the law brings us to a place where we can be justified by faith through teaching us, then we need to know exactly what the law is supposed to be teaching us?

Romans 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

This ties in nicely with our central theme and opens the door a little more for us. It goes back a couple of scriptures and weaves itself in. So putting it together so far we see that the law was added because of transgressions and without the law there are transgressions, but we do not know of them and are left guiltless of the law. Why is there no guilt of transgressions without the law? The law alone determines what is, and what is not a transgression. So if there is no law, there is no crime. The act still exists, and the act can be against the perfect will of God, but there can be no crime assigned.

Look at the internet today. It is very new so there are almost no laws in place to govern what goes on with it. And when people are using it wrongly or for some evil purpose, nobody can hold them accountable in this world for their actions because there is no law on the books to charge them with. There is no commandment, and there are no consequences. So until someone writes a law, the police and the courts have no justification in arresting the people. They have nothing to charge them with. There might be horrible acts going on but there is no crime.

But once the law is in place you cannot do those same things anymore. You could do them before but the law is written but once the law is written, then the act becomes a crime. This is a very important and interesting point to note. The law is not retroactive. God created time for a purpose and uses time and has given us definite timelines within the plan of salvation.

So if you commit an offense yesterday and they bring in a law against it today you are free. But if you commit that same thing tomorrow, you go to jail, even if you have been doing it for years before without fault.

Here is an earthly example. The road from your house to work is not very busy and the speed limit is 50 mph. You drive it every day at 50 mph for 15 years. Then as the city develops the area and the road gets busier and someone decides that 50 mph is too fast and one Tuesday morning the speed limit is reduced to 30 mph. It does not matter that you have been driving at 50 for all those years. If you drive at 31 mph today you will get a ticket for speeding. You will not be ticketed for driving 50 mph on Monday, but Tuesday driving that very same road, in that very same car, at that very same speed will earn you a fine. On Monday it is an act with impunity, but on Tuesday that very same act becomes a crime with a punishment.

Here is a spiritual example from the scriptures. Abraham married his sister Sarah. She was his half sister and he took her for his wife. God blessed the union such that he gave them a miracle baby and made that baby the promised seed through whom God would bless the entire planet and every living soul on it. Keeping that fact in mind let us look at what the law of Moses clearly says about the act of a man marrying his sister.

Leviticus 18:9 The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of they father OR the daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.

It is needful to note the word “or” in this passage. The word or is in there for a reason. Some will say “but Sarah was his Half sister”. The law doesn’t say the daughter of thy father AND mother, it says the daughter of thy father OR mother. So according to the law of Moses, Abraham committed sin punishable by death. Abraham clearly violated the laws of Moses. How could God bless a union that was in clear violation of his law that he gave us through his prophet?

Abraham married his sister, an act which is condemned by God’s law. That we have established. Did Abraham sin? Absolutely not! Why? The law clearly shows that what Abraham did with Sarah in marrying her was a direct contravention of the law of God as written by his prophet Moses. So if Abraham transgressed the direct commandment of God, then how is there no sin?

The law concerning that transgression had not yet been added. Without law there is no guilt of transgression. And it wasn’t just Abraham that married his sister. Abel. Seth. Enos. The first few men had no choice, they either had to marry a sister or not marry at all for there were no other women on the planet. But it was not sin because there was no law concerning it yet and where there is no law there is no guilt of transgression. But don’t you do it today. If you do it today you will be found guilty and condemned with the world.

Now does that mean that if we don’t know the law we are saved? No don’t go getting that idea. Even in the laws of man, the ignorance of the law is not a valid excuse. The Bible covers that too:

Romans 2: 12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law.

They did not know any better so they are judged outside of the law. They however still do not have Christ because it is the law that is the schoolmaster that leads us to Christ. So without the law they are not judged in the law, yet they still do not, and cannot, have Christ. So since the law leads us to Christ we cannot find salvation outside of the law, and since the law cannot justify us we cannot find salvation IN the law either. The law leads us to Jesus Christ, who is the salvation, the resurrection and the life. Jesus said:

Luke 12: 47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

See, the law teaches us to come to Christ, but if we do not come, the punishment is most severe. Ignorance is no excuse. The one who did not know of the law was still beaten with stripes. But the one who knew it was doubly guilty, first for transgressing the law and then also for disregarding the law which he knew. The Bible goes on to say in Hebrews that if we sin willfully after we come to the knowledge of the truth there is no more sacrifice for sin but a certain fearful looking for judgment.

Matthew 7:21 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Jesus tells us here that we must do the will of the Father if we are to have any hope of entering the kingdom of Heaven. Then in order to be saved we need to know exactly what is the will of the Father? How can we know what the will of the Father is?

We need someone to teach us what the Will of the Father is or we could never know it. Without a teacher we are lost. God provided a teacher and not just any old teacher but a schoolmaster. The law is our schoolmaster. The law tells us what sin is, and what is not sin. It is the law that teaches us what the perfect will of God is. The law was added because of transgressions against God’s perfect will. It was added to teach us what those transgressions are and to show us what our reward is if we do them. Without the law how would we know? How would you know what God required of you unless He told you? You could try guessing. Lots of churches do that and look where it got them. We have over a thousand “Christian” churches today all preaching different, all preaching a different “perfect will of God”. God can only have ONE perfect will.

So the Law is our schoolmaster. Unfortunately that leaves us with a peculiar little paradox. We are told conclusively that we need the law, and that it is the law that teaches us the perfect will of God and leads us to Christ that we might be justified. But the Bible also says:

Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the spirit, ye are not under the law.

How can we resolve this apparent contradiction? Like I said many times in the past, every line has to run true or it isn’t Bible. The Bible is incapable of contradicting itself, so if we find a contradiction then we must be off the scriptures somewhere.

If our doctrine gets stuck somewhere in scripture then that is a sign that our doctrine is wrong and we have to start over. Always remember that. If we have to explain away a single line of scripture, then our Urim Thummim, the Holy Bible, the Word of God, is telling us that we are wrong. Every doctrine of God lines up perfectly with every single word in the Bible. There are no mistakes.

But are we stuck with a contradiction or do we just need a couple of scriptures to bridge the gap in our understanding? There isn’t any gap in the Word, it’s complete and perfect. The gap is in our understanding of the Word, or rather our lack of understanding of the Word of God.

So let’s find the bridge that ties the two thoughts perfectly together.

The law is our schoolmaster, which the Bible says in Galatians, has two purposes. It first brings us to Christ. Second, in bringing us to Christ it brings us to a place where we can be justified by faith.

Lets start with the first thought. The law is our schoolmaster which brings us to Christ. So the law teaches us something, and what we learn from the law somehow brings us to Christ. Is that right? What does the law teach us?

We’ve already seen that it teaches us what is and what is not sin by showing us and defining what transgressions are. It clearly demonstrates to us what the perfect will of God is and thus shows us when we are not in the perfect will of God.

If we know what the crimes are, then we know what God wants us to avoid doing. And if we know what God wants us to NOT do, then by default does it not also tell us what God wants us to do? And if we know what God wants us to do, and we know what God wants us to not do, doesn’t that mean that we know the will of God? It makes sense doesn’t it? This brings us back to what Jesus said about who gets into the kingdom, those who do the will of my Father. And now by the teaching of the schoolmaster, we can know what the will is.

How can you do the will if you don’t know what the will is? We’ve come full circle. So the schoolmaster teaches us the Will of God. Is that all it teaches? Is that all we need, to know what the transgressions are? Will that in and of itself bring us to Christ and to justification by faith? The Bible says no. The Bible says it is not enough to know the law. It is not enough to know the will of the father. Jesus didn’t say those who know the will of the Father get into heaven, but only those who DO the will of the Father. Remember it also says in James chapter two “you believe in one God, you have done well, the devil also believes and trembles”. (Most churches today don’t even believe in one God, they believe in three Gods. They are not even as spiritual as the devil.)

James 1: 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Knowing right from wrong is not enough, we must be doers of the word and not hearers only. And James pointed out that it is the law that teaches us as well.

St. John 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

Jesus said if you didn’t know better then there was no sin, but since you do know better, and you claim to know better, your sin remains. They knew the will of the Father, they had the schoolmaster of the law, but they did not obey and they did not receive its teaching. They had been under its teaching their whole lives. But still it wasn’t enough. Was it just because they did not obey the law?

Lets take an example:

Mark 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him , Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God. 19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross and follow me.

So here we have someone who knows the law, and who keeps the law and has kept it his whole life, yet that wasn’t enough because he could see that he did not possess eternal life. He still was not justified. Knowing and keeping the law did not justify him. The law cannot justify us.

The law is our schoolmaster, and it teaches us what the transgressions are. And in teaching us it is supposed to bring us to Christ but the law itself cannot justify us. We can have the whole law and yet be unjustified as the rich ruler was. He had the law and the Bible says he even kept it from his youth, but he did not have eternal life. He was not justified. He was lost.

But it is not the law that justifies us. It was never intended to justify us but to bring us to the One that would justify us. That man is Jesus Christ. And he justified us through the law by fulfilling the law. Remember earlier we said the law has two components. One told us what not to do. And the other told us of the penalty for transgression. The first part was accomplished to John the Baptist time. That is what Jesus said. The law and the prophets were unto John. So the Old Testament is the schoolmaster that shows us what not to do and what to do. Where does Jesus come in?

Jesus Christ fulfilled the entire law. The law was added until John then Jesus, the great capstone, fulfilled the law. He fulfilled the law first by taking the commandment part of the law and changing it from an external law to an internal law. In the old testament it was a physical do or do not. But Jesus tells us that it is not enough to maintain a physical outer law. We must have the law internally.

Matthew 5: 21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment. BUT I SAY unto you that whosoever is angry with his brother without cause shall be in danger of the judgment.

Just stop there for a moment. If we are angry at a brother without cause we are guilty of murder? Is that what Jesus is saying. He said in old days you had to actually take the life but today it is sufficient to hate without cause. The External law is transformed to an Internal law today. God said in our day he would write his word upon our hearts and minds. So if it is written on our hearts and minds then it can also be also transgressed in our hearts and minds. This is an essential concept. I hope you are catching that.

Matthew 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 BUT I SAY unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Jesus said that the person has “Committed it in his heart”. The law is written on our hearts so it is also transgressed in our hearts. So then what chance do we have? At least at one time it was a matter of subjugating the urges you felt and just not going out and doing them. Now to simply willfully entertain those things in our thoughts makes us guilty of sin. Is there any hope for any of us? Certainly not in the law, it condemns us to death. It condemns us internally.

1 John 3: 20 for if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence towards God. 22 And whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

The law is now an internal law and will condemn us internally if we even desire to commit a transgression of the law.

But Jesus fulfilled the whole law. He fulfilled the first part. He fulfilled the law by completing the second part as well. He took the entire penalty for all transgressions upon himself. He took All the transgressions both external and internal. He paid the price in his flesh for every sin committed, past, present and future.

That is our only hope, our only salvation, our only reason to live, our only way to live. He alone is the truth the life and the way. He is all in all. Oh what miserable creatures we were without him. And when we receive Him we are set free from the law of sin. Here we get to a very crucial point. This is a point that will surprise most who read this. It is perfectly scriptural but little known. It is absolutely the Bible, absolutely the truth but hidden from most. Remember the paradox we just reviewed.

Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the spirit, ye are not under the law.

And also:

Galatians 3: 25 But AFTER that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

So the schoolmaster, the law, teaches us and bring us to Christ and then WHEN we receive Christ in faith, He justifies us through that faith because he fulfilled the law. At THIS POINT we are set free from the law. It is the very moment we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior that we are set free from the law. We were not set free 2000 years ago. He fulfilled his part back then, but we are not personally set free from the Law until the moment we accept Jesus Christ.

We are set free from the Law the moment we receive Christ, not before.

So what of those who have not received Christ? So what of those not led by the spirit? The term If always goes with then. If, then. IF, IF ye are led of the spirit THEN, ye are not under the law. We have to slow down here a little. This is going to be a chunk of meat for some I think.

So then are those who are not led by the spirit, those who refuse the spirit, those who refuse Christ still under the law? Absolutely!

Those who refuse Christ are still under the law!

They will have to stand before the judgment seat of Christ and give an answer for every word in the law. We are either under the law or under grace, there is no third position. We are either in or out. We are either saved or lost. With law comes the judgment and if there were no law then there could not be judgment. And the Bible says he who offends the law in one word is guilty of all. Is that Bible? We mentioned it earlier.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

He is “guilty of all”. If we do not receive Jesus Christ as our saviour, if we are not justified by faith in Him, we will be held accountable for every letter of the law and we will be found Guilty of ALL.

Galatians 3:10 for as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in ALL things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

All the things, not some of them, not most of them, not all but one thing, A-L-L, ALL of them. If we are not in Christ Jesus then we are still under the entire written law. The New Testament is of absolutely none effect to us without the blood of Jesus Christ.

So then what do we do? Receive Christ! Sound good but how? Men and brethren what shall we do?

Acts 2: 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

See, at this point Jesus had already died for our sins some 50 days ago and risen and ascended on high, but those men who witnessed the pouring out of the Holy Spirit were pricked in their hearts. They were internally condemned by the internal law of the Spirit of God. They were guilty of the law and condemned by it and they knew it. They realized they needed to be justified.

Peter said to them to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Do you see it? By receiving Jesus Christ we are set free from the law. Without law is no sin. We still committed the acts, but we are set free from the guilt of it. When we repent and are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, it is at that moment that we are set free from the law. It is at that moment in time that we are justified. Until that very second we were completely under the law and guilty of the whole law and condemned to death and hell.

And we must follow exactly for there is a way that seems right unto man the end thereof is death. The Bible gives us a very detailed description of how to receive Jesus Christ. First we must repent, get the inward law and acknowledge our transgressions and make right those things we had made wrong. Then we must be baptized in full immersion in water in the name of Jesus Christ. No other baptism, no baptism in titles, but specifically in the name of Jesus Christ. Thre is exactly one baptism. That is why in Acts chapter 19 a group of repentant believing Christians needed to be rebaptized in the name of Jesus Christ; their original baptism was in error.

Another place where people get lost here is they forget the repent part. Miss that and you go in a dry sinner and come out a wet one. Repent. Make the wrong into a right. Live according to His commandments. Die unto yourselves. Baptism is a burial. And today I think we bury to many live people.

St. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him. If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

What does it mean to “keep” his words? Does it just mean to know them? Does it maybe mean to not change them in any way? The Greek word used here is tereo which means to guard, obey and observe. The Greek word for prison has the same root. So how do we keep His words? It is more than to just know them or to maintain them. To keep the word of God is to imprison them in our hearts and minds. Don’t let them go. Guard them with our lives.

We guard them, we observe them, we obey them, we live them. But what of the law, we are free from the law. So how can we be free from law and yet still have commandments to obey? Are they not the same, commandments and law?

We saw how the law has two facets, a do or do not do, and a punishment for transgression. And we have seen that it is no more an external law but an internal law of the desires of the heart. But here we have commandments. Here we have a way of life laid out in print. And there is not a punishment for not transgressing his commandments.

If we do not keep his commandments then we are still under the law and the law contains the punishment. Do you see it? Jesus said if we keep his commandments, his words, then He will make his abode with us and justify us and free us from the law. So when we keep his words we are free from the law. Then, conversely, when we reject his words, any of his words, we are guilty under the law.

So then we need to receive Him. Have we received him? How do we know we have received him? How do we know we are justified?

Jesus said by their fruits ye shall know them. So what are the fruits? What was the sign of the spirit, the sign that the 120 were told by Jesus to watch for at Pentecost? The sign was Power. How does that power manifest? What is the fruit of that vine?

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions heresies 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they with do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith 23 meekness, temperance: against which there is not law.

See, the law is brought in because of transgressions, because of the work of the flesh, and the law condemns those works and assigns a punishment to them. But the fruit of the spirit aren’t transgressions so there is no law concerning them. So when we receive the spirit of God then we are free from works of the flesh and thus the law concerning those works, being justified by faith in Jesus Christ.

A little note here that I hope doesn’t concern anyone reading here. The word witchcraft doesn’t mean black magic here, it is from the Greek word pharmakeia which means drug user. It means a Drug user of any kind. We are not talking medicines we are talking recreational or addicted drug user. We are talking about cigarette smokers. It refers to marijuana smokers. It is pointing out heroin, MMDA, Cocaine, etc etc users. They are different words but all the same meaning. Paul says if you smoke you will NOT inherit the kingdom of God because you are still under the law as a transgressor of the law and will be judged by the law.

So get free from the works of the flesh today. Jesus Christ bled and died to set you free from those things. Accept him and his sacrifice today. Throw those things out of your life and be saved in Christ. Throw them in the garbage and go to your knees in prayer for strength to overcome, for faith to be delivered and he will give it to you because he promised it. God cannot lie. God cannot fail.

Why can we not live in the works of the flesh and be saved? Because the sprit and the flesh are contrary to each other and the works of the flesh are the very transgressions that the law was added for. We cannot serve God and mammon.

Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and you members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness.

It says here to whom (personal pronoun) we yield ourselves to obey Him (personal pronoun) we serve. If we obey the spirit of God, THEN we are justified by faith and free from the law. But if we yield to sin and the spirit of the world, to the flesh, then we are not justified and still under the law and will be judged accordingly.

And it is not just a matter of doing the acts anymore. We saw earlier that it is a matter of WANTING to do them, of consciously desiring them. Now we are all tempted, that is for sure, and tempted in our weakness and in our flesh. The difference is in what we DECIDE to do about it. A battle rages in the mind of every Christian, the greatest battle ever fought. And the thoughts in our minds during this battle are not sin, they are temptations TO sin. They arise out of our flesh, and out of our weakness.

So what is the difference? When does our fleshly lusts, which we all have and will have until the rapture changes our bodies, when does it become sin? When is it a transgression? When is it the fruit of the flesh? The thoughts are the seed and a seed must germinate and grow to bear fruit. So then when does the seed of sin that the devil is trying to plant become the fruit of the flesh and sin?

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man way when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be temped with evil, neither tempted he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

So the temptation is not sin but a blessing! That is hard to believe and I think most will reread that line because they will think they read it wrong the first time. The temptations are a blessing. The Bible says so. We are blessed when we endure temptation.

The fight in our minds, the evil thoughts that come up, the war we have with the devil on a daily basis, is a blessing to us IF we are overcomers. For when we are tried we receive a crown of life. But when do these trials become a sin, a transgression? When we let them conceive, when we make the decision that we want consciously to do them. It is not just having the desire in our flesh, that is the battle, but when we decide that yes I want to do that. That is when we become wilfull sinners. When we decide that even though we know the Word says not to do it, even though our schoolmaster says it is a transgression, we decide that we want to do it anyway. Then we let the thoughts enter our hearts.

It is at this point that sin conceives in us and bears the fruit in time. Remember Jesus said if a man looks at a woman to lust after her. A healthy man cannot look at a beautiful naked woman without being affected. But that isn’t sin. It is when he decides that he wants to keep looking and lusting, when the spirit says turn away and he thinks in his mind, NO, I like it and I am going to do it, that is when the sin conceives in his heart.

The devil will tell you that “oh you got tempted by this or that and you sinned and are lost”. That is a lie! The temptations are there to prove us, to try us, so that we may receive a crown. We just read that when we are tempted it is a BLESSING to us. The temptations are a blessing to us. It is when we yield to the temptation that we are doing wrong. And pay close attention here. This is a very important point. The devil will only tell you that you are wrong when you are right. And he will only tell you that you are right when you are wrong.

Did you get that? The devil will only tell you that you are lost when you are saved. If you are saved he will never point out your fault to you, he’ll point it out to everyone else, but never to you because he knows once you see your fault that you will repent and be free from it being justified by Jesus Christ. Do you see it?

He will try to get you to compromise on the word. He will try to get you to believe his interpretation where he explains away scripture. He will play with your pride by praising you to try to get you to be proud and steal God’s glory. And he will use your pride by insulting and attacking you to try to get you to step out from the word and defend yourself. And the big one here, he will try and convince you that you sinned a sin beyond salvation, that you are serpent’s seed, that you have gone too far. He will only tell you that when it is a lie because he is a liar. And he will only tell you that when it is not true because-

SATAN IS ONLY AT WAR WITH THE SAINTS!

Did you get that? The devil is only at war with the saints. His battle is with the predestinated children of God. He will never say those things to the lost. He is trying to convince you of his lie by telling you that you are lost. But the Bible says that “all those who cry out in the name of the Lord shall be saved”. The Bible says that “he will never leave us or forsake us”. Is that Bible? Then what the devil says must be a lie.

He will also tell you that you are saved when you are not. He will tell you that what I have said up here today is bunk and not worth the effort to listen to. He is looking to destroy you. If he can’t destroy you completely he at least wants to make you a foolish virgin. He will tell you that you are fine when you are not. And he will tell you that you are lost and unsavable when you are already saved and justified by Jesus Christ.

That devil is cagey and sly but the Bible shows us his colours. Remember the spirit of God shows you your wrongs AND the way to repentance. The law, the schoolmaster is there to lead us the Christ. Is that what we read? The law shows us what transgressions are, and leads us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Amen? So when your mind and thoughts show you that you are wrong and going into judgment with no hope, then that is not God doing it. God shows you your wrongs and leads you to repentance and takes the guilt away.

God doesn’t tell you that you are hopelessly lost, he tells you that he has saved you and that he wants you to repent and come back to him. The one telling you that you are lost and beyond hope is the devil. And he is a liar. He always was a liar and always will be a liar. Don’t believe a word of it. There certainly will be a time when it will be too late to repent, but don’t think the devil will remind you of that. He wants to convince you to give up, to believe that you are too bad, too evil, too weak, too sinful to be saved. DON”T BELIEVE IT!

The law is our schoolmaster which shows us what transgressions are that we may come repenting to Christ and receive Jesus and be justified by Christ in faith. The law, the Bible, shows us that we are wrong so that we might have cause to repent and come to Christ. The Law shows us our faults so that we might make them right. The law shows us our weakness so that we may seek the strength of Jesus Christ. The law shows us our unrighteousness so that we may seek to be covered in the robes of His righteousness. The law shows us our sin so that we may wash it in the blood of the lamb. The law shows us judgment that we may find grace.

Fight the fight. Put on the whole armour of God. Give NO place to the devil. Make not provision for the flesh to fulfill the lusts thereof. Don’t allow your fleshly lusts to conceive sin. Get into Christ. Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and receive the Holy Spirit. It is for you. It is God’s promise to you. Get out from under the law and under the all sufficient umbrella of grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The door is still open, He is still on the mercy seat, the fountain is open deep and wide to wash away all your sin, all your iniquity and make you a new creation in Christ Jesus the Lord. Get everything under the blood Jesus Christ. Let the schoolmaster show you what is wrong that you might make it right. Examine the rule of the schoolmaster that you might be led to Christ and justified by faith in him.

There is no other salvation, nor any other name given where we can find salvation. Jesus Christ alone, in him dwells the fullness of the godhead bodily.

The Bible goes on to say that in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God and the word was made flesh and dwelt amongst men. Jesus Christ is the word of God made flesh. The Bible is Jesus Christ, the word of God, in print. Paul says to change a word, even if you were an angel from heaven, you get you cursed. We must accept the whole word of God, the entire Bible, exactly as it is written with no interpretations or changes. Our doctrine must hold true from Genesis to Revelation. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever. His word will never change.

Look into the perfect law of liberty today and let it lead you to the one salvation, the one true God and eternal life, the Lord Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is the healer of all of our diseases. He forgives all of your transgressions. Accept him as your Lord and savior. Repent and be baptized in his name and come out from under the bondage of the law today.

In Jesus Christ’s blessed and Holy Name. AMEN.

A Man After God’s Own Heart

A Man After God’s Own Heart

The outward expression of God’s inner desire.

The Meaning of Life.

1 Samuel 13: 13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel forever. 14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath Commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.

May the Lord add his blessing to his word. I hope everyone is hungry because tonight’s message is a little meaty. Lord willing, by this word tonight, we will all take one big step closer to God. With God’s help, I am going to answer a very troubling question that has stumped philosophers for millennia. I am going to tell you the Meaning of Life.

In 1 Samuel 15 we read about Saul and how God told Saul that he was finished because he did not obey the Word of God. He told him that obedience was more than sacrifice. That scripture spoke the end of Saul’s reign but here, a little earlier on, we find that God had told Saul that he was taking the kingdom away from him for much the same reason. We find here that Saul could not obey the word of God. And here we also find that God wants a man that is after his own heart.

Saul was a very religious man. He was an anointed king. He believed in God. He was not by any means an unbeliever. Saul was a believer, he was not, however, an obeyer. Saul’s heart was not according to the Lord’s will. He had his own ideas. He had logic. He had reasoning. And Saul had fear. Let’s take a little background here on this story for those who don’t remember it to clearly.

Samuel had told Saul to wait at Gilgal for him to return and that Samuel would be a good seven days behind. After seven days passed and Samuel had not shown up yet, Saul got scared. He knew his heart was not right with God and testified of it to Samuel. The Philistines were ready to attack and Saul in fear made a burnt offering. That was not his job. He was a king. It was the prophet’s job to bring the burnt offering. As soon as Saul had finished, Samuel appeared on the scene. We just read what transpired between them.

Now Saul went on to win the battle that was ahead against the Philistines but his kingdom was still rent from his hands. Even after Saul failed in the Amelekite war to obey God and had Samuel tell him that he was rejected by the Lord God, his kingdom seemed to stand for quite some time. Two years into Saul’s reign God told him that he was going to strip his kingdom from him, and yet Saul reigned as King for 40 years! But the Lord God said he would take it away and God surely did it. The destruction of the Amelekites was a promise God had made some 500 years earlier and the longsuffering of God allowed the nation to stand for 5 more centuries before he obliterated it. We have some promises for this age too.

So don’t ever be thinking to yourself that you got away with something. Get that out of your mind right away. If you did wrong, make it right. God is not ignoring your iniquity, he is giving you time to repent before he calls on you to answer for it. God is longsuffering concerning judgment but don’t ever confuse his longsuffering and grace with slackness. Every jot and tittle, every idle word is recorded and we will be held accountable.

What does God want in a man or a woman? Did you ever ask yourself that question? What does God really want from you? What does God really expect from me? That is a very important question because without the answer how will we ever know if we are right in the sight of God? How can we know if we are pleasing God without knowing exactly what he wants us to do? Did you ever have a job where your job description was not clearly defined, where you were not sure what your level of authority was, where you did not know all the required tasks or they were ambiguous? A job like that will age you prematurely. You never know if you are doing a good job and eventually you will be told that you are doing a bad job because you are not doing what is required. Tasks are not being completed. How can you complete your tasks if you don’t even know what they are? It is the same with the Lord.

God’s one central requirement from us is that we have the right attitude. Saul had a bad attitude. He was puffed up in his own mind. He thought that his thoughts and ideas had merit. He was religious and logical but did not give over fully to God. God gave him some direct and simple orders and instead of believing and obeying those orders, he allowed himself to interpret the Word of God to fit his fleshly desires. Sound familiar.

Saul was not a man after God’s own heart, he was a man after his own heart.

2 Corinthians 10: 12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

This describes Saul’s heart perfectly. He measured himself by himself. He did not obey God’s word exactly as it was spoken because he had his own ideas and he interpreted God’s word to match those ideas. But the Lord wants a man after his own heart. God wants a man who will take God’s word exactly as it is written, believe God’s word exactly as it is written, and obey God’s word exactly as it is written.

Where does the word of God come from?

A word is a thought expressed. Before you or I can speak a word the thought has to be first in your mind. And before the thought can be in your mind, the desire must first be in your heart. The Word of God comes from the thoughts of God. And the thoughts of God come from the desires of God’s heart. Do you see it? Do you believe it? The Word of God is the manifest expression of the deepest desires of God’s own heart! That might be a new one for some people so I’ll let that sink in.

The Word of God, this Holy Bible, is the manifest expression of the very desires and intents of God’s own heart.

The Lord God Jehovah wants a man after his own heart. Is it coming clearer? God wants you and me to be the manifest expression of the desires of his own heart. God wants you and me to be his holy revealed word expressed to the world.

2 Corinthians 3: 2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

We are to be written epistles. That is in our job description. We are here to demonstrate God’s will to the world. We are here to show God’s motives by living them out in our lives. We are here to physically manifest the Lord God’s inner objectives. We are here to outwardly express the inner desire of God’s own heart.

Our lives are meant to be the expressed physical manifestation of the innermost intents and desires of God’s own heart!

Did that hit a chord in anyone? The purpose for your very existence is to manifest the desires of God’s own heart and express those desires to others! If that don’t get your heart going nothing will.

Saul failed to express God’s desires. He was given God’s Word. He was given God’s thoughts perfectly expressed. Saul was made privy to the very inner desires of God’s heart, but instead of obeying and expressing the inner desire of God’s heart, Saul expressed the desires of his own heart.

God’s inner desires are expressed perfectly in God’s thoughts. God’s thoughts are expressed perfectly in God’s Word. Since God’s Word is the perfect expression of his inner desires, anything besides his word must be contrary to the desires of God’s heart. In order to be a man after God’s own heart, our lives must be the expression and manifestation of the desires of God’s heart. In order to be a man after God’s own heart your life MUST be a perfect representation of God’s word! We’ll let that sink in too. I told you it was meaty. If and only if we live a perfect representation of the Word of God, then we are according to God’s own heart.

If we cannot agree with the written revealed word for the hour, if our doctrine is different than God’s written word, then our thoughts are different than God’s thoughts, and our desires are different than God’s desires. Think about that. If we change one word in this Bible, if we add one word to this Bible, if we take one word away from this Bible, then we are not the expression or manifestation of God’s desires. If we try to alter this word in any way, we become an abomination to the Lord God.

To attempt to change or alter or dismiss a single word out of this Bible will bring damnation upon us.

But it is done all the time. The Catholics believe that the Pope has the right to change the Bible and add or take away at his discretion. The Jehovah’s witnesses believe that the group who writes the watchtower has the right to bring any doctrine of their choosing and add or take away from the Bible at will. The Mormons simply wrote their own book. There is a growing belief spread by the World Council of Churches that any religion is good no matter what their doctrines. Most people today who call themselves Christians do not believe that the Bible is the perfect, unfailing word of God. But what does the Bible say about that?

Galatians 1: 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Accursed! Every single one of them is accursed! You change this word, you disregard this word, you preach contrary to this word and you will be accursed. This is it! This Bible is the sole expression of the inner desires of God’s own heart! There is no other! God wants men and women whose lives are the manifest expression of this written word. The only people who will be raptured off of this planet are those whose lives are the perfect expression and representation of the revealed word of God for the hour! Saul believed the Word of God he just could not obey and live the word of God and God rejected him for it. Live this message and you go home! Believe this message and don’t live it and you stay here for the tribulation!

James 2: 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Oh my, there it is in black and white. It doesn’t do us any good to believe if we don’t obey. The devil believes. Is that Bible? Do you believe it? We just read it. And not just Satan himself, but the devils, plural, believe and tremble. They believe every word but they cannot obey it. They know it is the Word of God. They know its power. But their hearts reject it.

Saul believed every word of Scripture, but he could not obey it because the desire of his heart was not for the things of God. Saul’s treasures were earthly. Saul’s mind was carnal. The carnal mind is enmity with God. As long was we are not born again our minds will be carnal and our desires will not be the desires of God. Without the new birth we will never be able to express the desires of God in our lives. As Jesus so eloquently put it, except you be born again you will never see the kingdom of heaven.

But the Lord God found a man after his own heart. God found a man who had the desire to obey God’s word. He was a ruddy little fellow out in the back pasture. He had no education. He was not sophisticated. He never went to a Bible school or a seminary. He didn’t even have grade school, let alone a college degree. But this little fellow had a heart to obey God. His name was David.

Now David was not perfect. He made some pretty glaring errors. But his errors were not an intentional disregard for the word of God. David was not sinning willfully. Saul was. Remember when Samuel came to Saul to confront him about the Amelekite problem, Saul defended his actions. David was a different type of man. When David was confronted about his errors, he confessed his faults and threw himself on the mercy of God. David was not a willful sinner. Saul sinned willfully. Saul knew right from wrong and did contrary to God’s word because his own desires were different than God’s desires. Saul had more respect unto his own wishes than to God’s wishes. David was just a man weak in the flesh.

Where do we stand tonight? We all make errors every day. We will fall short every day till we die. But why do we make those errors? Are we simply weak in the flesh being overcome in a fault, or are we willfully disregarding the Word of God in favour of our own desires? Are we after God’s own heart, or are we the children of disobedience?

Hebrews 10: 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

You hear this word. I hear this revealed word of God for the hour. Saul heard the word. David heard the word. You believe this word. Saul believed the word. Satan believes the word. David believed the word. David was a man after God’s own heart. In David’s heart was a desire to please God and to obey every word of God. In Saul’s heart was a desire to please himself. Where do we stand? What is the desire of your heart? You know. God knows. Are we men and women after God’s own heart? Is our desire to live according to the word of God.

Be a man or woman after God’s own heart!

Do we hear the word and justify our actions, or do we hear the word and repent of our actions? Do we hear the word and disregard it in favor of our teachings and dogmas and traditions, or do we hear the word and disregard our teachings and dogmas and traditions?

There has apparently been a lot of talk of Xmas trees lately. The Bible, in Jeremiah in chapter ten, strictly forbids us to have Xmas trees because they are heathen idols. It says “do not do as the heathens do”. What will you do when hearing that? Will you disregard the word of the Lord and justify your actions in having the tree and decorations? Or will you tear down and throw out that heathen idol with all its trappings and have no more to do with it? What do you think Saul would have done? What do you think David would have done?

What will you do?

You, right here, right now are faced with a decision. You have been given the Word of God. Here it is again so you don’t miss it:

Jeremiah 10: 1 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: 2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

You might say that you have a tree and God blesses you. God blessed Saul with a great victory against Palestine immediately after telling him that he was rejected. God blessed Israel in the desert for 40 years in blessing you cannot even imagine and the Bible says everyone of them was already dead. There is the Word of the Lord God in black and white forbidding the trees. What will you do?

Suppose you hear in Acts 2: 38 that you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and read in Acts 19 that says even if you were baptized in a different method, that you must be rebaptized for the remission of sins. And what if you also search the scriptures and church histories to find that the only baptism ever performed in the Bible and right up until the Nicene Council of 325 AD was by full immersion in water in the “Name of Jesus Christ”? And what if your church baptizes in titles, or sprinkles instead of immersing? What would Saul have done? What would David have done?

What will you do?

What will you do? You have some decisions to make. There is no turning away from it. We will either accept and obey the Word of the Lord God, or we will reject it. Will you, as the Ethiopian, and as Apollos and his 12 congregation members, run quickly to the water to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ? Or will you sin willfully and disregard what the Bible tells you in favor of the baptism in titles that the Catholic Church commands?

I told you this would be meaty. We are making decisions right now that will determine our destinations. We are actually choosing between Heaven and Hell, right here, right now. Will you obey the Bible or will you obey the Jezebel Religion? What is your life manifesting right now? Are you the expressed manifestation of the Word of God, or the expressed manifestation of dogmas, creeds and traditions? Are you a man after God’s own heart? Are you a David or are you a Saul? Who would you like to be?

God would have established Saul’s Kingdom forever. But Saul rejected God’s will, so God rejected Saul. That is how it works. David replaced him. He made mistakes. He made errors. But David’s heart was to please God and obey his word. Saul justified his actions. David repented of his actions.

You will make mistakes. Will you justify yourself or will you repent? When Jesus died for our sins he died for ALL of our sins; the ones past, the ones present, and the ones future. All we have to do is repent and follow the Word of God. Put it all under the blood. But we have to have a heart to follow the Word of God. We have to have a heart to obey the Word of God. We have to place this Word above all else. We all have an absolute in our lives.

Our absolute must be the revealed Word of God for the hour.

The word of God is the perfect expression of the very inner desires of God’s own heart. I made a promise a few minutes ago. I told you that I was going to tell you the meaning of life. Here it is.

The Meaning of Life:

Our very existence on this planet, our only reason for being here, the very meaning and essence of human life, is to be the physical manifestation and expression of the innermost desire of God’s heart through faithful obedience to God’s Word.

Simple isn’t it?

That is the meaning of life. That is why we are here. That is why the universe was created. That is why there are trees and birds, rocks and fish, elephants and meteors, stars and starfish. Everything is to express the innermost desires of God’s heart.

Revelation 4: 10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

There it is in black and white. All things were created for the pleasure, for the desire of God’s heart. Our purpose is to express that inner desire through obedience to God’s word.

If you are living according to the Word of God, if you are living this end time message, if you are a written epistle read of all men, if your life is a testimony of Jesus Christ, then you are a man or woman after God’s own heart.

If not then there is no time like the present. Repent and turn to God. That is all we have to do. Saul made mistakes, David made mistakes, but David repented and turned back to God. Repent! Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Put everything under the blood. Consecrate your life to him. Obey his word and you shall live. David repented. Repent like David did and be a man after God’s own heart like David was.

Choose this day whom ye will serve.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Be a man, a woman, after God’s own heart!

Treasures in Heaven

Great Possessions

Treasures in Heaven

Today’s message is a little meaty. I am not trying to be rough, but the truth must be spoken. I pray you are blessed by God’s holy word.

Matthew 19: 16 And behold, one came and said unto him, Good master, what good thing shall I do. That I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said unto him, if thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

May God add His blessing to the reading of the Word.

Seek Treasures in Heaven
Seek First Treasures in Heaven

Great possessions. This man had great possessions. Possessions that were far too great for him to relinquish. He had possessions that were of more value to him than eternal life. He wanted eternal life, but when he realized the cost he could not bear it. He was not an unbeliever either. It sounds insane on the surface and it also sounds like a rare occasion, but we will see that it is very, very common indeed.

So here is a man living what we would consider a perfect life and holy life. He kept all the commandments. He lived a life of perfect works. Yet with this perfect life he still could not enter into the kingdom of God. His possessions got in his way. There were things in his earthly life that he valued more than eternal life. There are many different kinds of possessions.

2 Corinthians 7: 1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Cleanse ourselves from the filthiness of the flesh AND of the spirit. We hear about the filthiness of the flesh but not too often about the filthiness of the spirit. The two can be related but they can also be separate too. Here is a little example of the connection of the flesh to the spirit. The prophet Elisha had a helper name Gehazi. The Syrian Naaman had leprosy and came to the prophet for help. Elisha gave him instructions of dunking himself seven times in the Jordan River to be cleansed. When Naaman was cured of his leprosy he came back to the prophet and offered him a substantial sum for the help. The prophet refused and Naaman left. Gehazi secretly chased after Naaman and asked for some of the loot. He got it and hid it and went back to Elisha and pretended as though nothing happened. Elisha questioned him offering him a chance to confess and be free but he lied to the prophet, thereby lying to God and then Elisha spoke.

2 Kings 5: 26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen and menservants, and maidservants? 27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

With the earthly treasures came the plague. Today with the earthly treasures come the plagues as well. Money? A great tool, but if that money gets hold of you and becomes your treasure, then you become its slave and receive the plagues of money with it. Plagues like worry, which leads to heart disease and cancer. But money is only one treasure among many. And each physical treasure comes with its own spiritual side.

There are other more elusive treasures. Babylonian garments. Wedges of silver. Do we have any in our camp? We have many more than you would think. Things of the world have slipped into the message ranks, into Christian homes and Christian lives. Some are small and illusive while others just baffle the mind. Did you know that there are “message people” who have Christmas trees? For those of you who do not understand why this is bad, here is the scripture for it.

Jeremiah 10: 1 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaks unto you, Oh house of Israel. 2 Thus Saith the Lord, Learn no the way of the heather, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

Thus saith the Lord. No interpretation needed here but they do it anyway. I hope nobody reading here does it, and if you do, now you know better. Never, ever have one of those heathen idols in your house ever again. And certainly never in the church. The Bible makes no bones about it. It says if you have a Christmas tree you are a heathen! Period. I don’t care how many tapes you have, how long your skirt is or where you have the zipper, the Bible says that if you put up those Christmas decorations you are a heathen. That is not me, that is “thus saith the Lord”. And these people will not relinquish their possession, their Xmas trees and lights in favour of eternal life. Just like the rich man, they believe, yet refuse to obey. How about you and I?

Babylonian garments aren’t just clothing, they include all the things of the world that go contrary to the Bible and contrary to the message. Did you know that prophet told us that the only woman in the Bible who wore make-up was Jezebel? There are some “in the message” who think that if makeup isn’t a bright colour or if it has a different name on the label then it is not make-up. They wear lip gloss, clear nail polish, cover-up etc. There are Pentecostals who know better. The prophet raged against that thing for decades and people are still wearing it. If you won’t take my word for it and you won’t take the prophet’s word for it, here is what the Bible said.

1 Timothy 2: 9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.

How can a woman profess godliness while looking like Jezebel? How much makeup is too much? Is a little OK? Would it have been OK for Israel to just bow one knee to Baal? Can both sweet and bitter water come out of the same well? And why dress up with make-up anyway? A woman does not put on makeup to go out to meet God, she does it to go out to meet men. So there it is in a nutshell and I don’t think anyone needs a more clear translation of what that means.

The Bible pointed out that God had Elijah curse Jezebel and He fed her to the dogs. God don’t change so what He did then He must do today or he is a hypcrite. Do we want to be dog food? Get rid of that thing! You might think I am picking on the sisters but don’t worry the men got a spank coming too.

What other treasures do we have laid up? What is in our hearts, for the Bible says that where our treasures are, there will our hearts be also. What are our great possessions? Where are our treasures?  Where is our heart? What other Babylonian garments do we have hidden in our hearts?

There is a more insidious evil afoot. They hide in our midst, and they can hide in our hearts. There are invisible Babylonian garments. Jesus called them “leaven”. They are ideas, and dogmas, and beliefs, or more precisely unbelief in the Word of God.

Matthew 9: 16 No man puts a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up takes from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runs out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

You cannot mix it. You cannot put a holy patch on an unholy Babylonian garment, or visa versa. Both will be destroyed. Before Elisha could take up Elijah’s garment, he first had to cast off his own robe. He could not wear both together. He could not put that holy robe together with an unholy robe. Neither can we put on the wedding garment, which is the Holy Spirit while we are still wearing a Babylonian garment. Light and dark cannot coexist. Light casts out all darkness. If there is darkness then there is no light at all. Jesus said that the light of the body is the eye, and if the light be darkness, then we are in complete darkness. The Bible says in this day that the world would be a darkness and the people a gross darkness. Completely blind! Pitch black!

Neither can we put new wine in old bottles. In the days when Jesus was speaking they did not use glass bottles, they used wine skins. An old wine skin is dry and brittle and a new wine is bubbling full of life. If you put that new wine in the old bottle it will bubble up and the pressure will burst the old dried leather. The Holy Spirit is alive and bubbling, a well of life, and it cannot dwell in a denominational bottle. It cannot dwell in a religious bottle. Too many people these days come to the message with their old denominational, religious spirit and instead of getting cleansed of it they just get a different religion.  Full of the same religious hypocritical spirit under a new banner.

And once we get one Babylonian garment in our camp, then more will follow.

Galatians 5: 7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 8 This persuasion comes not of Him that called you. 9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

Some of the Jewish religion was creeping into the camp of the Saints and Paul warned them that if they did not stop it, then it could indeed take over completely for a little leaven will leaven the WHOLE lump. That is both in the individual and in the group. A little leaven in your life will eat up your entire life like a cancer. A little religious spirit, a little of the world, and soon your entire life will be consumed by it and you won’t even know it.

And when we have one person with that spirit in our midst, that spirit will try to take over everyone. We will do things that the Bible warns us not to do, and we will think we are holy while doing it. I know one church where everyone calls the preacher “Pastor”. In Matthew 23 the Bible warns us call no man “Rabbi”, which is pastor, for you have one master which is God. And the people so reverently refer to their preacher as pastor and get offended when someone simply calls him brother. And they have no clue that what they are doing is contrary to the word of God. It is a Babylonian garment right in their midst and they don’t see it. We have had those spirits come in over the years and we all know it. It was God who kept us safe from it. Paul had it come into the Corinthian church and he dealt with it speedily, but that spirit still caused damage and some of the people did not realize it.

1 Corinthians 5: 2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

A little leaven will leaven the whole lump. It was the same in Paul’s day and in Peter’s day.

Acts 5: 1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sod a possession, 2 and kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 While it remained, was it not thine own? And after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? Why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6 and the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him. 7 and it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8 and Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said Yea, for so much. 9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the foot of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. 10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. 11 and great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things. 12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people;(and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch). 13 and of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.

Peter got rid of it right away. He rooted it out and cleaned his house. Paul got rid of it right away. Are we willing to get rid of it or are we like the rich man, and like Ananias? Is our treasure, our Babylonian garment of more value to us than eternal life? Do we cling to creeds and dogmas? Are we allowing, or worse enabling, religious spirits to take over. Leaven! Sin! Creed! Dogma! Tradition! Worldliness! Culture! Denominationalism! Are we full of leaven? Are we new bottles or old bottles? Are we ready to take off the old garment stained with sin and put on Jesus Christ? Do we have treasures in heaven or are our treasures still here on earth? These are questions we must ask ourselves, and answer.

This earth will burn with an unquenchable fire where the very elements will melt. Your house, your car, your money, your clothes, your church and even your very flesh will be devoured by it if you are still here. Nuclear fission at 300 million degrees will turn everything to ashes and volcanoes will finish the rest. Nothing that is on this earth will stand. No thing, not dogma, no religion, no isms, no unbelief will stand the heat.

Search your camp! Find that garment, find that wedge of silver! Do you know what power is behind every leaven? Do you realize who is behind every one of these things? It is a devil, a demon. Satan himself is behind it. And the Bible says in Romans chapter six that to whom we yield ourselves to obey, his servants we are. Do you want to serve the devil? He is the one making you sick, he is the one making you die, he is causing every pain and grief in your life. Why would we want to say or do anything to serve him? Think about it. You put on that Babylonian garment and you are serving the very one that is trying to destroy you.

And every time we are accepting the leaven we are rejecting the Word of God which is Jesus Christ. We cannot serve God and Mammon. We will hate one and love the other.

John 2: 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides for ever.

Love not the world for if we love the world the love of the Father is not in us. Love not the Babylonian garment. Love not the wedge of silver. Love not money. Love not culture. Love not tradition. Pretty straight. And here is one you may have never heard before. Listen close. Religion is worldly! Cain, the serpent’s seed, built the first alter! Balaam had an altar. The Pharisees and Sadducees who turned over Jesus Christ to be murdered lived and worked in the churches. If we love the world, or worldliness, or religious hypocrisy, or unbiblical dogma, or culture, or tradition, whether in item or in idea or in word, then we do not love the Lord God. Let that sink in.

We cannot love both the world and the Lord God. If we love God then we will not love the world. If we love the world then we simply do not love the Lord.

And I’ll say it again; it is not just things. It is ideas. Ideas are the root of it. Whether scientific, social, or philosophical, or religious, worldly ideas are an enemy to God. Worldly ideas are carnal ideas and the Bible says that the carnal mind is enmity towards God. If we hold to worldliness we become God’s enemy for we are serving Satan in the process. That is pretty strong but I am obligated to tell you the truth. I will have to give an answer for it one day so I will give you the whole truth.

We have only discussed a couple of ideas so far; makeup, Xmas trees, dogma. There are numerous others. How about political things? How about the whole politically correct movement? How about the dogmas creeping into the message? Here is a new one for some. There is a dogma that if a woman has her zipper on the front of her skirt it becomes a garment pertaining to a man. Show me that in the Bible! Show me that in the message! Show me one place in 1100 sermons that the prophet said that, suggested that, or made even the slightest elusion to that. It’s not there! But these same people who push this unbiblical, un-message dogma will have Xmas trees and Xmas lights and think nothing wrong of it. They will strain at a gnat and swallow a camel. It is a religious spirit. Solomon said they are like an adulteress woman who will eat and wipe her mouth and say I have done nothing wrong.

They are denomonationalizing at the same time. They decide who is in and who is out of the message, who is and who is not a Christian, based on their personal dogmas. They judge themselves by themselves. A spirit gets in there and takes over. It comes through money, power, and popularity. A little culture, a bit of philosophy, some psychology, a bit here and a bit there. It starts slowly, almost innocently. Almost. It starts as a little compromise and once the devil gets his hooks in he keep digging and digging until he has control of everything. And he will make them so religious while blinding them to the truth. Be careful brothers and sisters. If someone brings an idea and you cannot find it in the Bible, leave it alone. If the Bible forbids it, run away from it.

So what do we do? How do we fight? We have to stick to the word, and only the word, both in doctrine and in rule in our lives. It is not enough to claim the Word, it is not even enough to believe the Word, we must LIVE the Word. We must cleanse our lives, sanctify ourselves from the uncleanness of the world. We must separate ourselves from unbelief. We must sell out to God for He purchased us with His own blood.

Anything that is more important to us than the Word of God is an idol! If we place anything above God in our lives we are idolaters! Let that sink in. These are not just words. This is God’s Word. If we place anything in our lives above or before the Word of God we become Idol Worshipers! You think that was a scorcher, wait for it, it gets worse. Not only do we worship the Idol, we worship the spirit behind the idol. And the devil is the spirit behind every single idol.

Here is some of the toughest meat you will hear. I’m not trying to be hard on you but we need to hear the truth. We need to be warned. I hope everyone is ready for it. If we willfully disobey the Word because we want to do something contrary to it, or cling to an idea or creed contrary to scriptures, something that we love, that our flesh loves, that is against the Word and against the message, or if we refuse to believe or obey something that is in the Word or the message, if we add or take away from the Word of God, then we become devil worshippers.

That won’t sit right with some but it is the Bible. We are so close to the rapture that you can almost taste it in the air. It will take meat to get us ready. We should all be weaned of the milk by now.

So let’s clean camp. Let’s toss out the garbage. Let’s do a soul searching.

Matthew 6: 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. 21 for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Let’s look to God for treasures in heaven. It is a place that is so incredible that the Bible says no man has seen it and it has not even entered into anyone’s imagination how beautiful it is. So what kind of treasures can we have in heaven?

Our treasures in heaven are the experiences we have with Jesus Christ here in this life. Therefore we have to know Him, the Lord Jesus Christ, personally. How can we have experiences with God if we have never met him? But we are given promises.

Matthew 7: 7 Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you.

The Bible says that God is more willing to give than we are to receive. He is closer to us than our own breath. He is waiting on us to ask that He might give. He is waiting for us to seek that He may reveal. He is waiting for us to knock that He may open unto us. Seek! Ask! Knock! In fact the Bible goes on to say that in this age Jesus isn’t even waiting for us to knock but is Himself knocking at the door to our hearts. Do you hear him? He is knocking at this moment. He wants to come in to dwell with you. He is knocking with His Word. He wants to fill you with his love, with his power, with his eternal life. Open to him and receive great treasures; treasures that are too wonderful for a mortal mind to even imagine.

Now I’ve torn a little strip off you today and I thought I was pruning to deep but then I read “Arrow of God’s Deliverance” from 1956, preached by Brother William Branham, and I realized I may not be pruning quite enough. That’s your homework by the way. “Arrow of God’s deliverance” preached at Shreveport in 1956. I don’t hand you slices of the message by quoting, I give you the whole loaf. Bon Appetite!

We’ve got to get back to God! We must leave everything behind and get to the cross, get to Jesus Christ. This day is the day when we are too busy for God. The lukewarm Laodicean church age where we got just enough religion to make God sick to his stomach about us. Get back to God! Get back to praying. Get back to his word, back to the Bible. Get those treasures in heaven while the door is still open. Start testifying. Start living. We should be standing out as different from the whole world. We have been granted access to the revealed word of God brought by a vindicated prophet that the world has not yet seen or heard. The denominational churches are lodges now. They are full of preachers having itching ears, turning from the truth to fables. God sent us a message in our age, the revealed word of God vindicated in signs, wonders and miracles. Where is the fruit of that message in our lives? Where are the treasures? We have seen many mighty miracles in the past. But that was yesterday. What about today? What about this very morning? That was Gideon’s question, “where are the miracles of God today?”

We need a move of God in our lives each and every day of our lives!

We need to add to our heavenly treasure chest with each moment of our day. In Peter’s day the Bible says that many works were done by the apostles so that the people brought sick into the streets, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow them and everyone was healed. Paul’s apron from where he worked was taken and cut up and sent to sick people and when the fabric was lain on the sick, they were healed. Our preachers today don’t even have jobs. Where it the fruit in their lives? Where is the fruit in our lives? Where is the supernatural moving of the Holy Spirit in signs, wonders and miracles today? Today if we get sick we run to the doctors. Nothing against the doctors but why are we not running to Christ? It is the same God, the same Jesus Christ, the same Holy Spirit, in Peter as was in Paul as is supposed to be in each of us.

Let’s get waiting upon the Lord so that we might have the same treasures. God is not respecter of persons. He is waiting and wanting to work in us the same way He worked in the first church age but we hinder Him. Our unbelief and our Babylonian garments hinder him. We cling more closely to our creeds, traditions and dogmas than to his word. He cannot dwell in an unclean vessel. He will not work in a vessel that is grieving Him.

Let’s get sanctified unto the Lord! It is time for a house cleaning in the Christian Church. Sweep out the dust and the cobwebs from your heart. Wash the windows of your soul. Let’s get our lamps lit and our vessels filled with holy oil. It doesn’t matter what the next church is doing, or what some denomination is doing, or what the government is doing; we won’t be judged by them. We will be judged by the Word of God so let’s do what God is doing. Let’s get our dwelling place fit for a King.

If the Prime minister was coming to your house to visit next week, I wonder how many here wouldn’t take a couple of days off work and be up all night getting everything clean are arranged perfect for him. We are expecting the King of Kings and Lord of Lords to come to dwell in our temples and we can hardly take a couple of hours on a Sunday to clean up let alone to work at it during the week. We need a wake-up call. The bride is asleep and if she don’t wake up soon she will be too late. Get cleaned up! Get filled! Trim your lamps!

Cry out for more of God. Work at it. Go through all the rooms of your heart and toss out all the dirty worldly garments spotted with sin. Those worldly treasures are an abomination to God. Get rid of them. Build up treasure upon treasure in heaven. God is waiting for us. He accomplished everything at Calvary. He did his part. Now it is time for us to do ours.

We have to decide. World or Word. Life or death. God or devil. Light or darkness. Heaven or earth. I trust we are all on the narrow road but the road is extremely narrow. It is too narrow to take baggage along with us. We have to lay every burden at Jesus’ feet. He is the only one who can carry our burden. Put it under the blood. Turn to the Lord while he may be found, tomorrow could be too late.

You might feel I am being a little hard this morning but it is only because I love each and every one of you and want only what is best for you. I want every one here to have more treasure in heaven than they know what to do with. I want everyone here to be so filled with the Holy Spirit that signs and wonders flow like a gusher in your lives and the only way for that to happen is if our hearts and minds are circumcised, if our lives are free from the bondage of worldly treasures and we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Remember the Word of God is a two edged sword, cutting when it comes and when it goes. As such I am preaching as much to myself as I am to you. We are all falling short from the pulpit to the doorstop.

If we fail to feed our bodies we starve to death. If we eat poison our bodies will get sick and die. It is the same for our souls. If we do not feed our souls they will starve and if we feed our souls poison they will die. The world is poison, religion is poison, politics is poison, philosophy is poison, superstition is poison, traditions are poison, culture is poison, creeds are poison, horoscopes are deadly poison. What are we feeding to our souls? Poison? Or are we feeding ourselves living manna from heaven? Or are we starving our souls to death? What would happen if we ate twice on Sundays and once on Wednesdays when we are not too busy? We might stay alive, but we would not have much life in us. We surely would not be working to hard and surely not making much of a living. Our souls are no different. If we want our souls to live, to thrive, to be strong in the fight, we need to feed them daily and feed them living manna.

Do you think the apostles had such a mighty working in their midst by going to church once or twice a week when the weather was good?

Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 and they continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers; 43 and fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles….46 And they, continued daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.

The continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine DAILY. They did not just hear it once or twice a week but they ate the word and lived it daily, day in and day out, every single day, and the Lord God manifested himself through them vindicating His word with supernatural signs and wonders.

If we want the same moving of God that the first church had, the same manifestations that the pthey had, then we have to do as they did. We have to seek God daily with all our hearts, minds and souls. We have to lay up treasures in heaven each and every day of our lives. The treasures are waiting for us. They are freely given and all we have to do is ask.

So let’s encourage one another. Let’s pray one for another. Let’s set aside time for God every day. I tell you the devil will do everything to stop you. He will remind you of all the things you need to get done first. Keep this little song in your heart this week:

Victory is mine,

Victory is mine,

Victory today is mine.

I told Satan to get thee behind,

Victory today is mine.

Victory is ours today! Claim it. Seek God, He will answer. Decide on a mission, a mission to get more of God, a mission to meet the pillar of fire, a mission to get rapture ready, a mission to get your “house” clean for Jesus to dwell in. Feed your soul with manna. Read your Bible. Get into hearing sermons. Cast out the Babylonian garments. Pray and wait on the Lord God. Pray one for another. We are all members of the same body. Let’s start doing that today!

God Working in Us

The message for today is one of encouragement. It is the message of the Lord God Jehovah working in us.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

May the Lord God add his blessing to the reading of his word.

God at WorkIt is a short scripture but there is so much in it. It is God working in you, in me. We are not Christians of our own accord, it is by the grace of God. We could not do this on our own. We did not come here on our own. We cannot understand this word of God on our own. But it is God Himself working in us.

Who here has been delivered? Did you do that or did God deliver you? Who has been healed? Did you do it or did God heal you?

Everything we have is of God. He is the giver of all good gifts. God himself is working in us for two purposes: to will or desire His good pleasure, and to do His good pleasure.

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father.

Your very desire for God is not of yourself but is given to you from God. We are fleshly creatures the same as the world. We lived in sin the same as the world. We were conceived in iniquity, born in sin and come into the world speaking lies. Every one of us the same as the world.

Yet there is something different about us. When we heard the word of God we accepted and believed it. When we heard the voice of the Shepard we came and followed him. Why? What makes us different? Are we holier than they are? No. Are we more righteous than they are? No. Are we smarter than they are? No. The difference is that God is working in us. God is working in us!

John 6: 43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Have you come to the Son? We have all come to Jesus if we are Christians? We have come because God drew us. We can only come to Jesus if God draws us. We can only come to Jesus if God is working in us. Jesus Christ is the word of God. Amen? The message is the Revealed Word of God. Amen? So we can only come to the word, to believe the message of the hour if God is working on us. And to believe the message is not simply to parrot the prophet. To believe the message is to have the message, the word of God, the Bible, revealed to you by the Holy Spirit. That is God working in you.

But that does not mean that we can be slack and idle. We have a job too.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Prove the perfect will of God. Be not conformed to this world. Who runs the world? The devil. So be not conformed to the devil’s world, but be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. Be transformed into the Word of God. Present your bodies as a living sacrifice. Did you ever ask yourself what this means or what it entails? What are we sacrificing? We are sacrificing our flesh. We are crucifying our fleshly desires, our ungodly lusts, for Christ. To present ourselves as a holy sacrifice unto the Lord we must be holy, and we can only be holy if the Holy Spirit dwells in us. That, once again is God working in us. It is His holiness that makes us holy.

We also have to offer up the sacrifice of praise. Jesus said if we will deny him then he will deny us, but if we will confess him, then he will confess us. Did you ever wonder why it is so hard to open your mouth and praise God sometimes? The hardest thing for people to do is to praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, even in church. The devil, and our flesh are working against us. But God is working in us, and if we choose to think God’s thoughts, then we will overcome our flesh and the devil and be able to raise our voices and praise and worship God.

God is working in us but He requires an effort from us to. Remember the wise and the foolish virgins. God was working in both of them, they were all saved but the foolish virgins worked against God, they fought against the working of God in them. Remember we are at war and the battle is in our minds. We can hinder the working of God in us. We have to be transformed into the image of Christ by the renewing of our minds. It is in our minds, our decisions, that we accept and prove the perfect will of God.

And it involves a change in us. What we were is no good. We must be transformed, changed. We must get rid of the old things. That is the circumcision of the heart. Old ideas, old ways, old feelings, old thoughts, old manners, old lives must all perish with the old man.

Colossians 3:7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of you mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 and put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.

Put of the old man with his deeds. Our old man, the person we were, must be put off with all of our old deeds. When we are baptized we are burying that old man, with all of its sins and all of its vices in water that we may be born again renewed in Christ Jesus. And we have to put on the new man after the image of Christ. Are we the image of Christ? When the world looks at us do they see Jesus Christ, or do they see the old man? Has the world seen a change in us? Are we allowing God to work in us or are we hindering Him?

Moses fought against the Lord. Caught you off guard with that. He was not intentionally fighting God, but by His Egyptian education, by the learning he received in the flesh, he was acting contrary to what God wanted. God was working in him, but his mind was not in tune with God’s word. So he tried to do what he thought was the will of God but in fact he was working contrary to it. It took another 40 years for Moses to get in to the right condition where God could work in him unhindered.

There was a young man in Israel. He was very zealous for the Lord, a Pharisee and a devout Jew of the tribe of Benjamin. He studied under the best teacher that Israel had to offer. He knew the scriptures, the law and the prophets, better than any man in Israel. His whole life was dedicated to the living God of Israel to the point where there was nothing he would not do for God. But even though this man was a predestinated seed of God, he was hindering the working of God in him, that is until God got hold of him.

Galatians 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it.

Paul was a predestinated seed, a chosen vessel of the Lord, an apostle, a prophet and the messenger to the first church age and yet he was hindering the working of God in him. How much more do we? Our thoughts, our ideas, our works, our lives will either hinder God’s working in us or it will complement it. What are our live like? Are we hindering the working of God in us? Attitude says it all. Let’s look at two people who were given the same message. They were both children of God. One hindered the working of God and the other complemented it.

Luke 1:13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. 14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. 15 for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb. 16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. 17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. 18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years? 19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to show thee these glad tidings. 20 And behold, you shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because you believe not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

Zacharias was a man of God, and a preacher too. He was not an unbeliever. But because he could not understand Gabriel’s words, he foolishly rejected them. And because he rejected them the angel gave him a little time of trouble. The angel had to make a little adjustment in Zacharias so that he could come to terms with the message and yield to the working of God in him.

Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

So it is truly our choice. It is your choice right now. Make the right choice. Our attitude will determine how God works in us. We can either accept the Word and yield to the spirit, or we can hinder the working of the Lord by doubting what the word says to us.

Some through the fire and some through the flood, some through the water but all through the blood, some in great sorrow, but God gives a song, in the night season and all the day long. If we are called for eternal life God will have His way with us. If we hinder his working he will still accomplish that which he determines to accomplish, we will just have to suffer a little. He is not punishing us, he is chastising us. Zacharias was not punished, he was chastised. He was given a little spank by God so he would line himself up with God’s will.

It may seem a little rough or scary to think about being chastised of God but the Bible gives us direction.

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives. 7 If ye endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, wherefore all are partakers, then are ye bastards and not sons.

The devil will tell you the opposite. The devil will tell you that God has written you off, that you are being punished and God has left you. That is a lie! That is God dealing with you. That is God working in you. If we do not yield to the working of the Holy Spirit in us willingly of our own accord then God will give us a little spank to wake us up so that we will yield to him. Was Moses being punished when he got sent off into the desert to be a Sheppard for 40 years? No. That was God dealing with him. Was Zacharias being punished with his stroke or whatever it was? No. That was God dealing with him. Was Paul being punished when he was blinded on the road to Damascus? NO. That was God working through and in him. Some through the fire and some through the flood.

But it will come down to our attitude, to how we see ourselves and how we see God.

James 4:6 But he gives more grace. Wherefore he said, God resists the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil and he shall flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Is it coming together? Am I making sense to everyone? God is working in each and every one reading this blog right now. He is doing it by his word and by the incidents in our lives. He is working to transform us into the image of Jesus Christ. He is molding us like clay. He is the potter. And if the clay will not come into shape, then sometimes the potter has to bust it up and start over. But the potter doesn’t throw away the clay, he starts over from scratch with the same clay. Sometimes we get so out of God’s will that he has to bust us up and start from the bottom up. That is what he did to Moses.

Romans 6: 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lust thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Yield yourself to God. You are called for it. One way or another God will accomplish in you the things that He has determined for you. You cannot avoid it. Your name was written in the lamb’s book of life before the foundation of the world and God did not do that by mistake. You fate was determined before the universe was created. What was not determined is how you will get there. You will get there, that is for sure, but you can come the easy way or the hard way, but you will surely come.

Zacharias could have taken the easy way but he did not and it cost him 9 months of not being able to talk. He was still saved. He was still the father of God’s greatest prophet. But he had to go through some fire on his journey.

What about us? What about you? Are we going to yield to God? Eventually we will. Why not take the easy way? God will mold you into the image of Jesus Christ. He has promised to do it and one way or another He will do it. It is really up to us as to which path we take. God only spanks us when we are bad. If we have a stubborn spirit God will break that thing. If we are proud God surely will humble us. If we are Laodicean and lukewarm God will surely set us on fire.

Sin. Sin is unbelief. Unbelief is the only sin. Lying, stealing etc. are attributes of sin. We do them because we do not believe in the first place. Unbelief is sin. Let not sin, unbelief, reign in you mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lust thereof. The old man again. Yielding again. You have two spirits talking to you right now. Which are you going to yield too. The Bible tells us to yield to Christ and not to the lusts of our flesh because the lusts of the flesh work unrighteousness. If we yield ourselves to sin we will reap the wages of unrighteousness. If we yield ourselves to the lusts of the flesh or the things of the world we are hindering the working of God in us. God will warn us, and warn us, and speak to us, and preach to us, and finally he will chastise us. He has given us a way to walk and one way or another we will walk with him.

What is our walk? It is our service to the Lord and our service to the world.

Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in knowledge of God;

Our service unto God is our lives. God is working in us, transforming us into the image of His son through his word, and working in us to both desire and to do His will in our lives. If we walk according to the spirit, then we will be pleasing to God, serving God and serving men in a godly fashion.

2 Corinthians 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to bed the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in table of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

We are written epistles. We are the word of God in flesh today. We are supposed to be. The Bible says that we are supposed to be. Are we? Are people surprised when you tell them you are a Christian? Is it because your life does not match your testimony? Are we pleasing to the Lord?

We have the message of the hour. We have been sent a prophet of God, vindicated by signs, wonders and miracles, who brought out the hidden mysteries of the Bible, restored the lost doctrine from the Bible, and restored the faith of the children to that of the original Pentecostal fathers. We have, for the first time in history, the first time since time began, the whole Bible revealed. Every single word written in this book is now open to us. We have the greatest light that has ever shone on earth today. We have more light than Noah, more than Moses, more than Paul, for the mysteries were sealed up unto this hour.

We have the greatest truth the world has ever known. We have the pillar of fire, not just in a picture on our mantels, but right here amongst us working the same miracles that he has always worked. God is working in us, in our hearts, in our souls, changing us, teaching us, transforming us into his image. Our job is to live that life, to yield to the Holy Spirit and to resist the devil. Our job is to be the Bible to others, to show Jesus Christ in our lives. Our job is to crucify our old man with the desires thereof and to live a new life in Christ Jesus.

You cannot have it both ways. You cannot mix God with the world.

Matthew 9:16 No man puts a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottle: else the bottles break, and the wine runs out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

They did not have glass bottles in those days, they had wine skins. And new wine is still fermenting. It is full of life and bubbling up with life. You put new wine in an old dried up wine skin and the pressure from the bubbles will burst that old skin.

We cannot take a patch of God’s righteousness and patch the holes in the filthy rags of our righteousness. We must do as Elisha and cast off our robes, cast off our self-righteousness and wrap ourselves in the robes of God’s righteousness. We must be justified and sanctified before we can ever be filled with the Holy Spirit and there is no way to put the Holy Spirit into an old dead carnal denominational religion.

You try putting the Holy Spirit into a dead formal denomination and it will bubble up with life and bust its way out. The upper room could not contain the 120 once the Holy Spirit indwelled them and neither will a denomination contain a Christian once God fills them today. The only difference today between a Pentecostal and a catholic is the street address. We must be born again of water and of spirit, and that new birth will set us free from all traditions and dogmas and creeds.

And if we cannot put the Holy Spirit into a religion, how much less can we put it into the world. You cannot patch up an unholy worldly heart with a Holy Spirit. It won’t stick. It is full of power and it will rend the worldly heart in two. You cannot put the Holy Spirit into an old dried up heart. It will bubble up and bust you wide open.

We need a new heart and a new spirit, then God will give us the Holy Spirit. We have to cleanse ourselves, or rather let the Lord God cleanse us, from the things of the world and the things of the flesh and the things of religion. We have to yield to the working of God in us. We have to stop resisting him. He will have his way in the end.

Look at Jonah the prophet. He steadfastly resisted the will of God. God told him to go one way and he went the other, and God sent him a spanking in the form of a storm and a big fish. If Jonah had not resisted the working of God in him then he would have foregone that whole nightmare. And look at Nineveh. When the word of the Lord came to them they accepted it immediately and suffered nothing. They were on the verge of being condemned and destroyed off the face of the earth but when the heard the message of the hour they immediately repented and received it and yielded themselves to it.

Sodom was sent a similar warning but they scoffed at the message. They refused to yield to the word of God and were destroyed of fire.

We hear the message of our hour. This generation is on the verge of destruction by fire. This generation will be like Sodom but worse for Jesus said if Sodom had seen the signs and wonders they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes and be standing today. This generation will not yield to the word of God, to the message of the hour and will most certainly be cleansed by fire.

But God is working in us. God is giving us his word. His spirit is molding us, sculpting us, transforming us into his image. All He requires of us is to yield to him and to resist the devil. All he requires of us is to choose. He is doing the work.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

We are His workmanship. It is God that is working in us. It is God that is changing us. It is God that forgave our sins. It is God that delivered us from bondage. It is God that healed our diseases. It is God that is transforming us and it is God that ordained us to walk in his word before the foundation of the World. And let us leave you with this last word. A word upon which you can meditate for the rest of you time on earth. A promise of God that will not pass away, will not fail and will not change.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Paul says to be confident. Be confident in his promise. Be confident in his workmanship. Has he begun a work in you? He won’t stop until he comes back for you. Be confident in that fact. Yield yourself to him, he is working in you right now. He will be working in you tomorrow. He will be working a good work in you till the rapture comes to take you home. Be confident. It isn’t us working. It is God working in us. We cannot fail for it is not us doing the work it is God himself. God is doing it and he never fails. Be confident in God.

Rejoice oh Christian and shout for God is working a good work in you. The most holy Lord God Jehovah, creator of heaven and earth, is perfecting you with his word. Yield to God and be quick to answer him. Receive of his word and of his spirit. Receive his word, believe his word and obey his word. Cry out to him day and night. Praise his name for it is God himself that is working in you. And He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world. What victory we have in Jesus.

He will not fail.
