The Sin in Eden is quite evident in the Scriptures, but not what most people have been taught.
This will shock, scare, anger, enrage and even bless. This is a very hard word, spiritual meat. This is not milk what I am about to say. Read it to the very end. Read it with a Bible in hand. Pray for revelation from the Lord, for light, for guidance for wisdom before you read it. This will be totally strange to most, but it is absolutely the Bible. Bear with me and read slowly and carefully to the end, prayerfully seeking the truth of the Lord.
The “angels having sex with people” story is a complete lie with NO scriptural basis. This is what the Bible actually says. Take it slow. It seems long but it only covers the high points, so read slowly, Bible in hand, and praying earnestly for revelation from the Holy Spirit.
Equally, the story of eating an apple makes no sense whatsoever, and we shall see in a moment.
Cain was the Serpent’s Seed. So what does this mean?
Notice you find one sex act mentioned in Genesis chapter four, “Adam knew his wife Eve” but two boys are born, “Cain and then again Abel”. One act – two births. Cain and Abel were twins. But this gets even more interesting when we dig a bit.
Notice in Jude the Bible says “Enoch who was seventh from Adam”
But if we look at the lineage of Adam listed in detail in Genesis chapter five we have:
Enoch shows up as sixth. So if we add Cain and Abel, then Enoch becomes 8th. The only way Enoch can be 7th from Adam is if one of the two boys, Cain or Abel, was not Adam’s son. This will seem extreme and even insane to many. But bear with me and I will show you that it is the Bible.
So then we have the scripture:
1 John 3: 12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
Adam was not the “wicked one”, he was the son of God and a Prophet. He was the first person in the Bible to prophesy.
Now we look to Genesis again:
Genesis 3: 14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
So we see that the woman has a seed, which we understand comes down the line to be Jesus Christ, and we also see that the Serpent has a seed. And then we see:
Genesis 4: 25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
Cain was the first born of the twins, yet it says that Cain killed the Seed. Cain was born before Abel yet the Bible attributes the seed to Abel, the younger brother. The “seed” is always accounted to the first born of the father. That was the issue that Jacob had, the birthright belonged to Esau. Esau sold his, but you will not find one Scripture that anywhere even alludes to a transfer between Cain and Abel. This shows that Abel was the seed, that even though he was second born to Eve, he was, and must have been, the first born of Adam. Abel was Adam’s first born son. Therefore, Cain was not Adam’s son at all. He was the serpent’s seed.
Now if eating apples lets people know they are naked, then it is time to hand out apples. I don’t say that as a joke, but to wake you up to the facts. And again we see this by the altars they brought. Cain brought the fruit of the field on his altar, while Abel brought blood of a Lamb. Cain’s church was big, beautiful, wonderful. Abel’s was a dirty rock with a sheep, bleeding and crying out.
The Bible says that Abel, through revelation, brought a more perfect sacrifice than Cain. The sin in Eden, the sin that separated man from the Lord God, was a blood sin, not an apple, else Cain’s altar would have been accepted. Cain’s altar, Cain’s sacrifice, beautiful as it was, was not accepted by the Lord God. He was rejected, reprobate.
Genesis 3: 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
The serpent was not a snake, or a snake with legs, or a lizard of any kind. He was “subtil”, he was wise, he was a “beast of the field”. More exactly, he was the missing link as we call it today. There is a being on every stage of the ladder. It is not evolution, but simply the Lord filling in every position for a complete creation. Yet, there is a huge gap between man and ape. He was so close to human that his seed could take ours; he had right number of Chromosomes, but he was NOT the son of God. Just as a horse and a donkey can bare offspring, but the offspring is sterile because the Chromosome count is off. The serpent had the right Chromosome number, and as such the hybrid offspring was not sterile.
The devil possessed him, incarnated into him. That seems odd but we find in the New Testament that when Legion was delivered, the devils went into a herd of pigs. The serpent was much more advanced than a pig, and in fact he could speak. Not only could he speak, but he was wise and could reason. He reasoned with Eve, and proved to be smarter than her for he successfully convinced her of his lie. And he beguiled, seduced her.
Genesis 3: 13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
The serpent beguiled, seduced Eve. The sin in the garden was sexual, adultery, and worse, bestiality, for the serpent was not human. Eve got pregnant from the serpent, and then went to Adam, and repeated the act and got pregnant again. Two eggs fertilized by two separate men on the same day; one was of Adam, the other was of the serpent.
And that is how they knew they were naked!
Then they tried to cover their sins with plants. They used fig leaves to cover the sin. But the sin they committed was not eating botany life, it was not an apple or any other botany, so botany could not cover it. That is why Cain’s sacrifice was not accepted. He brought, as Adam and Eve tried to bring, botany life to cover the sin. God went and killed lambs to provide the covering for Adam and Eve. The sin in the garden was a blood sin, and it took the shedding of blood to cover the sin.
That is why Jesus Christ had to die on the cross, why his blood had to be shed. The blood of bulls and goats, we are told in Hebrews, does not remove sin, it only covers it. The life in that blood cannot come back on the person. Each year a lamb was brought and killed so that blood would cover the sin. But the sinner went out and sinned again. But when the blood of Jesus was shed, the life in that blood, the Holy Spirit of God, came back on the people. We find the first evidence of that in the beginning of the Book of Acts in the upper room.
Then God cursed the serpent. He cursed the one fellow. He cursed the species. He cursed the offspring. He even cursed the ancestry. He cursed it utterly. The dead serpent bones lying in the ground were even cursed and you won’t find one bone of that missing link anywhere today. You will not find one bone in a snake that in any way resembles it’s original form. The serpent could talk, and snake have neither ears, not vocal cords. He was cursed utterly.
So how did the two seeds mix? We see Cain leaving and heading to an area that is called the Land of Nod after receiving the Mark of the Beast. Now that is a whole series of sermons on its own, so we will leave that for the present time.
We see Adam’s line in one chapter, and Cain with his sister/wife went off to the land, not country, not nation, not town, LAND of Nod, and built a civilization. How did the serpent’s seed get through the flood if Cain left, if the two lines are shown completely separately in the Bible?
Genesis 6: 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
We see Noah’s lineage back to Adam is pure human. So how did the serpent’s seed, the hybrid blood come through? It came through Noah’s wife. The Sons of God, Adam’s line of which Noah was, saw the daughters of men, Cain’s line, and married. Noah married serpent’s seed. Noah’s wife was serpent’s seed. And here is the result.
Genesis 9:22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
Now many Sunday School teachers will tell you that Noah passed out drunk with no clothes on. And yes this indeed happened,but it goes far deeper and far more sinister than simply being seen naked. Here is the revelation of what really happened directly from the Bible. The answer, the revelation is always found in the Scriptures. That is why the Bible says it must be line upon line, precept upon precept, word upon word. One word always interprets the other. This is also why Peter wrote that the word of God is subject to no private interpretation. It is the word that interprets the word, not man.
Leviticus 18:8 The nakedness of thy father’s wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father’s nakedness.
This is speaking in this chapter of various sexual sins. To uncover your father’s wife is to uncover your father’s nakedness, for her nakedness belongs to him. To uncover nakedness is not to see someone without clothes, it is to have sexual relations with them. So to uncover your father’s nakedness, the nakedness of his wife, your mother, is to engage in a sexual sin with her.
Ham didn’t simply stumble upon his dad naked as many would suppose. Ham had sexual relations with his own mother. He uncovered HER nakedness, and thereby uncover his father’s. That is why Noah never cursed Ham, he cursed Ham’s son. Did you not ever wonder why Noah cursed Canaan instead of Ham? Did it not ever seem strange or weird to you?
Genesis 9: 25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
Why did Noah curse Ham’s son Canaan? Because Canaan was the child of Ham, and of Noah’s wife. When Ham uncovered the nakedness of Noah, he was really uncovering the nakedness, having sexual relations, with his own mother, and she got pregnant and bore Canaan.
So Canaan was accursed!
The serpent’s seed was in Noah’s wife, then in Ham, then in Canaan, and now in most people today. It is so intermixed today that Isaac and Rebekah could have twin boys, Jacob and Esau, one the seed of God, one the Serpent’s seed. Hence:
Romans 9:10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Now you see why Cain is not listed in Adam’s line, what really happened in Eden, what the sin in Eden was, and why Jesus told this interesting parable:
Matthew 13: 24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
This is probably completely different than anything you have heard in the past, but it is the Bible. It is perfectly the Scriptures. Do you see who the tares are now? They are the serpent’s seed. God planted his garden in Eden, and placed his seed there, in Adam. But Satan came afterwards and planted the serpent’s seed through Cain. Do you see why they cannot be redeemed? They have no original condition to be redeemed back too. They were not part of the original creation. The serpent’s seed, through Cain, is a hybrid abomination of man and animal that should never have existed. But we needed their existence for the full plan of salvation to be played out. And they cannot be weeded out until the Rapture. They will be with us until the end. And they will be very religious, just like Cain was.
Jesus Christ came to redeem Adam’s race, and every human will be redeemed. Every human! Now you see why so many people will never accept the gospel, why they can be very religious like Cain, yet never be holy. Why the religious leaders of the day murdered Jesus and why he called them “children of their father the devil”.
This came completely out of left field for most. Many did not even read to the end. Many will even curse me for these words, but it is the gospel truth of the Bible. Search it out for yourself prayerfully begging the Lord for revelation and you too shall see it.
Mark 10:50And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
May the Lord God add his blessing to the reading of his Word.
I would like to speak on the topic of “A covering” and bring it down to focus on “The Covering”, “His Covering”.
This sermon deals with types and shadows, with allegories and metaphors. The entire Bible is written that way. Sure the characters existed but there is more to their stories than just their stories. For example, if you read Ruth and only see a gentile girl who married into money, and don’t see the entire plan of salvation under the law of the Kinsmen Redeemer for both Jews and Gentiles played out, then go back and read it again.
Tonight’s scripture is one small line in a very big scripture, but this is one of the most important lines there, and many miss it. The Prophet didn’t miss it, and neither should we.
Not long after that, he was shivering in the cold, one day; he heard a noise. God had provided the Lamb for blind Bartimaeus’ eyes. He came along the street. He said “What’s all this noise?” There’s usually noise where He’s at. Said, “What’s all this noise?” He said, “One, Jesus of Nazareth, passed by.”
He threw down his coat, not looking where it went; he didn’t care then. God had provided a Lamb. He got right to the Lamb. He said, “O Jesus, Thou son of David, have mercy. Have mercy.”
The rich people and those who stood around, to get close to the prophet, to the king; he said, “Oh, be still; He can’t hear you.” He cried that much the more. Some of them said, “The days of miracles is passed. There’s no such a thing as that day.” He cried the louder, “Thou son of David, have mercy on me. Have mercy on me.” God provided the Lamb.
Bartimaeus had a beggar’s coat on. He was wrapped in it. But when it came time to meet Jesus, he threw the coat off. He knew that covering was faulty, it was insufficient to meet Christ.
What covering are we coming to Christ with today? What covering are we bringing to the judgement? A beggar’s robe? A creed? A denomination? A tradition?
A Blasphemous Name?
Matthew 22: 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
He was called to the supper. He came to the supper. But he did not have the wedding garment on. He was a foolish virgin! No OIL! He came with his testimony, but he only had a borrowed spark. He had the wrong covering! He was covered with a tradition, a doctrine, a mental understanding.
It is not enough to believe the message, we must be covered by it.
We all fashion a covering. That is what religion is, a covering. Adam and Eve did it.
Genesis 3: 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Adam and Eve, upon realizing their condition, upon realizing that they were naked, immediately formed a covering for themselves. Yet when the Lord came, they hid in the forest because when faced with the holiness of God, their best covering was insufficient, and they knew it. They had a covering. They were covered. But it was the wrong covering!
Mark 5: 15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
Legion, when possessed of the devil, was naked. He was insane. You know, ask anyone who has spent any time in poor country that cannot afford healthcare like we have here, what is the first thing people do when they go completely insane? They will tell you that they get naked. When people go insane with bush fever, even in winter, they take off their clothes. Why are so many people running around half naked, skirts so short they could pass as belts, less clothes on the street than the average Christian wears to bed?
THEY ARE INSANE!
The Prophet warned us of it. Insanity is sweeping the world in these last days.
Revelation 3: 14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Naked! The Laodicea Church is Naked! That means she has lost her mind. This last church age has gone nuts with the world. But for the Church there is hope. For the Church there is the option to buy White Raiment! Get a wedding garment! Get the Holy Covering.
“Oh, I stand at the door and knock.” [Brother Branham knocks on pulpit—Ed.] That’s the age He would stand and knock. “If you’ll just open and let Me come in and take control, I’ll clothe you with pure linen.” Oh, the righteousness of the Holy Spirit, “I’ll clothe you. I’ll take all the shame away from you. I’ll put your name in the Lamb’s Book of Life. I’ll give you Eternal Life.” Oh, you’ll be hated by the world, certainly. “All that live godly in Christ Jesus,” says the Bible, “shall suffer persecutions. I’ll make you what you ought to be.”
Now the Prophet here says that the Pure White Linen is the Righteousness of the Holy Spirit.
Revelation 19: 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
The Bible says that the linen is the righteousness of the Saints, the Prophet said it is the righteousness of the Holy Spirit. Do they disagree?
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
The righteousness of the Saints IS the Righteousness of the Holy Spirit for when we accept him, he wraps us in the Robes of HIS Righteousness. That is how we can stand before him.
We are JUSTIFIED by the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ!
When God looks upon us, he sees the righteousness of Jesus!
Adam could not stand before him. The Prophets could not stand before him. The Cherubims cannot stand before him; they cover their feet with their wings.
But WE can stand before him for we have THE COVERING!
If we are under the Blood Covenant of the Lord Jesus Christ. If we have repented and been baptized in full immersion in water in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and been filled with the Holy Spirit, then we have THE COVERING.
Too many miss it. They miss it. They go part way.
Laodicea is BLIND.
Laodicea is NAKED!
They don’t have the covering. They think they do, but they don’t.
Many still have fig leaves, a man-made religion.
If any man’s righteousness was righteous enough for the Lord, if anyone could ever gain salvation through works, through self righteousness, then the Lord Jesus Christ died in vain.
Isaiah 64: 6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Now, notice in Elijah. Then after he threw his robe on him and tried it on him… In other words, Elijah the prophet, who had the mantle of God on his shoulders, he came down and laid it across Elisha, the farmer, to see if it would fit him. And it taken about ten years to get altered to fit that mantle. You know, God usually puts us in the shop and trims us up. Now, He didn’t alter His robe to fit Elisha; He altered Elisha to fit the robe. And that’s what He does today. He alters us to fit the robe, not the robe to fit us. Sometimes we want to make the robe fit us. But we can’t do that. You’ve got to let—be altered yourself for the robe. It’s God’s robe and He made it perfect. And we’ve got… He’s got to bring us into that realm to make the robe fit us.
So we can’t be perfect ourself; we know we can’t. There’s no way for us to be, and yet He said for us to be. So, but what He did, He made appropriation for us, the Lord Jesus Christ and His righteousness. That’s where the perfection comes of ignoring our own holiness, of which we have none, and our own thoughts which ought not to be, but we rest solemnly upon the finished work of the Lord Jesus. God sent Him to the earth, and it was in Him that we rest.
Bling Bartimaeus realized that his righteousness was a filthy rag and threw it away to go meet Jesus. Have we done the same?
2 Kings 2: 11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
Elisha what are you wearing?
He had to take of his own robe, and destroy it before he could put on Elijah’s mantle. It won’t fit over top. You cannot mix the two!
In order to receive the Holy Spirit we must first cast off our own spirit, our own righteousness must DIE. As long was we are holding onto any of it, one thread of it, we are an abomination to God.
Leviticus 19: 19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
Do not mingle seed in the field. Do not preach the Word and Dogmas. Do not mix the Message with Creeds. Do not mix the righteousness of Christ, with the righteousness of man. We are God’s sheep, but our own natural covering, our wool, our righteousness, is filthy rags before him. We must be covered by LINEN, the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit!
Ezekiel 44: 17 And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.
No wool shall come upon them, not even a fiber of our own righteousness, shall be tolerated.
We must minister the Word of God, All the Word and nothing but the Word, and we must bring in by the Holy Spirit. It don’t matter how smart you are, how educated, where you went to school, who your family is, if it is of you, then it is wool, and it is not allowed.
The wedding garment is pure linen, not wool. Show up with wool and we will be tossed out.
1 Peter 2: 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
It is not just for the ministers, not just for the pulpit. Every single one of you is part of the Royal Priesthood. You are a Holy Nation. You are to be dressed in Pure Linen alone!
You are to wear the wedding garment. And you cannot put it on over your own garments. We have to tear off the old garment first. We have to destroy it, die to it. Our righteousness. Our wisdom. Our culture. Our heritage. Our traditions. Our religions.
ALL MUST GO! They are all of the world.
John 14: 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
We cannot put on the wedding garment while we are wearing anything of the world. As long as that old wool is on us, the wedding garment, the pure linen, will not fit.
Matthew 9: 16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
We cannot merely patch our filthy rags with patches of holiness. It won’t work. It will all fall apart. And many try to do this. They try to discipline themselves to righteousness and holiness. They quit this and quit that hoping to become holy.
Patches! They will be destroyed.
Rip it all off. Lay yourself bare that the Lord God may cloth you. Do as Elisha, to as Bartimaeus, cast off your old cloaks, cast off the fig leaves of doctrines and religion, and accept the fullness of Christ.
Deuteronomy 22: 5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.
Now there is a garment that pertains to a man, and a garment that pertains to a woman. In the natural, through the message, we have come to know that this refers to pants and skirts and the like. Cross dressing, transvestites are an abomination to God. And abomination is something so rotten, so putrid, so disgusting that its stink makes you physically ill so that you vomit.
If a man wears frilly, girly clothes, or if a woman wears pants or other masculine attire, those people are abominations to God. A woman who wears pants is a transvestite.
Any woman who dresses in men’s attire, who wears an article of clothes that pertains to a man is an abomination unto God!
But there is a spiritual side to this, and it is actually the spiritual side that produced the physical. For every type physical there must first be a type spiritual.
We are, as a church, the Bride, the woman. Christ is the groom, the man. Now watch closely.
Exodus 28: 1And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons. 2 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.3 And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.4 And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.5 And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen.6 And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.7 It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined together.8 And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
We’ll stop there. It goes on for quite a bit but this should give us the understanding. Aaron was the high priest. Jesus is the High Priest after the Order of Melchesidek as we are told in Hebrews. Notice the attire of the high priest, the clothing pertaining to him. Notice the specific colours, the precious stones, the gold. Read the whole thing when you get home.
Note previous the clothing pertaining to the Bride, pure white linen. That is all it says of us. Pure Linen. I am curious, has anybody caught it yet?
Watch. Turn to it in your Bibles so that you do not miss it.
Revelation 17: 1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: 2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
She is wearing the attire of the groom! Purple. Blue. Scarlet. Gold. Precious stones. She is a false bride wearing articles of clothing pertaining to a man. She is an abomination unto God, and the mother of it.
Every single religion, every organization, every denomination, every group, that turns from the headship of Christ to the headship of man is a false bride, a harlot, an abomination unto God. They have blasphemous names! Their very name is an abomination unto God.
Vicarius Fillii Dei! In Place of God! Sitting in the temple of God showing himself to be God. The very antichrist seat is Rome! A false bride, a harlot wearing the attire of the high priest!
They are spiritual transvestites! Spiritual Adulterers! Spiritual prostitutes!
And we also have the false garments in this day too. False garments and polluted garments.
Matthew 23:1Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
We can easily be like this if we are not careful. We can quickly get a bit of pride. Our own self righteousness can pop up. A long woolen robe of self righteousness can grow on us based on some works, on our knowledge of doctrines etc. Pride. It is one thing to honour a minister, it is another when he starts honouring himself.
You see it on social media far too often these days. Pastor so and so. Prophet such and such. William Branham refused to take any other title than BROTHER. If the Prophet Messenger insisted on being called Brother, what spirit is making these men want to be called “Rabbi Rabbi” in total contravention to the Word of God. We have a Pastor. That is his position. But his title is Brother. What’s wrong with these other guys?
Beware the leaven of the Pharisees!
Don’t wear a false robe!
Jude 1: 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Garments spotted with flesh. To see this we have to go back to the Old Testament again.
Leviticus 13: 47 The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it be a woollen garment, or a linen garment;48 Whether it be in the warp, or woof; of linen, or of woollen; whether in a skin, or in any thing made of skin;49 And if the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a plague of leprosy, and shall be shewed unto the priest:50 And the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up it that hath the plague seven days:51 And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in a skin, or in any work that is made of skin; the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean.52 He shall therefore burn that garment, whether warp or woof, in woollen or in linen, or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire.
Pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted with flesh. Do you see it? Leprosy, from a spiritual perspective, types sin! Our natural garments, our own coverings, are stained with our own sin. When we bring our own righteousness to Christ the High Priest, according to the Word of God he must command it to be burned for it is spotted with leprosy. If we are in those garments, we too shall be burned!
Genesis 35: 2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
Jacob was commanded to change garments. We cannot go unto the Lord in sin spotted garments of false gods. Put all unrighteousness away. Die unto self. Our own righteousness, our religion, our traditions, our cultures, our creeds, our denominations are ALL sin spotted, filthy dirty leprosy rages before the Lord. We cannot go unto him until we strip them off of us.
Revelation 3: 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
If there are those who have not defiled their garments, then there are those who have. Which means it can be defiled. We can defile ourselves before the Lord, even after we have been washed.
We defile it through sin.
Now the original covering was not linen. Adam and Eve made a covering of fig leaves which the Lord God replaced. That was Adam’s self righteousness, but as we read, it did not stand up. But the Lord did not replace it with Linen. He replaced it with flesh.
They had sinned so the Lord gave them a covering, a covering of flesh and blood. He shed innocent blood for them. But this covering was a temporary one, designed to show something better to come. It was a type of Christ.
The animal was the lamb. It was a shadow of things to come. It was replaced. The Wool and the Linen were not together; the Linen replaced the Wool. Christ as the high priest never went in with the blood of a sheep, but with his own blood he went in once for all.
The Lord God did not come veiled in Linen, he came veiled in flesh. The holiest of holies in the temple had a veil of flesh as well to show that the way into the presence of God was through flesh. Adam and Eve were given a covering of flesh to show that God would come in flesh to cover them. The flesh was bloody because the sin came through the blood and the Lord God would have to spill his own blood to redeem them back. It took blood to redeem a sin of the blood.
But once the Lord was murdered on the cross, his blood was spilled, the veil of his flesh was torn, then the veil of flesh in the temple was rent from top to bottom, just as Elisha rent his own cloak. The way into the Holiest of Holies, into the presence of the Living God was made manifest. The body of Jesus, the broken and bloody flesh, the Lamb of God, was wrapped in burial cloth, LINEN!
Matthew 27: 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
Jesus, the Groom, was buried in fine Linen that was stained with his blood. He lived in flesh, died in flesh, but the flesh was rent, and he was placed in Fine Linen.
John 20: 5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
The Linen was the sign to Peter, to the Apostles. There was no more flesh, but Linen. Death and RESSURECTION!
The complete atonement had been made and blood stained white linen was left as a token of the Resurrection.
That Linen is our Righteousness because it was obtained through the suffering, bleeding, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ!
He bore our sins. He bore our sickness. He bore our pain. He bore our iniquities. He bore our death. He bore them in his flesh. His own blood paid the debt and redeemed us.
And when he had died and returned, he did not leave his flesh, the left the Fine Linen!
HIS OWN BURIAL CLOTHES ARE OUT RIGHTEOUSNESS!
Exodus 29: 20 Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.21 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.
The burial garments of Christ were stained with his blood. Stained with his blood from the crown of thorns, his nail scarred hands, his feet and his pierced side. Aaron’s right ear, his right thumb, his right toe, and splattered all around!
A perfect type! Hidden in simplicity.
The sacrifice in the Levitical Priesthood was to show Christ. And it did. The garments they wore typed the burial garment of the Lord Jesus Christ. Notice it was not just the High Priest, but his sons as well. We, as the sons and daughters of God, are sprinkled with the self same blood!
The burial robe of Jesus was stained with his blood, and Aaron’s were stained with blood to show the crucifixion.
Stained by his blood, but in reality the stain of sin on the garment was washed in his blood. He bore our sins and they were buried with him in that garment. His holy blood washed our sins out of that garment.
The burial garments of the Lord Jesus Christ are the Elijah Cloak that came down to the Bride! Elisha got twice the anointing of Elijah, and the Bride got “greater works than this shall ye do”.
Jesus’ burial garments are our second hand robe!
Revelation 7: 9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Their fine linen robes were washed in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ!
The burial garments of the Groom are the Wedding Dress of the Bride!
I Challenge the world to find a better, more righteous, more holy covering that that.
What has any religion, any denomination, any philosophy got that can compete with that?
I challenge the entire world in the name of Jesus Christ to compare your self-righteousness, your traditions, your creeds, your dogmas to that!
The Lord Jesus Christ never fails. His word is eternal. He is the same divine healer today that he was yesterday.
The Inception of the Infection
I don’t know how it happened. It started as a sore spot. It felt like a mild burn. I first thought that maybe I had scalded it when I was getting the bath ready for the kids. But it wasn’t a burn, it was an infection along the nail bed of my left ring finger.
At first the infection seemed mild; a small blister. There was slight discomfort but it did not look like a problem. I figured it would go away after a day or two. I had to go out of town for a trade show. At the show I banged the finger a few times while setting up and taking down the equipment. The infection was bruised and grew worse.
After a few days it encompassed half of the top of the finger and had worked its way into the nail bed. I soaked it as you would think to and applied a bread poultice. The infection exploded out the side.
Then it got worse again so I applied another poultice. And again the infection expoded.
All the while people kept preaching fear to me. They were telling me that I was going to lose my finger. They said I would get blood poison and die. Someone even went so far as to offer me their prescription of antibiotics that a doctor had given them earlier for something else. Instead of listening to the council of man, I took the council of God. I knew that the moment I visited a doctor, that I took the first pill, any healing would automatically be attributed to that and the Lord would be ignored.
The Cure: Divine Healing from Jesus Christ
I turned it over to the Lord. The infection went away. The old dead skin sloughed off and fresh new pink skin was left in place.
Jesus told us that healing is the bread of the children of God. We are the Bride of Christ if we have the Holy Spirit. If you don’t have the Holy Spirit, if you are not born again, if the Lord Jesus is not manifesting his holy word in your life in supernatural signs, wonders and miracles, then simply follow the prescription in the Bible in Acts 2:38-39 and you will receive the Holy Spirit and scriptures like James 5: 14-16 will be manifest in your life, as it was in mine.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever. His word cannot fail. Just trust in him no matter what the world tells you. Ignore anything contrary to the Word of God. If you trust in him with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul, you shall experience the resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 5: 11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink: that continue until night, till wine inflame them! 12 And the harp, and the viol, the babret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the lord, neither consider the operation of his hands. 13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. 14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
What a word this is! I was hoping for a shorter word for this evening but you could preach a decade on this. It is hard to know where to start but I am going to try to keep it short. There are so many ideas here. But I see the central theme for us this evening as being the 13th verse. “Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.”
Notice here that God does not say the people, but “MY people” are gone into captivity. MY people! Not the world, not the denominations, not muslims or hindus, MY PEOPLE! The people of God, the church, the called out ones, are gone into captivity. We are supposed to be free. Jesus said the truth shall set us free. We have the word, and we have the message and yet Isaiah says we are being taken captive. How can this be? How can the church of the living God be taken captive in this day when we have the greatest light that has ever been? For the first time in history we not only have the entire Bible, but we have the entire Bible revealed. Even the Apostles didn’t have it. Luther didn’t have it. Wesley didn’t have it but we have it and today we also have captivity.
You might bed tempted to say “wait a minute, Isaiah is taking about his time”. The Bible says by two or three witnesses let all things be established.
Revelation 13: 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10 he that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
Is this Isaiah’s time? This is here and now. This is our age. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity. Who is leading into captivity? Who is leading the saints into captivity? The preachers! Preaching off the word and preaching a second hand gospel and preaching their own dogmas. They are leading the children of God into captivity. Look at our scripture.
11Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink: that continue until night, till wine inflame them!
He is not talking about drunks here. This isn’t alcoholism. He is talking about a religious spirit, a religious fervor. They rise early with a religious fervor, they are full of religious emotion to the point where they become intoxicated and inflamed with it. Inflamed by it. Set on fire. Excited! They dance all over the stage, jump up and down and shout and scream from the pulpit. And the people in the benches are even worse. They put on a big show with lots of emotion. Church has become a Broadway musical these days. They get charged up and charge up the people and everyone is jumping and dancing and shouting “Amen!” to every word and not even paying attention to check what is being said.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you; whose judgment now of a long time lingerth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
There is your third witness. They with feigned words and fair speeches will lead into captivity. They will preach up a storm. There will be a huge emotional rush through the people. And they are doing it for money. Do you know how much they are making? Brother Branham refused to drive a Cadillac because he felt that he should not be driving a better car than the average man, and the cars they drive today put a Cadillac to shame. A brand new Cady would be a down payment for some of the cars, and jet airplanes, owned by preachers today. They have a religious spirit and the people sitting and listening will catch the same spirit and be taken captive by it. It is a very dangerous thing.
12And the harp, and the viol, the babret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the lord, neither consider the operation of his hands.
The churches will have the best music programs, the best buildings, the most beautiful architecture, the most professional sound system, the most wonderful organization, but they also will “not regard the word of the Lord not consider the operation of his hands”. Quite a thought that such a big beautiful church who claims to follow the message and believe the word would be so far off from it as to not even consider it nor regard it. How can this be?
Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 Teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
There you have it. Religious hypocrisy! We can sing, and we can have the best orchestra filled with university graduated musicians. We can praise, and we can pray, and we can worship, and we can call out in Jesus name. We can read the Bible, and we can quote the prophet and put his picture up all over our churches and homes, but if we disregard the Revealed Word of God in favour of a doctrine of man, no matter how good it sounds, how logical it is, then all of our worship is in vain. It all starts at the pulpit.
We have lots of preachers but very few Word preachers. Jesus said it would be this way. He said the harvest is great and the labourers are few. Pray for labourers! Pray that the Lord God would call more Spirit filled men to the field who will actually consider the operations of God, and regard the works of the Lord, and not care about the money or the popularity. Pray for men who know God and have intimate knowledge of his ways and his Word. How can I introduce you to someone who I do not know myself? We need Holy Spirit filled, God sent, anointed preachers. We have too many religious men and not enough Godly men. It has always been that way. One Elijah to 450 prophets of Baal. One Elisha to a whole host of worldly prophets. One Micah to 400 prophets with lying spirits.
It is the even worse today!
And these false anointed preachers are taking the people captive by the millions. Good people, children of God are being taken captive by these religious spirits in religious preachers. And you might ask why is it that they are able to take the children of God captive? Good question.
13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
Knowledge! The people are gone into captivity “because they have no knowledge”. Surprised? No knowledge. That is God’s own words from the mouth of his holy anointed, spirit filled prophet, not mine. God says the people, the message people, the message preachers, have no knowledge. As I pointed out earlier, we have both the Bible in print and the Message that reveals the Bible, both in print and on tape, and we hear it over and over and can quote from 3,000 hours of preaching by a vindicated prophet of God, and the Lord God says we have no knowledge.
The message believers today have no knowledge!
Knowledge of God does not come with Bible reading. Knowledge of God does not come with church going. Knowledge of God does not come with message listening. You do not get knowledge of God by pressing the play button. That might rub some wrong but just wait a moment, bear with me, and you will see. Knowledge of God does not come with singing or playing an instrument. If any of those would bring you knowledge of God then Saul of Tarsus would have known God personally for he was the most educated theologian in all of Israel. Yet when Saul came face to face with the Lord Jesus in the pillar of fire, he realized that he did not know anything of God whatsoever.
Knowledge of God comes only from a personal experience with God!
Saul learned more of the Lord God in those three or four minutes in front of that pillar of fire than in many years of Bible School and Seminary. Moses learned more of God in a few moments with a burning bush than in 80 years of life and 40 years of the best education that the world had to offer. In order to know God, to have knowledge of who and what the Lord God is, we have to meet God personally. Some will point quite accurately to the fact that the prophet directed us not to preach until we have seen God personally. Amen! But if you look to the message he went even further to say that you are not even a Christian until you have met God personally. And if we have not met him then how can we know him and if we do not know him, and have no knowledge of him, then we will be taken into captivity.
Our scripture goes on to say that the honorable men are famished. Starved! They are not being fed. The preachers are preaching, the singers are singing and the righteous are starving for the Word of God. How can this be brothers and sisters?
Quoting another preacher, even a vindicated prophet, will never feed a true child of God. An eagle needs fresh meat, not left-overs chewed out from another man’s sermons. Brother Branham was a Word Prophet and as a Word Prophet he pointed us back to the Word of God alone. Every Word preacher will point you back to the Word of God alone as well. If the preacher has the same spirit as the prophet did, then he will preach the same way as the prophet did. The prophet preached from the Word.
Not only do the honorable suffer, but it says that the multitude is dried up with thirst. Thirst for the water of the spirit and a parched thirst for the moving of the spirit. There is a famine of hearing the Word of God and a thirst for the spirit that is not being met in the churches today. Remember the foolish virgins have no oil. The Laodicean church has no oil, only the Bride does. The church has no oil because they have no knowledge of God. And they have no knowledge of God because they have not met God. And they have not met God because they are not being told to seek him, and not being led to him. Right back to the pulpit again!
2 Timothy 2: 24And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; If God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Straight from the pulpit it comes. We must not fight and argue but teach the truth for that will lead men to repentance, and by repenting they will meet God and He shall recover them from the snare of the devil, the religious spirit, that takes them captive at will. If the people are not told, then the people will not know. The watchman is responsible to the people to warn of the enemy.
For months every time I opened the Bible, any Bible, it always turned to the same spot, and every time I read it, it spoke loudly to me.
Ezekiel 13:1And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the Lord; 3 Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! 4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. 5 They have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. 6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The Lord saith: and the Lord hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. 7 Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The Lord Saith it; albeit I have not spoken? 8 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you saith the Lord God. 9And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord God.
Foolish teachers, ministers of any kind really, following their own spirit. They don’t stand in the breach. They are not sent of the Lord. they divine lies by preaching doctrines of men. They are taking the children of God captive by religion. These are not prophets of Baal that the Lord God is addressing here, these are prophets of spiritual Israel. These are not the denominations, these are the message preachers of today. Certainly there are good message preachers but this is not addressing them. This is quite accurately aimed at a select group of men that were not sent by God, but went according to their own ideas preaching for gain. And when these men get hold of a pulpit they will build big groups; huge groups, that have lots of religion, lots of emotion, but are starving for the Word and the Spirit of God.
We are just a little family here today but we desperately need to know this. If we do not come to know the Lord God personally through an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, then we will be taken captive by a religious spirit. If we are in the wrong place, then we will be starved for the word, parched for the spirit, and surrounded by religious pomp and celebration. The Bible said that we are to offer up the sacrifice of praise, but if that sacrifice is not washed then it is an abomination to God. Religious pomp and celebration, no matter how skilled or sweet to the ear, if it is not sanctified by the Holy Spirit of God, it is an abomination unto him.
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
There is our answer. Jesus! He alone can set us free. He alone can give us liberty. He alone can free us from the spirits that threaten to take us captive. And he does it personally, not by creed, not by dogmas, not by church going, but by meeting him personally and getting to know him personally. We must regard the work of the Lord. We must consider his operations. God is alive and well. He is a miracle God. He is the same yesterday today and forever. Everything that is written in the Bible about him is just as true today as it was the day it was written.
Don’t get caught up in emotion. Don’t get caught up in a big show. Don’t get distracted by large crowds. Do not let a fancy building catch your eye. Get caught up in the spirit of God. The songs and the worship and the celebration are all important and even vital, but without the Spirit of God, it is dead. Where are the gifts? Where are the miracles? God is a miracle God. We point to the signs, wonders and miracles in Brother Branham’s ministry, but where are they in our lives? In Jesus’ day they pointed to Moses. In our day they point to Brother Branham. Let us look instead to Jesus. Let’s be like Gideon, the mighty man of valour, let’s seek out God personally and seek out his moving in our lives personally.
God is here right now to meet us. His spirit, the pillar of fire, is right there in the room with you at this very moment. He is waiting to hear from you, waiting for your invitation. He is waiting for you to regard His works and to consider His operations. Let’s all come together in one accord to consider His operations. Let’s all agree to regard His works. And not the works and operations of yesterday, but God’s works today in our lives, in our midst, right there in that room at the moment you are reading this.
The Bible says that the Lord is closer to you than your own breath. He is right there with you. The pillar of fire is right before you. Can you feel him? He is there filling the room. Seek him! Cry out to him! Reach out to him!
We often talk about “God”. But what is God? The Word god means and object of worship, and as such there are many, many gods. For some people their car is a god, their wife is a god, the president of the United States is a god. Who is our god? Who, or what, is your god?
The Bible talks of the Lord God Jehovah. It talks of the great creator, the life giver, the healer, the redeemer the one true God and eternal life. It also speaks of another god. It speaks of another object of worship. This god, however, is a deceitful, horrible, lying, murdering, evil god. It is the god of this world and his name is Lucifer. The devil is the god of this world? He absolutely is for a god is an object of worship and the devil is worshipped by the entire world. Many will be very angry at me at this point, but if you sit back and search the scriptures with me I believe I can show you that what I say is true.
2 Corinthians 4: 3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
May the Lord God add his blessing to the reading of the Word.
As a note here, the word “world” in Scriptures is translated from the Greek word “cosmos” which means society, culture, mores and norms. It does not mean earth.
The Bible is written in incredible simplicity. It is written to be understood by all. God does not require an education, or great intellect to understand his word. He requires only that you desire to know, believe and follow the truth. But at the same time, the Bible is a great mystery that cannot be figured out by the smartest of men. The greatest scholars can look into the original transcripts, with tremendous knowledge of Greek, and Latin and Hebrew, and search the scriptures day and night, and take notes and confer with others and in the end know nothing. The most learned and trained theologians of today all disagree with each other and yet claim to be highly educated and experienced experts with decades of study.
Paul was the most educated man in Israel in his day. He was known as Saul of Tarsus. He was schooled by the greatest Bible teacher in Israel. He knew the law and the prophets by heart. He knew every prophecy of the Messiah and yet he did not recognize him when he came. He knew exactly what the scriptures said about the Messiah, and he knew all the prophecies concerning the Church and yet when he saw the Church in action living out those prophesies he condemned them to die as ungodly heretics.
The holy Apostles, called before the foundation of the world to be the first messengers of the gospel, sat under the teaching of John the Baptist and missed that he was Elijah for their day as prophesied by Malachi chapter 3. These were not just the average guys on the street, they were the twelve Holy Apostles. They had knowledge of the Word. They witnessed John’s ministry. They witnessed Jesus ministry even seeing John baptize Jesus. They heard John say “I am the voice of one calling out in the wilderness”. They heard John say “behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world”. They came to Jesus with the word, confused. Let us take the scripture on it:
Matthew 17: 10 And his disciples asked him, saying, why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? 11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12But I say unto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. 13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
John preached to them as the messenger sent before the Lord to show his coming, and they knew him not. Jesus said that John was more than a prophet and they could not even recognize that he was a prophet. The scribes, the theologians of the day, knowing full well the scriptures and quoting it to the people, pointed to the coming of Elijah and totally missed his appearance. They met him. They spoke to him. He quoted to them the scripture that vindicated his ministry. They were completely blind and oblivious to it. Just think about that and what it means for us.
Does it sound crazy? Not only did they miss the Elijah ministry of their day, but God himself was standing there in front of them in flesh, fulfilling each and every prophecy of the Messiah recorded in the scriptures, fulfilling each and every prophecy that they were pointing to and quoting, and they had no idea who he was. The very God of heaven, Jehovah in flesh, was performing miracle after miracle after miracle right in front of them and they were totally blind to it. Sounds crazy to us doesn’t it? Not only was the world blind to the fact that Jesus was the Messiah, they went so far as to call him the devil and then murder him. The greatest, smartest, most educated theologians and Bible scholars were completely blinded to the vindication of the very scriptures they memorized and quoted daily.
But we also had a prophet in our day who had the manifestation of God in his ministry even to the raising of the dead and speaking into existence. He was a Word Prophet who completely fulfilled the scriptural prophesy of his ministry and the whole world missed it. It wasn’t just the secular world who missed it. The Pentecostal people, those that he was sent to, missed it. Millions of people sat in his ministry all over the planet. The ministries of men like Oral Roberts and Billy Graham came out from this man’s ministry. There are over 1,100 of his sermons on tape and nearly every one has a healing line where signs, wonders and miracles are recorded. Yet they all, all but a select few, missed it completely.
If William Branham was not the Elijah of Malachi 4:5-6, then who was? Answer me that.
The Bible says he must have already come, so if it was not William Marion Branham who fulfilled that prophecy then who was it? The Bible is clear. Malachi 4: 5-6 is clear. Zechariah 14 is clear. Revelation 10:7 is clear. Amos 3:7 that God would do nothing until he reveals it to his servant the prophet is clear. The Bible clearly tells us that we were to be sent a prophet in our age with the same ministry and spirit as Elijah to reveal the hidden mysteries and restore us back to the Word of God. Let’s read it.
Malachi 4: 5Behold , I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: 6 and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
Elijah has to come before the “great and dreadful Day of the Lord”? The day of Jesus on earth was not dreadful. Jesus on earth was mercy. Jesus ministry on earth was salvation, healing and deliverance. It was the atonement, not the judgement. So then what is the “great and dreadful Day of the Lord?”
Zechariah 14: 1 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and they spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the woman ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 and ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. 6 and it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: in it shall come to pas that at evening time it shall be light.
This is the judgment day, the return of Christ “with the saints”. And before that can happen Elijah must come to restore the Bride. Before Israel can be encompassed by all nations, Elijah must have come. Israel is encompassed by all nations today. The whole world is building up against them, blaming them for every evil on the planet. The world is preparing to go to war against God’s people Israel. The Lord is gathering the nations together so that he can judge them at once.
Elijah comes again the fifth time with Moses to Israel right away, and Israel is encompassed about right now, so the fourth manifestation of the ministry of the prophet Elijah must have already come. Somewhere at sometime in our recent past there must have been a man, with a prophetic ministry, with a vindicate message from God. There is no arguing that simple fact. Elijah has come.
The Mystery of God
Revelation 10:7But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
What is the Mystery of God? There are many mysteries in the Bible. There are many things that God told through his prophets that he kept in symbolic form, but told the prophets it would be sealed up till the end times. For example, there are Daniel’s 70 weeks. There are the Seven Seals. There are the Seven Church Ages. There is the Mark of the Beast, the great whore of Babylon, the identity of the Antichrist etc etc. These are all great Mysteries. God gave us dozens of prophecies that he told his prophets to seal up to the end of the age. They are now all revealed. Every word in this Bible is now revealed for us!
So who was it? Who was Elijah? According to the Bible, and the events happening in the world, Elijah must have already come. Elijah must have fulfilled his ministry here on earth in our midst. Did you miss the Elijah of your day as the holy Apostles did in theirs? Do you know who Elijah was?
The world always misses it. They missed Noah. They missed Moses. They missed Elijah. They missed Jesus. They missed Luther. They missed Wesley, they missed Azuza street. And they are missing Jesus Christ even to this day. They are pointing to Jesus Christ in the scripture, and failing to recognize him fulfilling that same scripture today before them. Man is always pointing to what God did, talking about what God will do, and completely ignoring what God is doing right in front of them. Amen?
When Jesus was on earth in flesh, the religious people kept pointing back to Abraham and Moses. When the very God of Abraham and Moses, the great I AM, the pillar of fire, Elohim, Melchisedec, was standing right before them in the flesh and they could not see who he was. Do you see God this morning? Or do you only see him yesterday? Do you see a current Jesus Christ or a historic one?
The Message of the Hour
If there was a messenger, as the Bible shows us clearly that there was, then that messenger must have had a message. Each messenger throughout time has had a message. And the message that they brought for for their specific hour. Noah’s message of rain and a flood was specifically for the people of his day, and is of no direct use for any other day. Yes we learn from it, but we cannot act directly on it.
When God sends a messenger, he sends them with the Message of the Hour. The Message of the Hour in Noah’s day was rain, flood and judgement. The Message of the Hour in Lot’s day was fire and judgement. The Message of the Hour in John the Baptist’s day was salvation and the coming of the Lord. Martin Luther brought the message of Justification. John Wesley was sent to us with the message of Sanctification.
In each age a messenger is sent. That messenger is sent with the Message of the Hour. All who receive the Message of the Hour are the Bride of Jesus Christ for that day.
We sit back as “message people” in our vanity and think we got it all figured out. We think we got the Message of the Hour, so we think. We believe we had a prophet, and so we did. We look down on the denominations because they miss it. And yet we tend to be just as blind as they are or worse!
Where is God today?
How often do you hear preaching about what God did in the prophet’s ministry as though it were happening today? Yes the lord worked many miracles, signs and wonders through his ministry. There is not denying it. But, that was over 50 years ago! What is God doing today? Yes he raised the dead 50 years ago, yes he healed the sick 50 years ago, but what is God doing today in our lives, in our midst? What did the Lord do in your life today? Are we missing it? Are we pointing back to yesterday and missing today? Is our testimony about the power of God relegated to stories of God’s moving in the prophet’s ministry? Have we any signs wonders and miracles today?
“You cannot warm a man with a picture of a fire”. William Branham told us that. We like to quote him. We even like to quote that quote, then we act totally contrary to it. You got to have the real thing! You cannot save a man with a historical God. If Jesus Christ cannot do the very same signs, wonders and miracles, right here and right now that is written of him in the Bible, then he is useless to us. But he is the same yesterday, today and forever. And every single thing written of him in the Bible is just as true today as the day it was written.
He was the healer then. He is the healer now. He was the saviour then. He is the saviour this morning. He was the truth, the life and the way, the bright morning star, the lily of the valley, the great I AM, the pillar of fire, and he is exactly those things right here, right now. Are we seeing it?
We can only understand the scriptures through revelation of the spirit of God. You will never figure it out. I will never figure it out. We will never study our way into heaven. You will never learn salvation. It comes purely and only by revelation. If we do not seek revelation on the word of God, and we do not wait for that revelation, then we will never understand the word of God. If we do not wait on God for an answer we will never know what the Bible is telling us. It will look like complete contradiction to us.
How can the scripture on one hand tell us that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man, and in another scripture tell us that it is the Holy Spirit that does the mediation? How can Jesus tell us to be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and Peter and Paul tell us to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ? Without revelation you will never understand it. How can the Bible say that God hated Esau before he was even born and still be fair?
You want to know what really happened in Eden? I can tell you but without revelation you will not believe me. You want to know the Mystery of the Godhead? I can explain it to you but God has to reveal it for you to get it. A while ago we looked at the book of Ruth. To the world it is just a story of a woman and her daughter in law going home to Israel and getting their land back. But with the revelation of the Holy Spirit we see that the book of Ruth depicts God’s entire plan, as the Kinsmen Redeemer, of salvation for both Jews and gentiles.
The reason we have so many churches, lodges really, all preaching differently is that there is no revelation among them. They interpret the word by their own understanding and according to the desires and lusts of their flesh. When we decide ahead of time what the Bible says, then we look for scriptures that we can “interpret” to agree with us and deny and explain away the rest of the Bible that doesn’t.
Today we are preaching the Message of the Hour. We are preaching what the prophet preached, the unadulterated, revealed word of God for the hour. But we do not have the moving of God as the prophet did. If we get sick, a little pain here or there, the first thing we do is run to the doctor. Why is it so? Where are we at?
Matthew 23: 2Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: 3All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that obey and do; but do not ye after their works: for they sway and do not. 4For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5But all their works they do for to be seen of men: them make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, 6 and love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues.
Does this sound familiar to you? Have you seen it in churches around you, possibly ones you attend? So why is that? So why is there no revelation among the so called Christians? Why do we not see the simple truth that we ourselves are preaching? We have become like a sounding brass. We make noise but there is no power behind it. Why does the religious world miss the truth, and so many of those who have the truth preached to them, or even preach the truth themselves, not live it? Why the gross blindness? Why the hypocrisy?
The Greatest Battle Ever Fought
I am actually writing an entire book on this subject at the moment. There are two forces at work in this world. They are fighting a war that started a very long time ago. One is the creator and the other is the destroyer. One gives life and the other takes it. One is the God of heaven, the other it the god of this world. You were wondering when we would get to this. Sometimes we need a bit of buildup before making a point. We will all serve one or the other. The only way to overcome the devil is through Jesus Christ. A church cannot save you. Good works cannot save you. Only the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which comes through the new birth can overcome the devil.
1 John 4: 4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore they speak of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
If we are overcomers then it is only through Jesus Christ living in us that we are. The world does not overcome. The world refuses to hear the gospel. They will gladly hear creeds, dogmas, sociology, psychology and anything else you throw at them, but they will refuse the word of God. Notice there is no third position. We either worship and serve Jesus Christ, or we worship and serve Satan. Period. These are hard words but absolutely true. There are only two controlling spirits, good and bad, dark and light, life and death, there is heaven and hell, but there is no third option. Here is another scripture to show you.
Romans 6: 16Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
It is unmistakable! Take a deep breath. I don’t mean to hurt you, but I am bound to tell you the truth. Here it goes.
Every person who is not born again of the Holy Spirit is serving the devil.
Oh good, you are still reading. Now let us go deeper. Even those who are born of the Spirit of God used to serve the devil prior to the new birth. It says so clearly in the above scripture. We “were” the servants of sin until we received and obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ. Notice here too that Paul uses the personal pronoun “whom”. It is not what you obey, as an inanimate thing or a lifeless doctrine or creed, but rather “whom” as a person. Every word has a life, a spirit behind it. I spoke of this in Every Seed After His Kind. We either serve and obey Jesus Christ through the faith and obedience to the Word of God, or we serve and worship Satan through disbelief and disobedience to the Word of God.
And that is the test. Do we accept, believe and obey the Word of God exactly as it is written or do we add, subtract and mutilate the written word to try to bend it to fit our own desires? When the Bible says to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, do we immediately seek water and get baptized, or do we say the wording is not important as long as we are baptized? When the Bible says that we must have foot washing with the Lord’s Supper do we wash each other’s feet, or do we say “oh, that was because they wore sandals back then”? Do we accept the Word of God or reject Jesus Christ in favour of our church’s dogmas and creeds? Do we worship and serve Jesus Christ or Satan?
God spent 6 days, or 6 – 1000 year periods building Eden. The devil has spent the last 6000 years building his Eden. We are living today in Satan’s Eden. Let that sink in. He is ready to incarnate himself as the antichrist and dwell amongst his children in his paradise. Before he can do that, the Holy Spirit must vacate the gentile world. The only presence of the Lord God Jehovah in this world is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in his born again children. Period.
The only presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on earth is in the Christians.
While God is still dealing with the gentiles, the devil cannot take his position. Once the last of God’s predestinated sheep is in the fold, and brought to maturity, then God takes his bride home and leaves the world to the devil and his children. Unfortunately the foolish virgins and the Jews will be left as well, and will have to deal with it.
Romans 11: 25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of his mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, unto the fullness of the Gentiles come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant to them, when I shall take away their sins. 28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the Father’s sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
During that time of three and a half years, God will only be dealing with the 144,000 predestinated seed in Israel. The plagues will be striking the rest of the earth but the only voice of God anywhere on earth will be in the two prophets preaching to Israel. Without God in this world, the foolish virgins will have no protection and will be mercilessly slaughtered by the world. The religious world will gather and kill the foolish virgins and think that they are doing God a service. They will be serving the god of this world, the devil, and thinking they are serving the Living God. Jesus said it would be so. Get in Christ today!
The god of this world
Satan is the god of this world, and the god of this evil age. Today, what is evil is called good, and what is good is called evil. Speak one word against homosexuality or abortion and see for yourself. Speak in favour of Israel one time and see how they react. Tell them that the Bible forbids women preachers or that Jesus said in Luke that all remarriage outside of widowhood is adultery. Tell a religious person that they need to be rebaptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and watch how they react. Apollos who was originally baptized by John the Baptist, in Acts 19, took his entire congregation and got rebaptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Unto what were ye baptized? Will you go find water and get baptized properly? Every predestinated seed of God will.
The devil appeals to the desires of our flesh and our minds. His doctrines feel good to us and are logical and make sense. The doctrine of the devil will never convict us of sin. The doctrine of the devil will tell us that we are saved when we are not saved. The doctrine of the devil will never correct you, it will never point you back to the word of God but instead will interpret it to you in a way that will make your flesh feel good. You will walk into church a sinner, and leave a sinner, with no change to your life or attitude, yet thinking you are saved, simply because you attended or joined that church. The devil will tell you that God loves you just as you are and you do not need to change.
How evil is the world?
1 John 2: 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 and the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.
The things of the world are not of the Father, they are of the god of this world. Worldliness is of the devil. If we love the world’s fashions then we love Satan’s fashions. If we love worldy music then we love Satan’s music. If we love worldly politics, society, religion, philosophy, ideology etc, then we love the devil’s stuff. If we love the things of the world, then we love the things of the devil, and therefore we actually love the devil! I’ll let that sink in. If we love the things of the world, then we love the devil. Amen? Hold on it gets a little sharper yet. Is all the world ruled by him?
Luke 4: 5 And, the devil taking him up into a high mountain, and showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time; 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7 if thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
Do you still wonder why politics is so corrupt? The devil chooses who is in charge in the world. The Bible says so. That is why you won’t find a Christian in politics. They may try to sway people, but they will never be elected into office. You will find many who call themselves Christians but a real Christian stays away. They won’t want him around. Look to the Bible. Look at Abraham and Lot. Abraham stayed to his own while Lot went down into Sodom and got himself elected into a government position, the mayor of Sodom, for it says he sat at the gates judging the people. Who do you associate yourself with, Abraham the father of faith, or Lot. Are you of the World?
Who is your father? There are two gods, two fathers, two seeds. Are we of God, or of the wicked one? Do we see the gospel or is it hid to us? Are we of God or of the World?
When we cannot see the gospel, when we do not understand the revealed word of God for the hour, it is because the devil is blinding our minds to it. In Luther’s day the devil blinded people’s minds to Luther’s message and they rejected both him and his message. That message came from God so when they rejected Luther, they rejected God. In Noah’s day they rejected Noah’s message because the god of this world blinded their minds to it. And every one of them is dead, eternally separated from God.
And how did the devil blind their minds to Noah’s message? What trick did he use? He used logic, reasoning, science, philosophy and religion. Those are the tricks he has always used and will always use. It did not make sense that it would rain since at that time no rain fell. It did not rain before the flood. Science tells you right now that what I just told you is impossible but if you look into the scripture you will see that the original year had 360 days and today we have 365 ¼ days, and the 23 degree axis tilt did not exist then either. So the whole planet was in a different orbit than it is today. Whatever caused the flood knocked the whole planet out of alignment. The little earthquake that caused the Indonesian tsunami a few years back actually changed the length of the day, as did the big one in Haiti and the monster in Japan.
When Noah, in an age with all the science we have today and maybe a wee bit more, came preaching that God would destroy the earth with a flood caused by rain from the sky, it was easy for the devil to use reasoning, logic and science to blind the minds of the whole world to the truth. It had never rained, thus it could not rain. Simple logic tells you that. But they did not take everything into consideration. God said it would happen and it happened. Today we are told that the earth is reserved unto fire where the very elements will melt with a fervent heat. Do you believe it?
When Jesus came, how did the devil blind the minds of the people to who Jesus really was?
Mark 6: And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. 2 And when the Sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? And what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judah, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. 4 But Jesus said unto them, a prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, an din his own house. 5 and he could there do no might work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
The devil used reasoning and logic. They knew Jesus as a man and could not see that he was God. Even though he had amazing wisdom and worked signs and wonders, carnal reasoning told them that he was just a carpenter. Why would God choose him when he has a hundreds of priests and rabbis to use? It is the same today.
Why would God use a little corner church when he can use a big organization? A little church on the corner can only reach a handful of people but a big organized church can reach out to hundreds, thousand and even millions. Why would God choose an uneducated hillbilly when he has thousand of educated, theologians with Phd’s to their names and huge organizations backing them? Surely a logical God would use the big church. If a church has lots of members and lots of money, that must mean that they are right in their teaching and God is blessing them, right?
Who did God choose to forerun the first coming of Jesus Christ? He chose a man who was orphaned into the wilderness at the age of 12 and grew up on a diet of locusts and honey. Who crucified Jesus? The big organizations with lots of members and lots of money did it. What denomination was Jesus a member of? The denominations kicked him out and killed him. And yet today if you don’t have a university degree and a letter and membership card from a big organization nobody will hear you. That is the world in a nutshell.
St. John 15: 18If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If hey have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep your also. 21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
The world is of the devil for he is their god. Satan is the god of this world. He rules their politics, he rules their religion, he rules their fashion, he rules their entertainment. Logic, reasoning and blindness are the devil’s handiwork and he always plays to the lust of the flesh and the pride of the eye. The Bible warns that in our age, it would be the darkest, blindest age of all.
Isaiah 60: 2 For behold the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Not just a darkness but a gross darkness on the people. The devil has been more successful at blinding the hearts and minds of people in this age than in any other age before. In this age alone do we have the entire Bible revealed and in this age we have the most darkness as well. So much so that this is the only age in which we are told we are completely blind as a church. This is the age where we are warned that the devil would be so convincing that he would fool the very elect if it were possible.
Revelation 3: 14 And unto the angel of the church of Laodiceans write; These things sith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thour art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. 17Because thou sayest I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
This is Jesus talking here. He is not addressing the world, he is addressing the church. This letter is directed at the Bride of Christ. This is the condition of the spirit filled church today. This is the condition of the “message people”. The world is in far worse condition. The church today is blind! The church today is naked. We think we got it all and we got nothing. He is counseling us. Get treasures in heaven. Get white raiment. Get eyesalve.
The church today is blind and the god of the world has blinded them.
Look at your life. How are you living? Are you living the message or have the things of the world crept in to your life? Are you a walking Bible to every person you meet? Do we really see, understand, believe and obey this message? Are we living this message every day in our lives or is it a story of 50 years ago? Is God in our lives in the same way he was in the book of Acts? Are the signs, wonders and miracles following us? Have we met him personally? Do we have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ?
Or is the gospel hid to us? Is the Bible an open book to us, or is it a book of riddles that must be “interpreted” by our denomination, our theologian, our preacher, our pope etc. There are very many who will never see it no matter how long it is preached. Jesus said that there would only be a few that would see it, the rest would be blinded to it.
But the god of this world is subtle. He does not come with a pitch fork and a horse tail. When he comes to deceive the elect, he comes preaching the message of the hour. I have seen it where a man came and preached perfectly on the word for two straight hours, got the crowd excited, subtly slipped in his own personal heresy, and then went back to preaching perfectly for another hour. And the crowd all said Amen and missed it. They were not paying attention and accepted a false doctrine with no basis in the Word of God.
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
The word “Christ” means anointed. So a False Christ is a False anointed one. They truly are anointed but are not doing the works of God. Balaam was such a one. He was an anointed prophet. He prophesied with “thus saith the Lord”. When he went to curse Israel, he had to bless them because he was a prophet under an anointing and could only say the words God put in his mouth. But when he was not prophesying he brought in his damnable heresy that almost ended the nation of Israel. The high priest in Jesus day prophesied under an anointing because of his position. Jesus said that the high preist was a child of his father the devil and yet he still prophesied under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
I encourage everyone to listen to Brother Branham’s sermon “False anointed at the endtime”; that is your homework. Give it a good listen, it will help you understand that paradox. Also check out the sermons “Satan’s Eden” and “the God of this Evil Age”.
The false annointed come so close as to deceive the elect. So they must be message preachers! A catholic priest with a turned around collar is never going to deceive you, but someone who can quote the message like a machine gun is another story. And they will use the same doctrine of Balaam to blind the hearts and minds of the people. Look who God likens them to.
Jude 1: 11 Woe unto them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried aobut of winds: trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reseved the blackness of darkness forever. 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.
Cain, Balaam, Core; these were all false anointed of their day. These were all claiming to be believers. They were not the heathen. Balaam a prophet, lost because of his greed for money and power and popularity. Cain had the biggest most beautiful church and was murderously jealous of Abel’s little alter because God was with Abel and that condemned Cain. Core, what a scoundrel he was. God opened the very earth to devour him. He was after money and power and blasphemed God’s chosen, anointed prophet and the message of the hour to his day.
They all did the same thing. They all had a big ecclesiastical move to gather people to them, to earn power, and popularity and money. They all pretended to be believers yet did not believe.
Numbers 16:2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown: 3And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the lord?
Core was after power and accused Moses of doing the very thing that he himself was guilty of. He gathered all the popular men of his day together of a big ecclesiastical convention and rose up against the prophet that God sent. Core took 250 souls with him to his death.
Balaam told the Moabites to get their girls to fellowship with the Israelite boys saying that we are all “Christians” as we would say today. That led Israel off into idolatry. That cost Israel 24,000 lives. And it would have been far worse if a man, a boy actually, named Phinehas, had not stepped in. He came from good stock, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron. He stepped in when he saw the evil that was afoot. He could not take it anymore, it vexed his soul and he acted and God was pleased with him.
We need more Phinehases today!
We need someone to step in and act to correct the wrong. We need men with spines to stand upon the Word of God and call black, black and white, white and to condemn sin from pillar to post! We need men who are willing to be cast out from everyone, to live as hermits if necessary, but to stand strong upon the truth and both live and preach the revealed word of God for the hour. We have too many wishy washy pretenders looking for money, power and glory in the pulpits today.
The devil blinded the eyes of the people to the message of their hour and he did it with religion, with popularity, with money, with reason, with logic, with a private interpretation of the word of God that does not line up with the word of God. He came in Moses day with the prophet’s own message to the believers and peeled off 250 preachers with him. They all burned incense. And the numbers were low because God put a quick stop to it. If God would have let Core go he would have drawn half of Israel along to hell with him.
What about today? How many are being drawn off with the doctrine of Balaam? How many blinded by the gainsaying of Core? How many false prophets and false anointed looking to get rich off the people do we have today? How many having itching ears do we have behind the pulpits? Tell the people what they want to hear, please their flesh and they will fill the seats, and empty your wallet.
The Bible says “there must come a falling away first”. They are falling like rain.
Just ask yourself, if there are so few being raptured, then why are there so many in churches? The god of this world has blinded their minds and they can no longer see the truth! They will believe any lie they are fed.
2 Thessalonians 2: 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10and with all deceivable ness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.
If we do not love the truth, we will get to the point where we cannot believe it, or even see it anymore, and we will believe the devil’s lies as gospel. Once the devil has blinded our minds to the truth, we are under a strong delusion and will believe a total fabrication, a total lie. That is why we have over 1,100 “churches” all preaching out of the same book and all preaching different. We have every form of insanity being preached and the people are gobbling it up. There are “churches” preaching that there is no devil, they baptize in titles instead of the name of Jesus Christ, they don’t believe in the rapture, they don’t believe in the gifts, they put up Xmas tress, they have women preachers, they marry homosexuals and divorced people, and the list goes on and on.
The word of God is sure. There is no room for argument. But our flesh does not like it and if we fail to crucify our flesh then we will turn from the Word of God and accept the dogmas and creeds of men and believe the lies to be the truth.
2 Timothy 4: 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Fables instead of the Word of God. The whole protestant world is wrapped up in the World Counsel of Churches, the image of the beast, and has denied the Word of God. They have pushed out Jesus Christ in favour of man made dogma. Twice dead plucked up by the roots. They cannot endure the preaching of the Word of God because it condemns their worldly, ungodly lives. So instead of repenting and accepting the Word of God they reject the Word of God and heap to themselves preachers who will not scold them, preachers who will not correct them, preachers who will not strike against their ungodliness from the pulpit. They will find preachers who will not cry out for the abominations in the city. And by turning away from the word they will receive a strong delusion so that they will believe the lies that come from the liars they put in the pulpits.
The liars will tell them that they are saved when they are hopelessly lost and the people will rejoice to hear it. They will compromise on the Word of God and the people will say amen to it. They will turn the services into Hollywood extravaganzas award winning performances and the song services into rock concerts and the people will clap their hands and rejoice.
And in the message churches we are seeing the same thing happen, but it must happen for the word said it would happen.
2 Thessalonians 2: 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself to be God.
Now that is the antichrist, who we now know is the pope. Through the prophet’s ministry we can now see in the word of God exactly what the Mark of the Beast is. But that is for another sermon. But the scripture says that there must be a falling away first. In order to fall away we have to have something to fall away from. If we are following a lie to begin with then we have nothing to fall away from. So it is not a falling away from religion but a falling away from the vindicated message of the hour. And from the scriptures we can also see that the falling away will be so close as to deceive the elect of God if it were possible.
It is true that some will fall away to denomonationalism and become beast worshippers. That is surely happening. But there is also a falling away to the doctrine of Balaam and the gainsaying of Core while still giving homage to the Revealed Word of God. And that is the most dangerous of all. The god of this world is managing to blind the minds of the foolish virgins just enough to keep them from receiving the Holy Spirit. And he does it through the same means as he has always used. He will us logic, reasoning, religion, popularity, politics, money, power etc. He will use an ecclesiastical move like Core to round up all the believers on his side. He will promote cross fellowship and gather the sheep, or steal sheep, from other churches and play on their lusts to get them away from the word. And they will fleece them for every dime in their pockets while he is at it.
The god of this world has an agenda. He wants you dead, both physically and spiritually. He will tempt you, con you, lie to you, confuse you, torment you, condemn you, praise you, bless you, persecute you and do anything and everything to get you off of the Word of God.
First he will butter you up and tell you how wonderful you are, how holy, how spiritual. He will play straight to your pride. Then he will bring the Word to you and try to interpret it to you. He will make it look so beautiful. He will make it look so glamorous. He will make it look so reasonable and logical. He will appeal to your every carnal sense and to your every fleshly lust. He will bring his lie in such a way that it will sound perfect to your flesh. The devil’s lie will meet every fleshly desire you have. Then he will try to get you to compromise on the Word, to admit there is some merit in what he is saying. Then he will attack you and demoralize you. He is a killer. He is a destroyer. He is a liar and a murderer, and the father of it all.
The only escape is the Word. The Bible promises us that if we resist the devil and he shall flee from us. He is a bluffer. He was defeated at Calvary 2,000 years ago. Jesus Christ defeated him, took his authority away, paid the price for our every sin, cleansed our iniquities and healed all of our diseases.
Satan has no power over you except the that you give him.
Resist him. Reject him. Take God’s Word no matter how hard it is for it will cleanse you and give you eternal life. Don’t look at physical evidence, look at the promised Word of God. Abraham did not look at his old age or his withered wife. He looked at God’s promise and believed and received a son at the age of 100 with his 90 year old wife. Noah did not look at science but trusted God’s promise of rain and spent 120 years building and ark and preaching that it would rain when science told him it could not.
Isaiah told us that we would be in a state of gross darkness, but in the evening there would be light. Walk in that light while it is still shining for one day very soon there will be absolutely no light left for the gentiles. A day is fast approaching when it will simply be too late. Are you in Christ Jesus this morning? Have you been closing your eyes to the truth? Have you been led away with religion, politics, reason, logic, glamour, popularity, money? Are you feeding your flesh or your soul? Are you eating the fresh manna?
The devil is defeated. He is exposed. The light that shines from Jesus Christ casts out all darkness. Don’t let the devil blind your minds any longer. Don’t let the gospel be hid to you. Cry out to God for revelation! God is calling the bride to repentance! Repent and live the message. Do what the word tells you to do. If it says repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, then do it, do it today for tomorrow may be too late. Whatever the word says, do it.
Don’t trust in numbers. Don’t trust in man. Don’t trust in organization. Trust only in Jesus Christ. Do not let the god of this world blind your eyes to the truth. Satan is the god of this world and the whole world worships and adores him and does not even know it; they are blind. The world is blind! The denominations are blind! Satan is the god of this world.
Revelation 13: 8 And ALL that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
We, as Children of God, must Fulfill All Righteousness in Christ Jesus. We first, however, need to understand how. I have endeavoured to lay it out briefly below, but we all need a spiritual revelation, not simply intellectual understanding. So read this, brothers and sisters, read it carefully, but don’t take my word for anything. I can make mistakes too. Pray over it, compare it with scriptures, and wait for the Lord to reveal it to you personally. I assure you that what I have outlined below is the absolute truth, line upon line, precept upon precept, word upon word, but you need to let the Lord assure you through a Holy Spirit Revelation. Once He opens His Word to you, then nobody can take it away from you, or sway you into any compromise ever again.
Matthew 3: 13Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
Jesus was perfect. He was standing there before his prophet as Jehovah God in human flesh. Yet he came to the man that he created and asked to be baptized of him. To the prophet this did not make any sense. What purpose could it possibly serve for creation to baptize the creator. The creator I say? Yes.
John 1:In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
In the Lord Jesus Christ dwelled the fullness of the godhead bodily. Here was Jehovah God in flesh, demanding that a mere mortal sinner baptize him. When John, totally confused by this situation, asked why, Jesus said it was to “fulfill all righteousness”. That is a great answer, but what does that mean?
How does it fulfill all righteousness?
We need to take a step back. Everything that is created in the physical world is a replica of a spiritual counterpart. That idea is new to many people. But if you search the scriptures you will find that it is the absolute truth. In fact the Bible itself is actually the complete testimony of Jesus Christ; it is God in print.
Jesus told us that. But again that idea needs to be expanded upon. Let’s take an example from the Bible.
Joseph was a prophet, a very spiritual man. The Lord gave him dreams. He was loved of his father above all his brothers. His father loved him so much that he made him a special coat, a coat of many colours. His brothers were very jealous of him. They sold him out into slavery, to the Egyptians.
Jesus too was a prophet, a spiritual man, loved of the Lord above all. He was given a sign of the dove that he was the blessed one. Judas sold him out to the Romans.
Joseph ended up in prison, Jesus after his crucifixion went into hell. With Joseph were a baker and a butler. One man was saved and one man was lost. Jesus was on the cross with two thieves, one was saved and one was lost.
Joseph came out of prison to sit at the right hand of Pharaoh. No man come come to Pharaoh but through Joseph. Jesus sits at the right hand of God and no man can come to God but through the Lord Jesus Christ. When Joseph went into the city, a trumpet was blown and every knee had to bow to him. When Jesus returns at the last trump, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
Joseph took a gentile bride. Jesus has done the same. That Bride is the born again, spirit filled church. There was a remnant born to Israel after Joseph’s departure, Benjamin. Before Joseph revealed himself to his brothers, to the remnant, he first sent his gentile bride out. Before Jesus returns to Israel, to the 144,000 with Moses and Elijah, he will rapture his gentile bride home.
Joseph is a perfect type of Jesus Christ. His life, unknown to him at the time, was arranged by the Lord so that every step would reveal the Lord Jesus Christ. You can see Christ in every other scripture, in every other prophet. Ruth for example, is not just a random story of some woman, it is the entire plan of salvation for all mankind demonstrated through Boaz, the Kinsmen Redeemer of Ruth.
So then where does the baptism fit in? Jesus Christ was the Lamb of God, slain before the foundation of the world, slain for the sin of man. He is our sacrifice. John, playing the role of the priest, had to wash the sacrifice before it could be presented. John fulfilled all righteousness, he fulfilled the righteousness of God.
What does this mean for us today? In everything we do, in our churches, in our families, at our jobs, we must also fulfill all righteousness. We, as Christians, are the only Bibles many people will read. We, therefore, are also the living testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ to this generation.
We will all be held accountable for it! The Lord Jesus will judge us on it.
Have we fulfilled all righteousness? Have we in our lives fulfilled the Righteousness of God?
So now let us look again at some examples from the Bible. I mentioned that Jesus has taken a gentile bride. That is a strange thing to say isn’t it? But remember, as we saw earlier, every single thing physical in this universe is a type of something spiritual. Our marriages, the relationship between a man and his wife, and the children, are all a type of something far greater.
Jesus Christ the Lord is our Bridegroom. We the Church are the Bride. He is our head. He makes decisions for us. We the Church, do as he our Lord dictates. Now not to sound vulgar, but this is simple biology.
The Bridegroom puts his seed into the Bride, and she bares him children like unto himself. This is true in the physical and the spiritual. The children are the image of the Father.
Genesis 1: 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good……24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Notice the seed is after “his” kind. You see, God is the creator. The earth is the incubator. God is preeminent and above all. He does not share his glory. So the physical type to show God, must perfectly represent him. Therefore the seed MUST be carried by the male, the bridegroom.
So then what is the seed of God? God’s seed is His Word, Logos. God’s Word is a seed that carries the life, the spirit, of God. We are the Church, the Bride. The Lord puts his seed, his Word, into the Church, and the Church incubates Christians that are in the likeness and image of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our earthly human families have been designed by the Lord God to be the very image and expression of the relationship between the Lord Jesus Christ and the Church Spiritual.
This is why there are many things in the Bible that don’t make logical sense to many people. They are thinking carnally, and not spiritually. They are not looking at things through the lens of the Revealed Word of God for the Hour. Now does this scripture make more sense?
Ephesians 5: 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
It has nothing to do with ability, or intelligence, or skills, or education, or anything else carnal. It is all simply to Fulfill All Righteousness. A woman that is filled with the Holy Spirit will rejoice to submit herself to her husband, as John rejoiced to baptize the Lord Jesus Christ. In so doing, she is not simply obeying the scripture, she is fulfilling all righteousness and being the same kind of testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ that the prophet Joseph was, and will receive equal reward.
Similarly on that note:
1 Timothy 2: 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
Are there women that are smarter than men, smarter than their male preachers? Absolutely, many of them. Are there women who are better public speakers? Of course there are. Are there women who have memorized scriptures better? Yes. Does the Lord God permit any of them to preach? No. Why? We just went over that. Men are the type of Christ in the relationship. Women are the type of the Church.
The seed is with the man!
Every seed after HIS kind. The seed is from the Lord. The Church lives by the Word of the Lord, not the other way around. And the Church cannot impregnate itself in the spiritual any more than a female can in the natural. The Lord, the Bridegroom sends his Word, his Seed, into the Church, and the Church incubates that Seed, that Word, producing children of God. Since the Seed comes from the male, the preaching comes from the male. It is the perfect type.
Once again, with a little revelation, any spirit filled born again Christian woman reading this will rejoice. She will realize that her submission has nothing to do with being a lesser person, but rather with identifying herself in the Word of God and fulfilling all righteousness. Sisters in Christ, never put yourselves down or allow anyone else to put you down for standing firmly in your place in Christ Jesus. Your reward is with HIM, and he shall reward you openly to the shame of the whole world.
And any ladies out there who are preaching, please, please pray over this and line yourself up with the word so that you too can fulfill all righteousness, identify Christ to the world, and receive the manifold blessings of being a living testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now let me take a moment here to also relay that not all men are called to preach. In fact very few are. There are so few called to the ministry that the Lord told us to pray for workers.
Matthew 9: 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. 38Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
You might be inclined to say “few? there is a televangelist on every TV station and a church on every corner”. Yes there indeed are. But how many of them have the commission of the Lord? Very, very few. That is what the Lord Jesus said. So men, before you get behind the pulpit, ask yourself why you are there. If you want to be there, then you should not be there. If it burns inside you and you have to do it even though you would prefer not too, then maybe you are called for it. If you have not had a supernatural event that led you there, stop and wait for one.
So now back to the idea of fulfilling all righteousness. Preaching only when you are called is one way. Preaching strict on the word is part of that.
But it is our lives that make the difference.
How do we know somebody is a Christian? Is it that they smile a lot? Do they carry crosses or pack Bibles everywhere?
Matthew 7: 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
That is pretty simple. So what are the fruits?
Galatians 5: 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Which fruits do you bear? Both types are listed here. I guarantee you that every single human being on this ball we call Earth displays one or the other. We are either bearing the fruit of the flesh, or the Spirit. And we can only bear the fruit of the Spirit IF the Spirit of God dwells in us. If we had the spirit of Mozart we would write beautiful music. If we had the spirit of Einstein we would be master physicists. If we have the Spirit of Jesus Christ then we will fulfill all righteousness.
So long as we are in the flesh we are not fulfilling any righteousness.
Romans 8: 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
That is a big chunk of meat, but the truth. The “righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”. If you are walking after the Spirit, led by the Holy Spirit of God, then you are fulfilling all righteousness. You are not producing it, you simply bear it. A sheep does not produce wool. It does not get up every morning and measure its wool and make a plan to get more. It does not even think of it. The sheep simply lives its life, eats grass, drinks water, takes a nap. And without a thought of it, the sheep bears the wool.
A Christian does not produce the fruit. A Christian does not think about how he or she should behave or react. A Christian simply lives the life of Jesus Christ and the fruits of the Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ are born naturally, and in many cases supernaturally, in their lives.
Those who have to plan and calculate “what a Christian would do” are Pharisees. These are the true legalists. They are disciplined. They are controlled. They are artificial, wolves in sheep skins. They live double lives. Outwardly they are sweet like sugar, but inwardly bitter and hateful. They will hold a grudge forever. They will destroy all those who are in their way. They will fleece the true sheep for every dime they can. The Bible speaks amply of these types.
But we are not concerned with them, we are concerned with the Children of the Living God. We are concerned with Fulfilling All Righteousness. We are concerned to do that which the Bridegroom commands of us, that we may, as Joseph of old, be a living testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ to our generation. We are concerned to edify the mystical body of Jesus Christ. We are concerned to be pleasing unto him.
Go forth in the power and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Go forth in the Revelation of the Message of the Hour.
St. John 13:21 Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
May the Lord add His blessing to the reading of His word.
I have a very important topic here. So for a text let us look at the idea of “Receiving”. And not just receiving in general but doing it by God’s provided way. I trust the Lord will open our eyes tonight, and take away the tiredness that we may receive the message on receiving.
Many things in the word are a chain reaction where one thing leads unto the next. That is the case here. And we also find with these things, that they are mutually exclusive. In other words if you have one, you automatically do not have the other. In mathematics they use a term IFF. I-F-F, which means if and only if. It is true for out topic. Jesus tells us that IFF we receive whom he sends then we will receive him, and IFF we receive him we will receive him that sent him.
A little background here. Sometimes we think of these things as milk because we heard them so long ago. Or sometimes the scriptures seem so familiar to us we forget that the riches of God are bottomless. No matter how many times we revisit a scripture, the Lord God will always have something new in it for us. Remember the manna, you had to eat the fresh stuff every day. So to with this heavenly manna, we have to turn to God every day for a fresh revelation on His word. This next scripture is a very familiar scripture to most, but let us re-examine it for a moment.
St. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness on the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own receiveth him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
So we see here that the author is speaking of Jesus Christ, the “only begotten of the Father”. It says that in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the Word WAS GOD! Not a second person, not a third person, not another person, but God himself. And again in the 14th verse it tells us that the Word of God, which is God, was made flesh and dwelt amongst us as the only begotten of the father.
See not three gods in one, but one god in three. The Trinitarians have it backwards. One God, fulfilling three jobs. That is the Mystery of the Godhead we spoke of last time.
Who met Moses as the pillar of fire? God, the great I am. Who met Paul in the pillar of fire 1500 years later? Jesus. Remember Jesus said to the Pharisees, before Abraham was I AM? Who is the great I AM? God. Look at what Isaiah spoke of Jesus.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The prince of peace.
There is nothing to interpret. Isaiah plainly tells us who the messiah was. It was God himself in flesh. That is hard to take when you have been told the opposite for years but it is Bible and it is the absolute truth. Thus saith the lord “ His name shall be called ‘the mighty god, the everlasting father’”. No way around it. Either the Bible is right or it isn’t. As for me and my house, we will stick with the Bible. Amen?
And we need that bit of background for our scripture. Jesus said in order to receive God, you would first have to receive him, and in order to receive him, you would have to receive the person whom he sent. This background ties the first two neatly together.
Remember we just read that Jesus Christ is the word of God made flesh. So if we receive Jesus Christ we are receiving the word of God, and if we are receiving the word of God we then must be receiving Jesus Christ for the two are one and the same.
And in order to receive God, we must first receive his word, which is Jesus Christ, which is God. So God is in his word, for he is his word. Every word in this Bible is God. If we reject a word from this Bible, then we are rejecting Jesus Christ, and in so doing we are rejecting God, for the word, Jesus Christ and God are one and the same.
We cannot have one without the other! Let me repeat that. We cannot have one without the other! We can only receive of the Lord through God’s provided way.
If we do not have Jesus Christ then we do not have God the Father. If we do not have this blessed word then we do not have Jesus Christ. If we reject, disbelieve, disobey this word of God then we are rejecting Jesus Christ and Rejecting God. This milk has a few lumps in it.
Jesus said we do not live by bread alone but by every word which proceedeth from the mouth of the father. Every single word! The whole Bible! If we are to live, then we must receive the whole Bible. To reject one word of it is to reject all of it. Lets have a look.
James 2: 10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Guilty of all? That is what the Bible says. To reject one word from that holy book is to completely reject Jesus Christ, and to completely reject the Holy Spirit of God that dwelled in him. We have to believe the whole word, and in order to believe the whole word of God, our flesh must be mortified. Flesh and blood cannot receive the word of God, it comes by the Holy Spirit of God only.
We must have the word and only the word of God. We cannot add to it, we cannot take from it, we cannot interpret it. That is a surprise to many for that is what the churches have been doing for years.
2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
There is no private interpretation allowed for any scriptures. Take the scripture, the Bible, exactly as it is written. Do not add, do not take away and do not change it. There is a grave danger for anyone who does.
Galatians 1: 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Chris. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have receive, let him be accursed.
Do you see the responsibility that comes with this pulpit? Anyone who wants to be a preacher really does not know what it means to be a preacher. Those of us who do it, do so because it burns inside of us.
Do you see now why without the whole, unadulterated, unchanged, unperverted, uninterpreted word of God we simply cannot receive the Lord God? Jesus Christ is the living word of God and any change to this gospel makes it not the word of God anymore. Anyone and everyone who changes this gospel is accursed. That’s not my word, that is Bible.
So how can we be Christians, how can we call ourselves children of God, without the Lord God and his word? Impossible. Do you see how silly it is now? How can a church, a minister, a man preach a dogma which is contrary to the written word of God and call itself a Christian church when the Apostle Paul says that organization is accursed for doing it? How can a church institute rules and regulations and behaviours that are contrary to the Word of God and call themselves Christians? It is absurd, yet it is done all the time and everywhere.
They have changed baptism. They have introduced trinity. They have woman preachers now. Homosexuals in the pulpits now. Smokers, thieves, adulterers, liars. And the list goes on and on and on. And it is all completely contrary to the Bible yet they not only behave this way, they preach this behavior as being righteous. They act totally contrary to the word of God, they believe dogmas and creeds that are completely contrary to the word of God and they teach those things contrary to the word of God. They have rejected God’s provided way. So is God with them? Can the Lord bless this behaviour without being a hypocrite?
Revelation 3: 20 Behold I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me.
Where is Jesus Christ, the word of God, today? He is outside of the church! He is knocking and trying to get back in! But he is not trying to get back into organizations and denominations. He has been pushed out. They have pushed out the word of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, in favour of creeds, and dogmas, and philosophy, and science so called, and Apostle’s creeds, and Nicene councils etc. They have no room for the Bible anymore. They have no room for Jesus in their lives or their organizations.
And as we read, without the Word, Jesus Christ, we cannot have God the Father. No Bible equals NO GOD! If we do not come by God’s Provided Way, then we cannot come to him at all.
So then how can we get the true word of God? How can we receive Jesus Christ? We must receive the one whom he sent.
Romans 10: 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher: 15 And who shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things. 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
“Sent”. Preachers must be sent. God will send men as they are needed. He will send the man of his own choice at exactly the right time. And if you read the Bible you will find that he never sends the eloquent speakers, he never sends the highly educated, he never sends the ones men would send. In every age he sends a messenger with a message, and that message will always be the word of God. If it is not “thus saith the Lord” line upon line, precept upon precept, word upon word with this Bible, have nothing to do with it. If it is, then receive it. God has five different ministries which he exercises from the pulpit.
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, Apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
There are exactly five ministries that he sends. He picks men of his own choosing, anoints them with his holy spirit, and send them out as preachers. And he always picks that which is least to bring to naught that which is. The ones that Jesus sends will preach only this blessed word of God for the hour. They will not add, they will not take away, they will not interpret. They will be on the word, line by line, precept by precept, word by word for the Holy Ghost will tell them what to say. That is God’s Provided Way.
When a man is preaching under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, he is God’s mouthpiece. He is no longer speaking his own words, he is speaking the word of God. When we reject that speaker we will reject his words too, and if he is sent by Jesus Christ, the words he is speaking are the word of God, which is Jesus Christ. Is that clear? To reject the man that the Lord God sends to bring you his word, is to flatly reject the Lord Jesus Christ.
If we reject the God sent preacher, we will reject the word of God, which is Jesus Christ and in so doing reject God. Pretty simple, yet very hard for some to understand.
1 Corinthians 1: 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 for it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 for after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom know not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
God chose to use preaching to save us. He is totally preeminent. He is in charge and his decisions are binding on all. He could have chose any number of ways to save us. He could have sent angels to each of us. He could have appeared in the pillar of fire to every Christian. He could have sent our dead relatives back to us. He could have chosen any number of ways but he chose preaching. Souls are saved by preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. When Jesus sends a man to preach, and you receive his preaching, you are receiving the word of God which is Jesus Christ and thereby you receive God. Jesus said “my words are spirit and life.” And how does a God sent preacher preach the word of God? Exactly according to the Bible.
God doesn’t pick the wise, he doesn’t pick, the educated, the doesn’t want people with university degrees in theology, doctor’s of divinity, the wise and the disputer of the world. God wants a simple man who will do what he is told. Just look at the scriptures at who God picked. Noah. Elisha. John the Baptist. Peter. Overwhelmingly God chose those with little or no education of the world and the few educated men he picked, he first had to beat it out of them. Moses took 40 years to get the wisdom of Egypt out of him. Paul had to be blinded. And look what Paul said of his Bible school seminary education.
Philippians 3: 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them by dung, that I may win Christ.
Dung! You know what that means. That is what he counted his Bible school education. His Masters of Divinity degree was “dung”. His PhD in Religion was “dung”. He got so educated that he was persecuting the very God whom he thought he was worshipping. He knew the letter of the scriptures by heart but did not know the spirit of them. He was never preached to by a God sent preacher! He never heard the revealed word of God for the hour, and as such was drawn away by a denomination and was persecuting the true church of Jesus Christ. He was the most zealous man in Israel for God and all the while an enemy to God because of the doctrines that were preached to him.
To receive God we must receive Jesus Christ which is the word of God. To receive the word of God, we must receive the man whom Jesus sent to preach the word of God. When the Lord sent Noah with a message, all who rejected Noah and his message were lost forever. When the Lord sent Moses, all who rejected Moses and his message were lost forever. The same goes for Amos, Ezekiel, Luther, Wesley, Martin, Branham, Paul, Peter, John etc etc etc. That is God’s Provided Way for us. We must receive Jesus Christ and we must receive those whom he has sent. That is God’s provided way for us, for all of us, there are no exceptions.
Do you want to know what character in a man to look for in a God sent preacher? Look in the Bible. Who he picked then, he will pick now. Look at Peter. Look at John the Baptist. Look at Elijah. Look at Micah. Look at Amos. Look at Noah. Look at Ezekiel. What common threads do you see with those men? You will see that in the God sent preachers today.
What is being preached to you? Is it the word of God? Do you check it with your Bible? Who is preaching? Did God send him? Are you rejecting him? Are you rejecting his message? Are you receiving him? It is as dangerous to receive a man that the Lord did not send, as it is to reject a man that the Lord did send. Remember, Eve received the preaching of the serpent.
If a God sent man is preaching to us and we reject his message then we are rejecting Jesus Christ. If a man is preaching on his own and we receive his message, which is contrary to the Bible, then we are rejecting Christ as well. It is truly a tightrope we must walk. That is why the Bible says to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. That is why the Bible says that in our day the false prophets will be so close to the true as to deceive the very elect if it were possible. But it is not possible. The elect will check the word of the preacher with the word of God.
What did you hear this morning? What did you hear this evening? Did you check it with the word? Was it the word of God? If so accept it and receive eternal life.
Did what you heard appeal to your flesh or your soul? Did it cut you? Did it correct you?
The only way to God is through Jesus Christ. The only way to receive Jesus Christ is to receive the revealed word of God. We cannot have one without the other. God’s word runs in continuity, to break this would break the entire word of God and make God a liar. The Holy Spirit, which is God, cannot say or do or move anyone to say or do anything that is contrary to the word of God. If it is not perfectly aligned with this Bible, it is not of God. Period. It doesn’t matter how good is sounds, how good it looks, how good it feels, how politically correct it is, how psychologically sound it seems, how many degrees the person saying it has, if it is not exactly Bible, it is not of God. Remember that.
There are two ways, one is hard and narrow, and that is the way to life and that is the word of God. The other is easy, and wide, and leads to damnation and that is the word of man. The word of man will appeal to the flesh, it will appeal to your emotions. It will be wise, intelligent and logical. But it will kill you.
God is in his word and he has sent men to preach that word to lead us to him. When we receive the revealed word of God for the hour, we receive Jesus Christ and thereby we receive God himself into us. Those words will be hard to hear. They will convict our flesh. They will break our hearts to repentance. They will correct us. Jesus Christ is standing at the door and knocking right now. He is not at the door of your church, he is at the door of your heart. Will you receive him?
Receive the Lord Jesus Christ. Receive him by his word and his spirit. Receive him today. Jesus said “I am the truth, the life, and the way”. He is God’s provided way. The revealed word of God for the hour, is God’s provided way, for it is the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 3:1 If ye be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in Glory.
May the Lord add a blessing to the reading of His word.
I’ld like to take as a topic for today “If ye be risen with Christ” and a text “Eulogy of the Flesh”. That is quite a concept. Jesus Christ is risen from the dead. He was born, he lived, he died, he was buried, he even went into hell, and now he is risen from the dead and lives forevermore. Jesus Christ is alive and well today.
He sits today on the mercy seat making intercession for us. He is our advocate. When we make a mistake we bring it before his throne and he makes the intercession for us. When he steps off of that mercy seat to rapture away his bride, there will be no more mercy for he will no longer be our priest, he will be our King. And he will be our judge. And he will sit in the judgment seat and judge every man by his own word.
But today, at least at the writing of this blog, he is on the mercy seat. One day somebody may be reading this, and it will be too late. This morning he is on the mercy seat. This afternoon, he may not be there anymore, but right now at this moment he is still making intercession for us. But I digress for the moment.
So then “if ye be risen with Christ”. Quite a concept it is indeed. How can we be risen? And how can we be risen with Christ? Did you ever ask that question? Did you get an answer?
To start with, in order to be risen, must we not first die? To be risen, is to resurrect, or to come back to life. Then we must have to be dead in order to come back to life. And truly each and every one of us was dead in trespasses and sin.
Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
All! Everyone of us was concluded under sin. We were all dead in sin. And anyone who has not been born again is still spiritually dead. Walking, talking, laughing, singing, working, dancing, running and jumping and D-E-A-D dead. It does not matter who you are or who you think you are, if you do not have the Holy Spirit in you then you are absolutely dead. You could be a preacher, a president or a pope and it would not help you; the only true life, the only eternal life, is in Jesus Christ. Hard words but we need to hear them.
But it is not enough to be dead in sin. We need to be dead TO sin.
In order to be brought back to life we must die, to ourselves, to our flesh, and to the sin which dwells in our flesh. It is within our very flesh that sin, unbelief, dwells. Our flesh is lustful. It is evil. Our flesh is so bad that even the Lord God cannot fix it. Our flesh is not redeemed, our souls are. Then we move from our flesh to our theophany. Flesh and blood cannot inherit eternal life. The flesh loves fleshly pleasures that are contrary to the will of God.
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
That is not my word but God’s very own holy word. The lusts and desires of our flesh, of my flesh, of your flesh, are totally and completely contrary to the will of God. They work against God. In order to be the children of God we must be overcomers of sin and of this flesh. It is not enough to hold our flesh prisoner, it will escape. That is what we do in the carnal. That is how alcoholics anonymous works. They train themselves to take their flesh prisoner, to control their urges, to quit doing the bad thing. But the desires are still there and one day when you are least expecting it those desires will rear up and overtake you and you are back at square one. You never overcame, and the reason you never overcame is that your sin never died.
If you do not die to your sin then your sin is still alive in you!
Look at cancer. How is it treated? The doctors will cut our most of it from you, but there is still some left, and if more is not done, it will grow and destroy you. We quit smoking, we quit this quit that and think we are fine. We have just cut a few parts of sin away but there is more left just like cancer and just like cancer what is left will grow and destroy you. So the doctor then administers a poison called chemotherapy. The poison is designed to kill the remaining cancer cells. If even one cancer cell is missed by the poison, then it can grow, and with your weakened body from the poison, it will soon devour you. To those who are spiritual, even if every cancerous cell is destroyed, as long as the cancer spirit remains, the cancer can come back. That is how a person can be “cured” of cancer and then die of it ten years later. The spirit that caused it was never cast out. That is the same way a person can quit smoking and then start back up 15 years later. The spirit never left them.
We cut this, and cut that, and get psychology, and seek therapy, and get religious, and come to church, and hang out with new people and cut out a bunch of old habits. But if there is sin left behind, if we do not actually kill the sin then it will grow.
Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fall of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Just like cancer, a root of bitterness, an undead sin in us, will spring up when we are least expecting it and defile us. That is why we MUST die to our sin. If we just put off a few things, or quit a few things, then we are not dead yet. We cannot be risen until we are first dead! Let me repeat that so it sinks in. We cannot be risen until we are first dead!
People will ask, “what must I do to get the Holy Spirit?” DIE! Die to your sin so that you can be risen with Christ. Die a death as sure as if you put a gun to your head and blew your brains across the room. But the death is a spiritual one, not physical.

Do you see it? Did you get all that? Lets look at it more closely:
Romans 6: 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Christ were baptized into his death?
How were you baptized? Were you baptized into a church? That is what the Jehovah witnesses do. Not into Christ but into a church. Most denominations will baptize you into titles of father son and holy ghost. But look what the scripture says, we must be baptized into Christ. Then and only then are we baptized into his death. But there is more.
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of live.
Buried in baptism. Not sprinkled with him, but buried with him in baptism. A full immersion in water is required or the Lord does not recognize it. Jesus was placed in a tomb. Then we must walk in the newness of life. A new life. We must live a new life. If we are not living a new life, with new ideas and new desires then we are not yet dead to our sin. That is the problem, we get so excited to baptize people that we are baptizing live people. We are burying live people. You cannot bury someone until they are dead. The Bible says to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Repent, die unto sin, then be baptized. Without repentance you will simply go in a dry sinner and walk out a wet sinner. A spiritual zombie. We will think we are OK, but according to the Word of God, we are not.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. 6 Knowing this that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Our old man is crucified with him. The body of sin is destroyed. Is our old man crucified this morning, or just kept under raps until we get out of church and away from other Christians? Are we dead to sin? Are you serving sin in your life? If so then you are not dead to sin yet.
7 for he that is dead is freed from sin.
There it is in one line. “He that is dead is freed from sin.” There is your answer. There is my answer. If we are dead then we are free from sin, therefore if we are not free from sin then we are not yet dead. One leads directly to the other.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.
And there is the fulfillment, “if we be dead with Christ we shall also live with him”. So to put it together, if we are dead then we are free from sin and thus we will live with him.
If we are still serving sin, then we are not yet dead, and we will NOT live with him.
Now there is a difference between serving sin and making mistakes. You and I will make mistakes until the very moment of the rapture. Every one of us will fall short. We are in the flesh and thus quite imperfect. The difference is, are you serving sin? Are you pandering to your lusts? We all have lusts. Do we sin wilfully? Anyone who says they are not tempted is a liar. The flesh we live in, that we just heard, wars against the spirit, but do we pander to our lusts, or do we do as the Apostle Paul did?
1 Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Not once years ago when we became Christians, but each and every day of our lives, we either put our flesh to death, or we pander to it. It is not just to not do things, but to not want to do them. As Christians we become an incredible paradox, the desires of our hearts and the desires of our bodies are completely different. We will look into that in a few minutes.
Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness:
Who do we obey. Who do you obey? Who were you obeying last night, last Tuesday? Who will you obey tonight? Sin is of the devil. If we have not crucified our flesh and died unto sin, then in serving and obeying sin, we are servants of the devil. Let that sink in. Hear it and understand it. If we are serving sin, then we are servants of the devil.
If we sin wilfully, then we are wilfully serving Satan.
Nobody here wants to serve the devil. If you did, you would not be reading a Christian Blog, and certainly would not have gotten this far in it. But that is how deceiving it is. That is how he sneaks in. When Eve disobeyed God and listened to the serpent, she was serving the devil. She didn’t realize it at the time, but she was doing it. Every time we serve our sin, our lusts, we serve Satan. Remember that. Every time we pander to our lusts, we are serving the one that makes us sick. Every time we obey our lusts we are serving the one who is killing us. Think about it.
Hebrews 9: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Purge your conscience of dead works.
When we receive Christ he purges our conscience of dead works. Our flesh is still evil. We still have fleshly lusts that war against the soul, but now we have a new desire. Here is the paradox. Our body wants to do one thing, but our minds and hearts have a desire to do the opposite. It does not make sense to the carnal mind and in fact it seems quite mad. Our minds and hearts want to do things that do not please our flesh, things that do not bring us pleasure in the flesh, and not do things that our flesh finds very pleasurable.
And we fight a war daily with our flesh, crucifying it with Christ, so that when he comes, and he will come so very soon, we will be with him and be made like him. Lets continue our original scripture for a moment.
Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, with is idolatry: 6 For which things sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
That’s pretty straight. You know your lives. I know my life. God knows our lives. We all have our individual weaknesses and the devil will attack you where you are weakest. But “mortify your members”. Kill them! Die unto sin and live!
Without Christ it is all impossible. If it were possible then he died in vain. But it is not possible without him. We have to meet Jesus Christ in person. It is not good enough to sit in church and hear about him. That is good, very good, but not good enough. We need the new birth. And it comes, as the fleshly birth, in three steps. And it has an amazing result on our lives.
Ezekiel 36 25: Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: an d I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 and I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments and do them. 28 and ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. 29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. 30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen. 31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
Can you see it coming together? First we get a new heart where we are sorry for our lives and realize that we need salvation, then a new spirit that makes us desire the things of God, his holiness and righteousness, then the Holy Spirit which imparts God’s holiness and righteousness to us. Water, blood and spirit. Justification, sanctification and filling.
And look at the results. First we receive the blessings of the Lord, the salvation of the Lord, Justification. We still have desires. We have guilt. But he removes the guilt. He washes it away. Then the sanctification where he cleanses us from all our uncleanness and iniquities. Then comes the paradox into us. We will loathe our own selves because of our fleshly lusts and the lives we used to live where we catered to those lusts which God calls abominations. God calls our own ways evil. My way is evil. Your way is evil. God’s way is good. Only God’s way is good. And He gives us the Holy Spirit. It is that Holy Spirit that empowers us.
Your flesh will fight against God’s way, which is in his word, and will hate it for God’s way crucifies your flesh in the lusts thereof.
Life is a series of decisions. We are given free choice in this life. We choose our final destination. Each and every one of us decides where we go. If you go to heaven, that was your choice, if you go to hell, that is also your choice. But those choices are wrapped up in the myriad of other choices we make every minute of every day. With every though, every word and every action, we have to decide how we are going to react.
You had to decide whether to come to church or not. You have to decide whether to believe what I am saying or not believe it. You have to decide whether even to listen. You have to decide whether or not you will receive Jesus Christ. You do that party by deciding whether or not you will believe and obey his word.
This is the word of God. If you accept it you are accepting God, and if you reject it you are rejecting God. My words are nothing, but His word is all powerful. What is more important to you, God or the world? Decide. What is more important to you God or your friends? God or your popularity? God or your reputation? God or your career? God or your fashions? God or your pride? God or your church?
Decisions, decisions, and each one leads you on a path. There is a way which seemeth right unto man, the end thereof is death. Straight is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life and few there be that find it. Eve had to decide. Cain had to decide. Even Jesus had to decide whether or not to go to Calvary for you. he had to decide whether or not to accept the devils offers in the wilderness.
You want to be raptured? You are deciding right here and now whether or not you will be raptured. Did you realize that? We will be judge on our lives by this Holy Revealed Word of God. Either we crucify our flesh and live with Christ or do the opposite.
Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
When we hear this word of God we either accept it and crucify ourselves, or we reject it and crucify Jesus Christ afresh. I’ll let that sink in real deep. If we receive the word of God then we will crucify our flesh.
If we reject the word of God then we crucify Jesus Christ afresh.
You know Israel was given the word of God, and they rejected it at Kadesh Barnea. And when they rejected it they died. Two million people left Egypt with Moses, they were all Israelites, they all had the prophet and his message, they all ate manna, they all were baptized in the sea with Moses and they all died. All but two. Two out of two million.
There are some 3 billion people who call themselves Christians today. If numbers hold true then only 3000 people will be raptured from the whole planet. 8000 go missing every day in the United States alone, so 3000 from the whole planet would not be missed. The United States makes up 5% of the worlds population so statistically they will only loose 800 people in the rapture. Canada is one tenth the size. Are you going to be one of the 80 people in Canada that are raptured?
How many will be raptured? FEW! That is all we know. Could be 80 from Canada, could be eighty thousand, could be 1.
I’ve mentioned this before. If you run the numbers, there could have been as many as 13,000,000,000 people on earth in Noah’s day. That is twice the population of today. And of all those people only one was raptured.
I am not trying to depress you. I am not trying to make you sorry but to a Godly sorrow, for a Godly sorrow brings repentance, and repentance brings life. Don’t start thinking it is impossible. With the Lord nothing is impossible. It is so easy to receive eternal life. It is the easiest thing in the world to do. It has no price for the price was paid 2,000 years ago at Calvary. You don’t have to work for it. You do not have to buy it for it was already purchased for you by Jesus. Eternal life is absolutely free, and absolutely available to everyone here. Every man, woman and child here this morning can receive Jesus Christ into their hearts. Every single soul here can receive the Holy Spirit right now. Some already have received it. And every single soul that is filled can be refilled right now.
All you have to do to receive eternal life is to accept it. The pillar of fire is right there in the room with you. All you have to do is crucify your flesh. All you have to do is decide that the Word of God is right, and everything contrary is wrong, and leave your old life and follow Christ. Believe and obey the Word of God and you have eternal life! Jesus said he who believes and is baptized shall be saved and he who believes not shall be damned. So believe! Cast off all doubt and believe the word of God.
Only Believe! All things are possible if we only believe.
The Christian world, with all its denominations and organizations has rejected the word of God in favour of dogmas and creeds which are contrary to the Bible. Are we rejecting the Word of God? Look to the Bible, whatever it says is right. Anything that contradicts the Bible is wrong. It is that simple. It does not matter what you were thought, what your Sunday school teacher told you, what your preacher said, what the science journals say, what the TV says, if it is not word upon word, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little there a little exactly according to the Bible it is wrong.
Our flesh is contrary to the Bible. Our flesh is wrong. Our carnal minds are contrary to the Bible. Our carnal minds are wrong. Our carnal minds cannot understand spiritual things. We cannot figure out the Lord God. The word must be revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the light of the world and it is only through him that we can understand anything spiritual. And the holy spirit will always point us back to the word of God.
People will tell you that God told them to do something, yet what they are doing is contrary to the word. It cannot be God for God cannot contradict himself. Yet they will be very religious in their doings.
2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent et, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Very religious, having a form of godliness, but their flesh is not crucified. Look at the works described here and compare it to the fruit of the spirit.
Galatians 5: 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law 24 and they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Can you see the difference? Men are lovers of their own flesh but we are told to crucify our flesh. If we love our flesh then we will fulfill the lusts thereof and crucify the Lord, but if we loved the Lord, then we will crucify our flesh with its lust. If we crucify our flesh and die to sin, then indeed we will raise with him, and are already risen with him and sitting in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned to fables.
This word of God is power. When we hear the word it goes to our roots. If we accept it, the word washes us clean and sets us free, but if we reject it, that same word will condemn us. If we do not crucify our flesh, if we love our own selves, then we will not be able to endure a word that condemns our flesh. If we love the Lord, then we will love how the word circumcises our hearts and ears. We will love how the word of God cuts away our flesh. We will love how receiving the word of God crucifies our flesh with the lusts thereof. If we are not living the word, then we will be condemned by it.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than a two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
God knows our every word, and our every move, and our every thought. When you hear his word, it will reveal what is inside you. It is better than any X-ray, better than any CAT scan, better than an ultrasound. God’s word cuts deeper than any of them. It cuts away at your flesh and not just at the surface, but deep into the bones and marrow. God’s word goes so deep that it reveals the thoughts and intents of the heart. Not just your thoughts, but the very motives behind your thoughts. Every desire, every lust, every want, every like and every dislike is open to him. He knows exactly what you are thinking about what I am saying, and why you are thinking it.
Our flesh cannot stand it. If our flesh is alive then it will flee from the presence of God, it will flee from the word. Our flesh hates the word of God. Our flesh is God’s enemy. Our fleshly carnal minds are God’s enemy.
If we crucify that flesh, then we will be able to endure sound doctrine, which is the Word of God, and we will be risen with Christ. And if we are risen with Christ we will seek those things above.
2 Corinthians 5: 14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead; 15 And that he died for all that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have know Christ after the flesh yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man b e in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all thins are of God who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.
We must become A new creation in Christ Jesus.
The new birth is not just a figure of speech, it is not a ceremony, it is a literal birth of a new person, a new human being, a new creature. Old things are passed away. Things you used to love, you now hate, and things you used to hate, you now love. Things that meant everything to you are now garbage. Things you were proud of you are now ashamed of. Things you would have been ashamed of are now your greatest treasures.
Are you changed? Have old friends commented on how they liked the old you better? People wonder what happened to you? People who used to be your friends now want nothing to do with you and avoid you? That is because you are not you anymore. You are now a brand new person. That is the new birth, it takes a twofold child of hell and rebirths them as a child of God.
It is a mystery indeed and the greatest miracle of all. God took Saul of Tarsus, a pompous religious murderer, and turned him into Paul the humble apostle and prophet messenger. God took the shameful creature that I was and made the creature I am now. God took the shameful creature that you were and made the creature you are now.
When you are born again you are the same person, but not the same person. You have the same mind, but with different thoughts in it. You have the same heart but a different spirit in it. Your desires change. Your tastes change. Your motives change. Your treasures change. Your goals change. Your priorities change. Your likes change. Your dislikes change. You become a brand new person. Even my tastes for food changed!
When you are born again, you become the person that God had in His mind when he wrote your name in the Lamb’s Book of Life before the foundation of the world. The predestinated seed will accept the Word of God. The predestinated seed will crucify their flesh. The predestinated seed will receive the holy spirit. The predestinated seed will believe every word in the Bible. Jesus Christ is the Word of God made flesh. The predestinated seed is the Bride of Jesus Christ and just as Adam’s bride was a part of him, so is Christ’s bride a part of the Word of God.
It is up to us to choose, live for our flesh, or live for Christ. Crucify our flesh, or crucify Jesus. All we have to do is accept him, accept his word, believe his word and cry out to him.
Romans 10: 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 for the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 for there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
You want salvation? Cry out! Confess Jesus Christ with your mouth. Do you believe he is here? Prove it. Talk to him. Cry out to him. If you saw him standing in front of you with your eyes you would all cry out and rush to him. He is there with you right now, closer to you than your own breath. The pillar of fire is right there. Cry out to him and be saved. Do you believe on him? The word says if you believe you will not be ashamed. Fear is a spirit. Resist the devil and he shall flee from you. Praise God!
Praise God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, with all your body. Let every facet of your being cry out to the Lord Jesus Christ this moment, and receive of him. He is knocking at your heart this moment. Receive him and he will come into you and sup with you, and you with him. He will be your God, your saviour, your healer, your deliverer, your redeemer, your friend.
Do it today, do it now, tomorrow may well be too late.
May the peace and grace, power and majesty of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
John 19: 30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
It may seem like an odd scripture with Christmas approaching; more like an Easter message. But for a Christian every day is Christmas and every day is Easter.
The Carnal man will look upon this scripture, and the context of it, and say that Jesus had fulfilled the final prophecies of his life, and said it was done, and died. While this is true, there is a far deeper spiritual meaning to what he said. What exactly was finished?
What did he come to accomplish? There are lots of ways to take this line of thinking. But this is the direction that the Lord put on my heart for today.
Matthew 5: 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
The first thing we see is that the Lord Jesus came to fulfill the law. Now in every law there are two distinct components. First there is a commandment, a do, or do not part. Second there is a penalty for transgression of the first part. Most people don’t realize this. That is why they do not understand how Jesus could fulfill the law. He did not change the do, do not part. He simply took the penalty for it upon himself. For example:
Exodus 21:12 12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
There are two distinct parts. 1) if you hit someone and they die, and 2) you shall be put to death. Jesus fulfilled this law. Does that mean you are now allowed to hit someone and kill them? NO! It means that Jesus took the penalty upon himself. If you had killed someone, and you repented and were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, then Jesus Christ took the penalty of death upon himself at the Cross of Calvary. This does not give us license to sin, it justifies us from our sin. Big difference. They are completely different ideas.
Romans 6:What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Jesus Christ took the penalty of the law upon himself. The commandment is still there. The commandment is still in force. The penalty is still in force as well if we are not under the blood covenant of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ laid down his life and took it back up. We do the same thing in baptism. We lay down our lives with him, crucify our old man, our old nature, with him. The difference is that we do not pick our old lives back up. We pick his life up, or more correctly, his life, the Holy Spirit, picks us up. Then we no longer live, but it is Christ Jesus living in us.
Galatians 5: 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
If ye be led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Therefore the corollary of that is If ye are NOT led by the Spirit, ye ARE under the law. Do you realize what that means? Every single soul that is not under the blood of Jesus Christ, that has not entered into the covenant of the New Testament, is still under the law. The Whole Law!
When they come up in the white throne judgement, they will be judged by the Lord Jesus Christ using the entire letter of the law. They will be held accountable for every single law, every single ordinance in the Old Testament of the Bible.
It is finished! It indeed is. But we still must receive it! If we reject the pardon that was signed by the blood of Jesus Christ, we will be called to answer for every single letter of the Law of Moses.
It is finished! For the children of God, it is finished!
1 Peter 2: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
When were you healed? You and I were healed 2,000 years ago. It is finished!
But do we act that way? Do we act as though it is finished? We have a promise of the Lord. Every single disease, every single sickness, every single ailment we will ever get has already been healed! It is finished.
2 Chronicles 16: 12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the Lord, but to the physicians.13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
Now Asa was not an unbeliever. He had a long history with the Lord, and with the supernatural power and might of the Lord God Jehovah. He also had a promise of the Lord spoken to him by a prophet:
2 Chronicles 15: And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded: 2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; TheLordis with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. 3 Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law. 4 But when they in their trouble did turn unto theLordGod of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them. 5 And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries. 6 And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity. 7 Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded. 8 And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of theLord, that was before the porch of theLord.
King Asa had the Word of the Lord. The prophet was sent and brought him the message of the hour. Do we have a message? Are we going to trust in the Lord, in the message, in the Word of God?
King Asa saw the Lord deliver him from undefendable odds. And the Lord not only defeated his enemies, he was given 35 years of peace. That is supernatural in any era. Yet after all that, after 35 years of supernatural experiences, after hearing the words of a vindicated prophet, when trouble came, he rejected the way of the Lord and sought the arm of flesh. And it cost him his life.
Why? Because with King Asa, it was not finished!
2 Chronicles 15: 16 And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.17 But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.18 And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.
He did run well. He cut down the idols and burnt them. He cast out the idolaters. He was a message believer! He was justified in his day. He was sanctified in his day. He sanctified all of Israel!
BUT, “the high places were not taken away out of Israel”. His new birth was not complete!
Ezekiel 36: 24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
The new birth is not a single event. It is several events locked together. It is just like the natural birth. The baby is conceived. We often forget that part in discussing the new birth. The baby is conceived first! How? A seed is planted and the seed grows, and the seed bears fruit. That fruit is the baby.
The first thing that happens in a new birth is the planting of the seed, which is the Word of God. The life in that seed is the Holy Spirit. Jesus said in John 6:63 that “my words are spirit and life”. The first step in the new birth is that someone like you or I, someone who carries the seed, plants it in the heart of the heathen. Big word to use in this politically correct day. We are all heathens once too.
The life in the seed is the Holy Spirit. If we do not have the Holy Spirit, then the seed is dead inside of us. If we do not have the Holy Spirit, then the seed that we plant is a dead seed. That is why we have over 1,000 denominations on earth with 3 Billion people calling themselves Christians, all preaching out of the Bible, and planting DEAD SEED!
2 Corinthians 3: 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
If we preach the Word of God without the Holy Spirit, we are planting a DEAD SEED, a seed that will rot and kill the host. We will kill people with that dead seed. How can the Word of God bring death?
2 Samuel 6: 3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.5 And David and all the house of Israel played before theLordon all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.6 And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.7 And the anger of theLordwas kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
They were carrying the Word of God, the Ark. They had a good intent. They had no evil or malicious intent in their hearts. David, the King that the Bible says was a man after God’s own heart, led the way. They had musicians out in front. They had a program, a religious program that looked perfect. They had everything lined up but one. The wrong people were handling the Word. The Bible says it must be carried on the left shoulders of the Levites, over their hearts.
And when the Word of God went forth without the Spirit of God, then even the righteous man Uzzah died. Without the Spirit of God, the Seed of God, the Holy Bible, is DEAD.
Without the Holy Spirit, the message of the hour will bring DEATH! It is a dead seed without the life of Christ in it. That is why we have so many churches, preaching the Bible, and yet all they can create is still born babies.
So the new birth starts with the planting of the seed, the live, spirit borne seed. Then the seed germinates. A baby germinates for 40 weeks. Forty is one of God’s special numbers. Moses was on the mountain for 40 days. Jesus fasted for 40 days.
The seed of the Word of God will germinate in the heart, watered by the Holy Spirit. Now the Spirit does not indwell at this point, it anoints. There is a different. Remember Jesus said the Spirit would be with us, AND in us. And is a conjunction. Two separate events.
Then we get to the point where we usually start speaking on the New Birth. First we have Justification, then we have Sanctification, then we receive the Spirit.
1 John 5: 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
It is the Spirit that bears witness. Not the letter. The birth is water, blood and spirit. Just like a physical birth, first the water breaks, then the blood, then the baby. So too with the new birth. First the water, the justification in baptism. Then the blood, the sanctification. Then the filling of the Holy Spirit. Three definite steps.
And again the Scripture says here that “the witness of God is greater”. The witness is the Holy Spirit. Our witness without the Holy Spirit, is the witness of men, and it is powerless. It becomes a second had gospel.
Acts 19: 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of theLordJesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
These seven men had heard the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. They had heard the message of the hour from the mouth of the prophet. Not only had they heard the message, they also saw the vindication in signs, wonders and miracles.
But for them it was not finished!
They had the letter, but they did not have the spirit. They came with a second hand gospel. They came quoting the prophet but without the spirit, they simply had the testimony of man. The testimony of God is greater. For the seven men, it was not finished. They had the message, but they did not have the Spirit or the Revelation of the message.
Is it finished for YOU?
We have to make this personal, intensely and completely personal. Do you have the Revelation and the Spirit? Is your new birth complete? Is your faith complete? Only you can answer that.
Are you trusting completely in the Lord today? Asa could not. He had the message. He heard it from the mouth of the prophet. He had 35 years of supernatural experiences with the Lord. Yet it was not finished for him. He did not take away the high places. He did a lot. But he did not do it all.
David, the man after God’s own heart, the anointed King of Israel, did almost everything. He had the musicians. He had all but one thing. He failed to get the Levites to carry the Word. He failed to get the Spirit of God in the picture. He had the letter, but not the word. He was planting a dead seed.
That can happen in our message churches today, and indeed it is happening. It was even happening when Brother Branham was here. He warned of it. He warned of the need for repentance before baptism. He said we are going in dry sinners and coming out wet sinners. He said we were creating still born Christians. It is the same today. Where is the Lord today? We have the message. We have the quotes. We have the music. We have fancy Churches. We have big buildings, great architecture, beautiful interiors, lights and sounds, audio visual systems, professional musicians and singers. We have preachers in $5000 suits.
They are Ox Carts!
The Word of God is not carried in a building, or an organization, or a system, or a program. It is not carried in a denomination. They can only carry the letter, the dead letter.
The Word of the God, the Spirit of God, can only be carried in the hearts of the Christians. The Lord dwells in the hearts of the Bride of Christ, and nowhere else.
Judges 6: 7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto theLordbecause of the Midianites,8 That theLordsent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith theLordGod of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;9 And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;10 And I said unto you, I am theLordyour God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.11 And there came an angel of theLord, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.12 And the angel of theLordappeared unto him, and said unto him, TheLordis with thee, thou mighty man of valour.13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if theLordbe with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not theLordbring us up from Egypt? but now theLordhath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.14 And theLordlooked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
There are a few things to look at here to tie things together. First of they were sent the Prophet. The Prophet told them of all the power of the Lord God vindicating his word and his promises to them over the years. He is telling them that for them it should be finished.
Then we find the angel appearing to Gideon. Gideon responded with a very simply question. If God is with us, where is the supernatural vindication of a living God? Can we say the same today? If the Lord God is in our midst, then we have a healer here. If Jesus Christ is here, then there is deliverance. If there is a living God with us, then there will be supernatural signs, wonders and miracles. If for us it is finished, then we will most certainly have the fruit of it in full blossom.
And the third point, the angel did not say to Gideon that the Lord is with Israel, he said the Lord is with you.
The Lord God is with YOU! Go in thy might. Have I not sent thee?
The Lord God is with YOU Saints of God!
The only presence of the Lord God Jehovah, the Holy Spirit, is in the hearts of the children of God. He is nowhere else upon the face of the earth, except in you and I. When the rapture comes, it is the Spirit of God leaving this world, and anyone that is filled with that Spirit goes along for the ride. No Holy Spirit equals NO rapture.
Romans 10: 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
How shall they preach except they be sent? They will plant dead seeds! We can preach the gospel, we can quote the message and even perfectly imitate the Prophet’s voice, but without the Spirit, without being SENT, we will plant dead seeds. Our words will simply be the testimony of man and rot in the hearts of the people. It will make them sick and they will spiritually die.
Have I not sent you? Are you sent? Have you all been sent?
Mark 16: 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Go YE into all the world! If you are born again, if you are filled with the Holy Spirit, if for you it is finished, then YOU have been sent. The harvest is ripe, but the labourers are few, and far between.
Is it finished?
Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel unto every creature. Preaching is not reserved for the preachers. There are five ministries from behind the pulpit, but all people are preachers. Even the women! Whoa that shocked someone. There are five pulpit ministries, Evangelist, Prophet, Teacher, Apostle, Pastor. Notice there is no title of “preacher”. We are ALL preachers. We preach the gospel by living it and by testifying of it.
Acts 18: 24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
They expounded to him. We are all supposed to testify. We are all supposed to bring the gospel. We are all supposed to go into all the world and tell every soul we meet of Jesus Christ and what he did for us.
That is not to argue doctrine. NO. We are supposed to introduce people to the Lord Jesus Christ. Tell them what he did for you. Tell them how you got saved. Tell them how you got delivered. Tell them how you got healed. Tell them of the signs, wonders and miracles that you have personally witnessed in your life. Do that. For that is our job as Christians. We are sent to be written epistles read of all men. ALL men. Go into the world by the Spirit of the Lord and let the world read Jesus Christ in you.
Do your neighbors know that you are Christians? Do they know the message of the hour? Have you told them about Jesus Christ? Have you testified to them of the signs, wonders and miracles that the Lord Jesus has worked in your life? Have to testified of salvation, of deliverance, of healing?
How about the people you work with? Does your boss know about Jesus Christ? Your customers? Your vendors? The guy who mops the floors? The receptionist? The forklift driver? You have been sent! Did you think you got that job by accident, or because of your qualifications? The Lord gave you that job, and he gave you that specific job for a specific purpose. You have been sent to them. You are an ambassador of Jesus Christ to them. That is your job.
2 Timothy 4: I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
Preach the Word! Not just in season, but out of season. Preach it where and when it is accepted and welcomed. Preach it where it is hated and rejected. Preach! Reprove. Rebuke. Exhort.
Finish it! If you dare.
Luke 9: 23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.
If it is truly finished for us then we will not be ashamed of him. We will have no problem testifying to everyone we meet. We will look for an in, an opportunity to, any opportunity to talk to everyone about the Lord Jesus Christ. We will express God’s opinion in every conversation, on every topic. We will be ambassadors for the Lord Jesus Christ, for the Kingdom of Heaven. We will plant the seed of God, the Word, by the Spirit. And we will do it all day, every day, with every soul.
Is it finished?
If we are ashamed of him, then it certainly is not finished; not for us.
The work is complete. The price has been paid. There is nothing that the Lord God can do for you today because he has already done everything. The atonement is paid. He cannot heal you because he healed you 2000 years ago. He cannot save you because he saved you two millennia ago. You have already been delivered. Your name was written in the Lamb’s Book of Life before the foundation of the world.
It is finished!
The problem is with us. We need to accept it. That is all we have to do. We need to accept it, to believe it and receive it into ourselves. We need to allow it to be finished. That is what the Lord is waiting for. He is waiting for us to attain perfection; for us to allow ourselves to be made perfect. He is waiting for us.
It is finished!
Let it be finished!
Are you sick? Are you waiting for healing? It is Finished!
Are you suffering from oppression? Do you need deliverance? It is Finished!
Do you have financial issues? Do you have work problems? Do you have family problems? Do you have issues that the world says you cannot overcome? Has the doctor written you off? Asa trusted in the doctors. The woman with the blood issue did the same. Then she heard about Jesus. And when she touched the hem of his garment, it was finished!
Blind Bartemaeus begged for his dinner. But when he heard that Jesus was there, it was finished!
It is Finished!
We have the message! We have the gospel. We have the written Bible. We have the fivefold ministry. We have the gifts. We have the fullness.
But is it finished for us, or are we waiting for more? Is there something missing for us? Do we lack? Is there a need that you have, that you know should be finished, but you cannot realize it in your life? Is there a battle that you cannot overcome? Do you feel overwhelmed?
Reach out and touch the hem of his garment. IT IS FINISHED!
1 Samuel 13: 13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel forever. 14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath Commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.
May the Lord add his blessing to his word. I hope everyone is hungry because tonight’s message is a little meaty. Lord willing, by this word tonight, we will all take one big step closer to God. With God’s help, I am going to answer a very troubling question that has stumped philosophers for millennia. I am going to tell you the Meaning of Life.
In 1 Samuel 15 we read about Saul and how God told Saul that he was finished because he did not obey the Word of God. He told him that obedience was more than sacrifice. That scripture spoke the end of Saul’s reign but here, a little earlier on, we find that God had told Saul that he was taking the kingdom away from him for much the same reason. We find here that Saul could not obey the word of God. And here we also find that God wants a man that is after his own heart.
Saul was a very religious man. He was an anointed king. He believed in God. He was not by any means an unbeliever. Saul was a believer, he was not, however, an obeyer. Saul’s heart was not according to the Lord’s will. He had his own ideas. He had logic. He had reasoning. And Saul had fear. Let’s take a little background here on this story for those who don’t remember it to clearly.
Samuel had told Saul to wait at Gilgal for him to return and that Samuel would be a good seven days behind. After seven days passed and Samuel had not shown up yet, Saul got scared. He knew his heart was not right with God and testified of it to Samuel. The Philistines were ready to attack and Saul in fear made a burnt offering. That was not his job. He was a king. It was the prophet’s job to bring the burnt offering. As soon as Saul had finished, Samuel appeared on the scene. We just read what transpired between them.
Now Saul went on to win the battle that was ahead against the Philistines but his kingdom was still rent from his hands. Even after Saul failed in the Amelekite war to obey God and had Samuel tell him that he was rejected by the Lord God, his kingdom seemed to stand for quite some time. Two years into Saul’s reign God told him that he was going to strip his kingdom from him, and yet Saul reigned as King for 40 years! But the Lord God said he would take it away and God surely did it. The destruction of the Amelekites was a promise God had made some 500 years earlier and the longsuffering of God allowed the nation to stand for 5 more centuries before he obliterated it. We have some promises for this age too.
So don’t ever be thinking to yourself that you got away with something. Get that out of your mind right away. If you did wrong, make it right. God is not ignoring your iniquity, he is giving you time to repent before he calls on you to answer for it. God is longsuffering concerning judgment but don’t ever confuse his longsuffering and grace with slackness. Every jot and tittle, every idle word is recorded and we will be held accountable.
What does God want in a man or a woman? Did you ever ask yourself that question? What does God really want from you? What does God really expect from me? That is a very important question because without the answer how will we ever know if we are right in the sight of God? How can we know if we are pleasing God without knowing exactly what he wants us to do? Did you ever have a job where your job description was not clearly defined, where you were not sure what your level of authority was, where you did not know all the required tasks or they were ambiguous? A job like that will age you prematurely. You never know if you are doing a good job and eventually you will be told that you are doing a bad job because you are not doing what is required. Tasks are not being completed. How can you complete your tasks if you don’t even know what they are? It is the same with the Lord.
God’s one central requirement from us is that we have the right attitude. Saul had a bad attitude. He was puffed up in his own mind. He thought that his thoughts and ideas had merit. He was religious and logical but did not give over fully to God. God gave him some direct and simple orders and instead of believing and obeying those orders, he allowed himself to interpret the Word of God to fit his fleshly desires. Sound familiar.
Saul was not a man after God’s own heart, he was a man after his own heart.
2 Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
This describes Saul’s heart perfectly. He measured himself by himself. He did not obey God’s word exactly as it was spoken because he had his own ideas and he interpreted God’s word to match those ideas. But the Lord wants a man after his own heart. God wants a man who will take God’s word exactly as it is written, believe God’s word exactly as it is written, and obey God’s word exactly as it is written.
Where does the word of God come from?
A word is a thought expressed. Before you or I can speak a word the thought has to be first in your mind. And before the thought can be in your mind, the desire must first be in your heart. The Word of God comes from the thoughts of God. And the thoughts of God come from the desires of God’s heart. Do you see it? Do you believe it? The Word of God is the manifest expression of the deepest desires of God’s own heart! That might be a new one for some people so I’ll let that sink in.
The Word of God, this Holy Bible, is the manifest expression of the very desires and intents of God’s own heart.
The Lord God Jehovah wants a man after his own heart. Is it coming clearer? God wants you and me to be the manifest expression of the desires of his own heart. God wants you and me to be his holy revealed word expressed to the world.
2 Corinthians 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
We are to be written epistles. That is in our job description. We are here to demonstrate God’s will to the world. We are here to show God’s motives by living them out in our lives. We are here to physically manifest the Lord God’s inner objectives. We are here to outwardly express the inner desire of God’s own heart.
Our lives are meant to be the expressed physical manifestation of the innermost intents and desires of God’s own heart!
Did that hit a chord in anyone? The purpose for your very existence is to manifest the desires of God’s own heart and express those desires to others! If that don’t get your heart going nothing will.
Saul failed to express God’s desires. He was given God’s Word. He was given God’s thoughts perfectly expressed. Saul was made privy to the very inner desires of God’s heart, but instead of obeying and expressing the inner desire of God’s heart, Saul expressed the desires of his own heart.
God’s inner desires are expressed perfectly in God’s thoughts. God’s thoughts are expressed perfectly in God’s Word. Since God’s Word is the perfect expression of his inner desires, anything besides his word must be contrary to the desires of God’s heart. In order to be a man after God’s own heart, our lives must be the expression and manifestation of the desires of God’s heart. In order to be a man after God’s own heart your life MUST be a perfect representation of God’s word! We’ll let that sink in too. I told you it was meaty. If and only if we live a perfect representation of the Word of God, then we are according to God’s own heart.
If we cannot agree with the written revealed word for the hour, if our doctrine is different than God’s written word, then our thoughts are different than God’s thoughts, and our desires are different than God’s desires. Think about that. If we change one word in this Bible, if we add one word to this Bible, if we take one word away from this Bible, then we are not the expression or manifestation of God’s desires. If we try to alter this word in any way, we become an abomination to the Lord God.
To attempt to change or alter or dismiss a single word out of this Bible will bring damnation upon us.
But it is done all the time. The Catholics believe that the Pope has the right to change the Bible and add or take away at his discretion. The Jehovah’s witnesses believe that the group who writes the watchtower has the right to bring any doctrine of their choosing and add or take away from the Bible at will. The Mormons simply wrote their own book. There is a growing belief spread by the World Council of Churches that any religion is good no matter what their doctrines. Most people today who call themselves Christians do not believe that the Bible is the perfect, unfailing word of God. But what does the Bible say about that?
Galatians 1: 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Accursed! Every single one of them is accursed! You change this word, you disregard this word, you preach contrary to this word and you will be accursed. This is it! This Bible is the sole expression of the inner desires of God’s own heart! There is no other! God wants men and women whose lives are the manifest expression of this written word. The only people who will be raptured off of this planet are those whose lives are the perfect expression and representation of the revealed word of God for the hour! Saul believed the Word of God he just could not obey and live the word of God and God rejected him for it. Live this message and you go home! Believe this message and don’t live it and you stay here for the tribulation!
James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Oh my, there it is in black and white. It doesn’t do us any good to believe if we don’t obey. The devil believes. Is that Bible? Do you believe it? We just read it. And not just Satan himself, but the devils, plural, believe and tremble. They believe every word but they cannot obey it. They know it is the Word of God. They know its power. But their hearts reject it.
Saul believed every word of Scripture, but he could not obey it because the desire of his heart was not for the things of God. Saul’s treasures were earthly. Saul’s mind was carnal. The carnal mind is enmity with God. As long was we are not born again our minds will be carnal and our desires will not be the desires of God. Without the new birth we will never be able to express the desires of God in our lives. As Jesus so eloquently put it, except you be born again you will never see the kingdom of heaven.
But the Lord God found a man after his own heart. God found a man who had the desire to obey God’s word. He was a ruddy little fellow out in the back pasture. He had no education. He was not sophisticated. He never went to a Bible school or a seminary. He didn’t even have grade school, let alone a college degree. But this little fellow had a heart to obey God. His name was David.
Now David was not perfect. He made some pretty glaring errors. But his errors were not an intentional disregard for the word of God. David was not sinning willfully. Saul was. Remember when Samuel came to Saul to confront him about the Amelekite problem, Saul defended his actions. David was a different type of man. When David was confronted about his errors, he confessed his faults and threw himself on the mercy of God. David was not a willful sinner. Saul sinned willfully. Saul knew right from wrong and did contrary to God’s word because his own desires were different than God’s desires. Saul had more respect unto his own wishes than to God’s wishes. David was just a man weak in the flesh.
Where do we stand tonight? We all make errors every day. We will fall short every day till we die. But why do we make those errors? Are we simply weak in the flesh being overcome in a fault, or are we willfully disregarding the Word of God in favour of our own desires? Are we after God’s own heart, or are we the children of disobedience?
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
You hear this word. I hear this revealed word of God for the hour. Saul heard the word. David heard the word. You believe this word. Saul believed the word. Satan believes the word. David believed the word. David was a man after God’s own heart. In David’s heart was a desire to please God and to obey every word of God. In Saul’s heart was a desire to please himself. Where do we stand? What is the desire of your heart? You know. God knows. Are we men and women after God’s own heart? Is our desire to live according to the word of God.
Be a man or woman after God’s own heart!
Do we hear the word and justify our actions, or do we hear the word and repent of our actions? Do we hear the word and disregard it in favor of our teachings and dogmas and traditions, or do we hear the word and disregard our teachings and dogmas and traditions?
There has apparently been a lot of talk of Xmas trees lately. The Bible, in Jeremiah in chapter ten, strictly forbids us to have Xmas trees because they are heathen idols. It says “do not do as the heathens do”. What will you do when hearing that? Will you disregard the word of the Lord and justify your actions in having the tree and decorations? Or will you tear down and throw out that heathen idol with all its trappings and have no more to do with it? What do you think Saul would have done? What do you think David would have done?
What will you do?
You, right here, right now are faced with a decision. You have been given the Word of God. Here it is again so you don’t miss it:
Jeremiah 10: 1Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: 2Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
You might say that you have a tree and God blesses you. God blessed Saul with a great victory against Palestine immediately after telling him that he was rejected. God blessed Israel in the desert for 40 years in blessing you cannot even imagine and the Bible says everyone of them was already dead. There is the Word of the Lord God in black and white forbidding the trees. What will you do?
Suppose you hear in Acts 2: 38 that you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and read in Acts 19 that says even if you were baptized in a different method, that you must be rebaptized for the remission of sins. And what if you also search the scriptures and church histories to find that the only baptism ever performed in the Bible and right up until the Nicene Council of 325 AD was by full immersion in water in the “Name of Jesus Christ”? And what if your church baptizes in titles, or sprinkles instead of immersing? What would Saul have done? What would David have done?
What will you do?
What will you do? You have some decisions to make. There is no turning away from it. We will either accept and obey the Word of the Lord God, or we will reject it. Will you, as the Ethiopian, and as Apollos and his 12 congregation members, run quickly to the water to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ? Or will you sin willfully and disregard what the Bible tells you in favor of the baptism in titles that the Catholic Church commands?
I told you this would be meaty. We are making decisions right now that will determine our destinations. We are actually choosing between Heaven and Hell, right here, right now. Will you obey the Bible or will you obey the Jezebel Religion? What is your life manifesting right now? Are you the expressed manifestation of the Word of God, or the expressed manifestation of dogmas, creeds and traditions? Are you a man after God’s own heart? Are you a David or are you a Saul? Who would you like to be?
God would have established Saul’s Kingdom forever. But Saul rejected God’s will, so God rejected Saul. That is how it works. David replaced him. He made mistakes. He made errors. But David’s heart was to please God and obey his word. Saul justified his actions. David repented of his actions.
You will make mistakes. Will you justify yourself or will you repent? When Jesus died for our sins he died for ALL of our sins; the ones past, the ones present, and the ones future. All we have to do is repent and follow the Word of God. Put it all under the blood. But we have to have a heart to follow the Word of God. We have to have a heart to obey the Word of God. We have to place this Word above all else. We all have an absolute in our lives.
Our absolute must be the revealed Word of God for the hour.
The word of God is the perfect expression of the very inner desires of God’s own heart. I made a promise a few minutes ago. I told you that I was going to tell you the meaning of life. Here it is.
The Meaning of Life:
Our very existence on this planet, our only reason for being here, the very meaning and essence of human life, is to be the physical manifestation and expression of the innermost desire of God’s heart through faithful obedience to God’s Word.
Simple isn’t it?
That is the meaning of life. That is why we are here. That is why the universe was created. That is why there are trees and birds, rocks and fish, elephants and meteors, stars and starfish. Everything is to express the innermost desires of God’s heart.
Revelation 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
There it is in black and white. All things were created for the pleasure, for the desire of God’s heart. Our purpose is to express that inner desire through obedience to God’s word.
If you are living according to the Word of God, if you are living this end time message, if you are a written epistle read of all men, if your life is a testimony of Jesus Christ, then you are a man or woman after God’s own heart.
If not then there is no time like the present. Repent and turn to God. That is all we have to do. Saul made mistakes, David made mistakes, but David repented and turned back to God. Repent! Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Put everything under the blood. Consecrate your life to him. Obey his word and you shall live. David repented. Repent like David did and be a man after God’s own heart like David was.
